The problem is that my NextPVR v5.27 "Settings" does not have a "Decoders" screen. I have a "Transcoder" choice. Obsolete error message?
The complete error message is: "Missing audio? You don't have a AC3 decoder selected. You can fix this on the Settings->Decoders screen."
This is a "showstopper" because the error message times out, and then the recorded video is NOT played. If I run NextPVR using a browser (127.0.0....), then the recorded TV show plays both video and sound, albeit the newly installed Comskip does not skip commercials as it should. Logs are attached.
I'm running NPVR4.2.5 on Windows 10 (up to date) and have installed uidroid 1.5.8 on my "android tv". It tells me
"Installation information Version: 1.5.8
Donator: false Server: 192.168.1.243 Online false"
I can select the server, but nothing else is happening.
I can access npvr on the tv via the web.
I've been using Ranbato's docker image with comskip for awhile now on my Unraid server, and it's worked amazingly until the 6.0 update.
To test that it wasn't a problem unique to their docker image, I tested a fresh install with NextPVR's official 6.0 Dockerhub image.
When starting to play live OTA tv from my HDHomeRun Flex 4K, from the built-in webplayer, at the bottom center, the status gets stuck on "Starting Device. Please Wait..." and eventually times out to "Streaming Failed (transcoder exited)." It has the same problem with all channels.
When trying to play a channel with version 6.0, and while it is hanging on Starting Device, the status for the HDHomeRun Flex 4K shows that one of the tuners is in use for the selected channel.
When it eventually times out to Streaming Failed, the tuner status updates to not in use
I also downgraded my Ranbato's image to 5.2.7.220410 and everything plays and works as expected.
The attached logs are from the fresh 6.0 NextPVR image install.

The time set in (Settings/Devices & Channels/Guide) is set to 02:44:00 and if I change it to a different time is automatically returns to 02:44:00.
My computer is off overnight during the Automatic EPG time, but my EPG information is always up-to-date.
Is there a backup setting somewhere for this situation?

NextPVR V5's Recording Service crashed this morning at around 7:38 AM CST. The NextPVR Service itself kept on running and had to be manually restarted to fix it. I backed up the logs beforehand and I have attached them to this post. I want to know what went wrong and what I can do to prevent this from happening in the future, if anything at all.
I'm worried Windows 10 might have something to do with it, since I also returned to the computer to see that Windows File Explorer had also seemed to have restarted since I last checked on the computer. Checking the System Log in the Windows Event Viewer, there seems to have been a number of errors related to the Service Control Manager that cropped up around the time that NextPVR failed. I've copied the Events that might be relevant and compiled them inside the WindowsSystemLog-2022-09-11_07h00.txt text file that I have also attached to this post inside of a ZIP file.
Needless to say, as usual, I am absolutely livid, as this is the last thing I should need to have to personally babysit. However, as I've said, I have a sneaking suspicion that Windoze might be at fault for this failure, since NextPVR has actually been relatively well behaved since upgrading from V4 to V5. Still, I want to be absolutely sure, which is why I'm making a forum post. I want to do everything I can to prevent this from happening again, and losing more historical news that I can never get back.
I'm in Sydney, Australia, and I'm an NRL (National Rugby League) fan.
In order to record all available Free-to-Air games on Sydney Channel 9 HD, I have several series schedules configured. The Nine Network normally broadcasts 3 games per week, on Thursday night, Friday night, and Sunday afternoon. When the competition series commencement date is approaching, I will locate it in the programme guide, and set it to record the full series. This gives me 3 dirrerent series, one for Thursday, one for Friday and one for Sunday. Later in the year, the Nine Network also broadcasts the Saturday night game, and accordingly, I will configure a new series for Saturday nights. When all 25 competition rounds have been played, I will then configure the NRL Finals, which the Nine Network broadcasts in its entirety. I have also configured NextPVR to include 1 minute of "Pre-padding" and 30 minutes of "Post-padding," in an attempt to take into account games which run overtime for one reason or another.
The program titles have remained consistent over the last few years, and although most games were successfully recorded in their entirety, I have recently been having problems with recordings stopping early, and failing to record the end of a game. For example, today, I have a game scheduled for recording to commence at 14:59 (15:00 actual start time), and to finish at 18:30, (17:59 actual finishing time). This would result in a recording which would also include approximately the first half of the Nine Sunday Evening News, which starts at 18:00. Unfortunately, this afternoon, the recording unaccountably stopped at 16:25, and in order to record the 2nd Half of the game, I had to record it manually.
I have no idea why this happened, and I'm attaching my log files, in the hope that somebody might be kind enough to look through them and provide me with an explanation for this apparent error.
I am running Windows 10 Pro v21H2, and NextPVR v6.0.0.220904. (See screenshots attached).

I've been having problems with scheduling certain series recordings, mostly because the broadcast often runs overtime, up to 30 minutes or more, and adding 30 extra minutes of "padding" works only intermittently.
I'm in Sydney, Australia, and I enjoy watching certain sporting events, particularly the National Rugby League Competition (NRL), and whilst I have mostly been able to record complete games, every now and then, the device will stop recording before a game has finished. This can be due to the extra "padding" minutes being insufficient, but sometimes it can stop for no apparent reason.
I'm now running Windows 10, finally upgraded from Windows 7 Ultimate. Upgrading to Windows 10 meant that I could no longer use Windows Media Center.
Windows Media Center supported EIT, as well as the ability to stop and save a recording when the programme was actually complete, avoiding the necessity of waiting for the "padding" minutes to pass. This meant that I could make shorter recordings of the correct programme length, with concomitant reduced file sizes, often up to 2GB smaller.
Unfortunately, NextPVR seems neither to provide support for EIT nor for Stop and Save recordings, the only option being "Cancel," which results in the recording being deleted.
I'm hoping that the developers of this software might be able to include this support in a future version.

I have been using npvr for many years with the living room TV connected via HDMI to a windows computer. I can use a WMC remote, wireless keyboard or wireless mouse.
I now would like to put a TV in the bedroom and would like to be able to watch npvr without having another box and just using the TV remote control.
I could get a TV with a "full internet browser" and use the npvr web server, but I don't know how I would skip or fast forward through adverts with a TV remote.
I have set up a "smart tv" (for someone else) in the past using DLNA and that TV remote had >> and << buttons, so that worked okay, perhaps I just need a TV with the right remote buttons?
I would imagine if I use an app on the tv I would still have the same issue.
Any ideas or recommendations for TVs that will do the job?
