Hi,

I recently installed NextPVR 2.1.5 and the current patches to take advantage of the aspect ratio options it has available to remove letterbox aspect ratio on 16:9 broadcasts my TV operator puts in their signal. I noticed some lag using analog input, then I realized NPVR has a CPU usage of 45-55%. I Tested all combinations of the decoders and renderers available for video and audio but the CPU Usage did not change.

When I stop the playback and NPVR idles the CPU usage is 50% for that process, but interestingly, when I open the Settings dialog CPU Usage drops to 10-15% even with the program showing analog TV. What can be causing this?

I currently use Cyberlink PowerCinema 6 and its CPU usage using post-processing is about 6-8%

AMD Athlon II X2 255
2 Gb RAM DDR2 667 MHz
ATI HD 4670 1Gb DDR3 with latest drivers
I'm running Windows 7 32bits Professional

I have some Blu-ray files that have 5.1 PCM audio as well as some 5.1-channel FLAC audio files. I am using the LAV audio decoders and the problem is they are getting down-mixed to 2-channel PCM over HDMI. Bistreaming of DTS-HD, etc. is working fine but it is my understanding that for multichannel PCM over HDMI WASAPI output is needed. Is there any chance this could be an option? Thanks.

However is there something I need to set/configure to get it to wake my computer from an S3 sleep for a scheduled recording?

I have a "Blu Ray" custom task which launches Power DVD for Blu Ray playback. Is there an easy way to close NextPVR while the custom task is running, and then relaunch NextPVR once finished. The reason I need this the Blu Ray playback stutters if NextPVR is running at the same time.

I was thinking some kind of setting in NextPVR (I'm sure there was something in GB-PVR that did this), or a clever batch file

I now use TWO Hauppauge WinTV HVR-1600 Hybrid Video capture cards in
my Windows XP PC with GB-PVR and use one of them to signal an IR Blaster that
changes channels on a Motorolla set top box. This setup is working fine.

Now my cable company is moving many channels from analog to the STB
so I want to also start IR blasting on my 2nd capture card. But as I've read
elsewhere in this forum, it seems impossible to run two IR blasters simultaneously
using the Hauppauge driver software as device selection is made at configuration
time.

What I'm not clear about - is there any alternative 3rd party driver software
to control these devices that will overcome this limitation?

Recenty I had to switch direct analog cable to Digital Transport Adapter to keep access to basic TV channels.
For the life of me I cannot figure out how to make things work with my setup.

I created a fixed channel (ch.3) on analog tuner (using latest Hauppauge drivers from wintv7), but I cannot change channels nor I can make the EPG work (it asks for channel mapping when I enable it on fixed ch.3), using mc2xml here.
I pointed the channel to haupblast.exe for changing channels, but it doesn't work.

Running latest NPVR 2.1.5 with R1 patches.
System was running fine with raw QAM tuner (analog was disconnected for some time), now switched over to analog temporarily and trying to make it work with Comcast DTA box (sort of a STB with analog output).

I have the setup working in win7 Media Center with remote, blaster and everything except the QAM tuner (now disconnected, waiting for a new low dB 3-way splitter to come in mail).

any help please?

Hi. Seem to be getting another instance of a recording being cut off - NZ Top models.

Does seem weird though looks like it's stopping naturally according to the logs, but the file is only 3gb (dvb-t TV3) should be around 6 gb.

Here's the start:

Here are the step need to run this utility. It is much easier if you install NPVR on the same box as NPVR. Note this is designed to be run before you configure devices or an EPG.


1. First in you need the SageTV web interface server and the sagex-services plugins installed. If you install the plugins with the web defaults you only need to change the IP if you are not running NPVR and SageTV on the same box.

2. You need to place use 7zip to decompress the attached file and place the NextSageGUI.exe in "Program Files\NPVR" or with 64bit
"Program Files(x86)\NPVR folder"

3. Run NextSageGUI. Input the forms values and if you are running on the server you don't need to change the IP, and for no running on the
server leave everything tick.

If you are running from another PC untick "Use Local Drives" but be forwarned if your Sage Recordings aren't on shares you will be prompted with a Notepad and you will need to do global search and replace on your shares

ie Search for "D:\Sage Archive" and replace with \\IP\Sharename

4. When it exits you will have an NextPVR datbase file in your NPVR user directory in the SageImport folder called NPVR.db3. If you have not configured your NextPVR EPG or tuners just replace the file in the database directory with this new one. The User Directory by default is

Windows Vista, 7, Server 2008: C:\users\public\npvr
Windows XP, Server 2003: c:\documents and settings\all users\application data\npvr

If you have configured NPVR, rename the existing NPVR.db3 before continuing.

If everything works the next time you start NextPVR you should have a channel list with no EPG data with your stations and icons, your Favourites should be includes and all your Recordings with their resume points.
