I have 2 HDPVR2's and I have 2 questions about NextPVR. First is if say you are recording from channel 3 from 8pm-9pm and there is another program set to record on channel 3 from 9pm-10pm, will it keep using that same tuner?  and the second question is if you are say recording from channel 3 from 8pm-9:30pm and you have another recording set to record off channel 4 from 9pm-10pm will it know to use the other tuner or could it over take the currently recording tuner?

I have 2 HDPVR2's connected to my NextPVR system, and I am wondering if there are any guides or explanation on how to use the ir blaster to change channels? I am VERY familiar with the HDPVR2, however I have NEVER done anything with the ir blaster part of it so I know nothing about it or how it works.

I am having strange issue with transcoding of video stream using D3D11VA turned on. When this is off, my imported m3u playlist, which consists of a single stream from a HDMI input source, works fine but for the TV channels from a USB TV tuner, I receive the error "Streaming Failed (transcoder exited)". If I set transcoding to use CPU, the USB TV channels work fine but the m3u stream gives the error "Streaming Failed (transcoder exited)". Is there any way to apply transcoder settings on a per tuner basis?

I cannot use the "Intel" option for transcoding because I am running NextPVR in a VM running Windows 10.

Hi all

What I would like to see implemented on NextPVR is the ability to search through a selected EPG souce, as channels are mapped. 

I prefer to stitch each EPG to the channel manually, as it irons out issues, and is usually rock solid , even though it can be more hands on. I also several NextPVR servers on a Wireguard Link, which are shut off from being accessed externally, which basically are set up in countries which I need to access geoblocked content, so I am able to export the M3u file to my main NextPVR without worrying about hackers, but unfortunately can't do the same with the EPG XML So the EPGs are mapped on my main PVR. This all works beautifully, however setting up the EPG and mapping channels due to TVGID NextPVR-xxxx isn't recognised to I have to build a new EPG from scratch. 



When one is working through a large EPG xml file it is extremely time consuming having to manually look through a EPG channel mapping , even if one taps the letter on the keyboard to only look through Channel names that start with F, but if one is looking for for example "Fox US" there are a million and one different fox channels for different cities, and states. So it takes sometimes up to half an hour to find a single channel. Please consider adding a server for example if I search for "WNYW" on a source that has a WNYW channel, it automatically finds it, and lets me select it as a EPG source for that channel. Manually looking through a EPG XML with 1000+ channel info takes ages, and there must be a fix to select the correct channel mapping easier. 

I have attached a screenshot where the search button could potentially be located. This would save me a lot of time, and cannot believe such a basic feature hasn't already yet been added. 

I look forward to hearing responses, and hopefully seeing this implemented.

Is it still the case that one cannot export the channels that have been set up to a file?

They have to be stored somewhere but where??

empty.db3 looks like it should contain channels and mapping from what data is in it but there is no actual channel data (hence empty).

When using the program guide at http://localhost:8866/guide.html and clicking on an in-process recording, then using the Cancel Recording button, then navigating off the TV Guide to say  http://localhost:8866/settings.html or http://localhost:8866/scheduler.html to view info, when returning to guide.html and wanting to restart a new recording of the same still in-process broadcast, clicking on the same program will display the Cancel Recording set of buttons, not the Record Once / Series / Advanced / Watch Now set of buttons (and the program entry in the guide is Not highlighted Red for Recording, so those indicators within guide.html are also out of sync). Other programs in the guide not recording or canceled previously display the correct Record... set of buttons.

Control-F5 browser refresh multiple times, clearing all browser cache data and closing and reopening the browser, doesn't cause the Record set of buttons to reappear. This occurs despite confirming that the program has actually stopped recording on scheduler.html, and at the settings.html Device Status button showing no activity, and viewing at the OS level that the .xml file has been written at the end of NextPVR recording process, and the main.ts recorded program file has stopped building in size and timestamp - it becomes virtually impossible to get the guide.html to record the remaining portion of the show again.

Without navigating off guide.html after the first Cancel Recording button click, the Cancel vs Record button sets seem to alternate properly with actual recording status (you can restart and stop and restart recording the same program multiple times), but once you navigate away from guide.html and come back, the program that was canceled will only display the Cancel Recording button set.

Additionally, stopping and starting the NextPVR service and opening a new browser to guide.html does not display the correct Record.. set of buttons. Even rebooting the computer doesn't clear the issue and the Cancel set of buttons is displayed preventing restarting the recording.

What does work is that if you go to recordings.html / Recent Recordings list and delete every partial recording of that program (which deletes the actual recording file on disk which isn't desirable) then the guide.html will display the Record set of buttons again, so perhaps the code is checking scheduled recordings of that program to determine whether it is in recording process, when it needs to differentiate 'completed' partial recordings separate from still in-process recordings of the same program to determine which buttons to display.

Please find and correct the issue. For long recordings like sporting or Olympics or channels that just have generic 6 or 12 hour long time slots like some weather or news etc, where you want to break up the recording into smaller chunks manually by stopping and restarting the recording, this is a common-for-me real-world usage being prevented.

I'm using the latest version 6.1.1.221106 Available (6th Nov 2022) on Linux Mint 21(.0 confirmed, the sys info no longer displays minor version number) and the button set issue has occurred over 1-2+ years of NextPVR releases.

Committed writes of log data to the nrecord.log can be delayed up to 18 hours during inactive periods of the DVR, for example late in the evening until the next evening when recordings begin again. I presume the use of a Buffered Writer object or similar programming object/technique. I haven't noticed buffered data committed to other logs after a delay, but please search the code base for other instances of delayed buffer writes and commit these writes immediately.

Having an incomplete log prevents monitoring and responding quickly to recording errors and similar DVR event monitoring.

I've attached some logs that illustrate the delay, opening the earlier version of the logs you can see a partial truncated line of log info committed at the end of nrecord.log, and the rest of the line and dozens to hundreds more lines of data not showing up for hours until some event triggers more logging activity that presumably exceeds the buffered write threshold and gets the stale data written to the log. Also, opening the browser TV Guide at http://localhost:8866/guide.html causes the beginning of thousands of log writes lasting well over half an hour to be written to nrecord.log - since these are apparently activities related to just building TV Guide data and Scheduled Recording data and Channel lists for the web browser GUI tabs and/or database table maintenance and not DVR recording activities, I would ask that non-recording logging entries have their own log file like guiinterface.log or dbmaintenance.log rather than clog the nrecord.log. Opening http://localhost:8866/settings.html will generally trigger a few lines of log data that will commit hours-old writes to nrecord.log without triggering the half-hour+ thousands of log lines initiated by opening the guide.html

Hey all, 

Looking for some help, I've tried several times to fetch EPG data from my HD HomeRun on NextPVR and I always get the EPG Update complete. [0 inserted, 0 updated, 0 skipped]

I've noticed that it always skips to the next channel in about 6-7 seconds regardless of the time I set to sit on each channel, I have even set it as high as several hundred seconds just to see if that makes an impact.

I can watch channels just fine from the channels or guide section just no EPG displays.

I'm on Zorin 16.2 and attached are my logs, than you for your help!

I have had a rash of failed recordings with the error - No errors, but no data delivered

Attached are the logs.  Two examples are the CSI Vegas: CSI.Vegas.S02E07.Burned  at 22:00 on 11/10 and Ghosts: Ghosts.S02E07.Dumb.Deaths at 20:00 on 11/10.

Both of these were targeted for the same tuner which is one of the 4 on my silicondust 4 tuner.

Looking at my DB all failed recordings I have are on the same tuner with the same error.

Bad tuner perhaps?

Kodi has just added an new feature which I would really like to see in UI clients.  The way I would like to see it work is hitting play on a main level folder (text or icon) play would start at the next unwatched show in my list in s/e order.

s2e1 watched
s2e2 watched
s2e3 unwatched (play from start) or partially watched (automatically play from resume point)
s2e4 unwatched 

Its not Netflix but it can still be useful for users like me who are weeks behind.
