Greetings one and all. This is my first post. Many thanks for the great product and the support that is provided.
Setup is W10 with a USB TV stick (which has been stable for years).
I've been away travelling and don't log in everyday, which is why it took me a while to notice the first issue - Missed/Failed recording. On initial investigation I noticed that the EPG was blank, then I couldn't watch a channel. Upon inspection and various tests the TV Stick needed to be disconnected and reconnected. Even Disabling/Enabling via the Device manager didn't work. I also took the opportunity to upgrade from 5...??? to Version: 7.0.1.241229 {I hadn't upgraded on the premise that if is isn't broke don't fix it.} NextPVR is my 'backup' device for when my stand-alone PVR is 'too busy' or I am away and can't programme it.
Upgrade appeared to work but now I can't access BBC channels (1,2, 101,102,106 & 107. 107 sometimes works), to watch live. Error on BBC channels is Streaming Failed (transcoder exited) The other channels that I have tested work. I haven't checked ALL of them (far too many). {I can watch the BBC channels using VLC}.
Having rebooted, applied latest W10 patches I re-scanned channels & updated EPG. All seemed fine (apart from BBC channels which I can live without). So I set a recording for last night, having watched live TV on that channel. This morning I notice that the recording failed [Failed: No errors, but no data delivered. This is usually because the device failed to lock a signal.] but I have just been able to watch live TV on the channel.
I'm stumped and welcome your expert advice and support. Thanks in advance.
Latest logs uploaded but I also have some older ones that I made during my investigations if required. [BatchProcessing.log is activated so that I could 'split, re-encode/shrink & upload' a rugby match while I was away travelling.]
I'm using Kodi 21.2 on Windows 11 and play free IPTV-channels using the IPTV Simple Client.
I also wanted to make recordings so I tried NextPVR an set everything up on the web interface.
Using the NextPVR addon in Kodi the channels play fine and recording is also possible.
The problem is that most channels don't show an audio stream. Not in Kodi and not not in the Windows NextPVR app in Live-TV.
Hello everyone,
you are patient but I went from Windows to Macos (Mac Studio Ultra) and I am precisely to type what you need to do in this environment to enable the extraction of the EPG.
On Windows it was relatively simple with the execution of a time script, but on Mac reading other themed posts I went to the confusion. As for Windows I purchased Netxpvr UI but I really don't understand how to proceed.
I add that for now I am making the usual script in the Windows environment, then manually copy the EPG.XML file to the Mac .NPVR-Data folder. Obviously so it is an almost daily punishment….
Still cant update my EPG correctly, only a few channels are showing listings. I upped the time to 120 seconds per freq. and still no improvement. Each channel is set to a source of DVB/ATSC EPG. Ill attach logs i saved after updating and closing NPVR.
Every since the update only programs that were set up to record a series will record. But, when I select a movie or single show I want to record this happens. The guide turns red as it always has to indicate it will record. The program shows up in the list in the recorded programs. When I click on the icon it comes up, just like it always has. When I click on Play it acts like it's going to play but just brings me back to the icon menu with the Play, Delete, Record, Find All. I've missed many, many, many of the programs I wanted to see because I thought it recorded.
The next thing is the forward is not working. It will skip to the end of the program or any where on the bar, I have to use my mouse to click on the bar and guess where the program starts again. I've quit using the forward and guess with the mouse. This is a issue on all of the TV's.
The Minute Forward is missing on all of the TV's. I used this feature frequently!!! Is it just my issue? I want to have this feature please.
Thank you for helping resolve this. Especially the record issue.
Hello,
I did search the forums and found someone with a similar setup and problem to mine. NextPVR on a Windows box, Bell satellite STB and a Hauppauge Colossus 2. The problem is recording. When the time comes to start the recording, it is highly likely that the STB is in Standby mode. So, when the Hauppauge blasts the channel, the channel doesn't change correctly as the STB was in Standby mode. I saw a user on the forum say he sends a "select" command first. Is this doable, and if so, how?
Thanks
Greg
I've tried many things, but keep getting the dreaded "Streaming Failed (transcoder exited)" in the web client http://localhost:8866/channels.html.
PVRNext app says: Unable to find available capture device (HDHR stream not available).
HDHomeRun is on my LAN. Both the HDHomeRun tuners show up in Devices and find the channels.
Windows 11 on Proxmox with working GPU passthrough, e.g., Geekbench identifies the RX 560 and tests it.
A raspberry pi 3 used as a kodi client for NextPVR was becoming too slow for recent kodi versions.
An old low end Windows 10 PC which doesn't qualify for upgrade to Windows 11 was looking at becoming e-waste when Windows 10 support ends soon.
I installed xubuntu and an inteset PC-IRS5-01 and this 10 year old low end PC makes a good kodi/NextPVR client.
xubuntu:
Never ran this before but googling suggested xubuntu is lightweight and runs well on old hardware (it does). Libreelec would probably be a better choice but I wanted to enable hibernation and the tutorial I found was for ubuntu.
This adapter allows turning off/on a PC with an IR remote (see review). In addition to allowing IR remote control of your HTPC's power button, it's actually an RC-6 (Windows Media Center eHome) compatible IR receiver so it can control kodi. Since I have a pulse-eight usb CEC adapter, I'm not using the IRS5's MCE feature, only the remote control of power button feature. It's a pretty cool product for HTPC's and suprisingly rarely discussed on these forums.
