Cannot Delete or set recording from Client
Posted by: imagn - 2009-04-12, 07:40 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

I know this has been discussed many times on the forum and have tried to read through some post, most everyone says this has to do with permissions on the machine.

Well I would like to know if anyone could give a detailed description of what to address to get this to work, i am running my Server on Win XP pro SP3 and have one client on XP and one on Vista, so far both clients can not delete or set recordings.

What i have done

Server, i have set permission for guest to have ful access to the folder containing GBPVR database and the recordings directory, this did not change the behavior

See server logs attached

Timeline off on clear QAM recording (using new mvpmcx2)
Posted by: philly_phenom - 2009-04-12, 06:57 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (12)

I've come across a recording that still has wierd timelines. I've lived with this before, because playback, skipping etc were all controlled by the PCH, but with the new client GBPVR is handling the skipping (at least that's my understanding).

The comskip cuts appear to be in the correct place (when I bring up the progress bar, the dark spots match up where commercials begin & end), but when GBPVR reaches a commercial, it only jumps about a quarter to a third of the commercial. If I do a 30 second skip, it jumps backwards.

It seems that my analog recordings (pvr500 & hdpvr) are all fine, but some of the hdhomerun recordings are wierd. I chalk that up to the fact that I have all my analog recordings at a constant bitrate & digital recordings can jump around quite a bit (bitrate wise).

Anyway, is this something to chalk up to "just the way it is" or should I cut a section out w/ VideoRedo & send it somewhere?

  Merge two xmltv files
Posted by: Reddwarf - 2009-04-12, 05:55 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

Since I got my STB I have to use two different sources to get channel-listings for all my channels, using two different programs. One file is generated with WebEPG from MediaPortal and the other one with xmltv using tv_grav_no_gfeed.

Is there a command line utility for windows that can merge these together to one file? I'v tried mergeXMLTV but it says it does not support the format.

Both files can be loaded fine into gbpvr, but it's not possible to have two epg's for one capture card, is it?

1st channel TV3 time 14.00 Babe...
2nd channel SVT1 time 15.25 Pingvinsresan

I enclose logs

what can the reason for this be - is there something I should do to avoid it happening again?

  Movie Wiz command line options
Posted by: mark_lt - 2009-04-12, 05:31 PM - Forum: SearchWiz & MovieWiz - Replies (4)

Hi,

Does anyone have a full list of all the command line options for Movie Wiz? Have searched through and can't seem to find a complete list. It might just be me being an idiot (propably somewhere). Would be good to have them all together.

Thanks

Mark

Live TV doesnt work at all
Posted by: stevelee - 2009-04-12, 10:41 AM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (15)

I can use GB-PVR fine on the server to make recordings and I can play these back on the MVP Client and use the TV Guide etc.

But when I try to run live TV from the client - it enters setup mode and tries to contact the server without success.

Eventually it says failed to locate GUI Service...

Tried several times but cant get it to work. Could see anything helpful in the logs. Firewall is disabled.

Quite a low-spec machine - only 1GB memory perhaps this is not enough to run the TV card, and GB-MVP - any thoughts?

Is there a way to force PVRX2 to use exisitng graph?
Posted by: pcrosley - 2009-04-12, 03:48 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (28)

I'm still struggling with some misbehaving DVB-T recordings (NZ w/ AAC) although they seem to be limited to channel C4.

I used graphedit and built a graph that seems to work (in the graphedit viewer) and re-registered the h.264 filter and Mpeg Splitter, then edited config.xml to set my preferred tools.

The graph that PVRX2 builds, however, is not the same as the manual one I built and contains "extra" bits. And, as a result, PVRX2 can't play the file without severe skipping and freezing.

So, is there a way I can mandate an existing graph for watching a recording, or is there more I can tweak in config to result in a graph like the one that works?

The attached logs from pvrx2 are before I tweaked GBPVR (pvrx2.exe-native-1) and after I tried tweaking config (pvrx2.exe-native).

Also included config.xml, the graph built by pvrx2, and the graph I built that works (30_Rock...grf).

Finally, as a side issue, anyone have any idea why only C4 seems to give me issues?

DVB-S Radio public beta test thread
Posted by: bgowland - 2009-04-11, 10:55 PM - Forum: DVB-T Radio - Replies (2)

Actually probably 'alpha' might be a more honest level to start. Big Grin

Many thanks to those who helped with 'private' DVB-S radio testing, but I ground to a halt if for no other reason than I started losing track of communications via email...hence this thread.

Any previous testers and any new testers interested in persuing this then please PM me.

Cheers,
Brian

DVB Radio v1.6 uploaded to wiki
Posted by: bgowland - 2009-04-11, 10:29 PM - Forum: DVB-T Radio - Replies (31)

This is pretty much just a bugfix release and attempt to get my development version in line with a public release.

http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Plugin/DVB-TRadio

This release now uses a batch installer and the wiki page is (at least slightly) less verbose.

NOTE: Due to the name change, this version will install alongside (and co-exist with) previous versions. I'll post instructions and/or an uninstaller to remove previous versions ASAP.

Changes...

Quote:2009–04–11 : v1.6.3388.35745
  • Project renamed “DVB Radio” and now installs into a new plugin folder (plugins\DvbRadio).
  • x64 operating systems now supported.
  • Now warns if the DVB Radio service is not running.
  • Changed power event handling to (hopefully) stop the service from preventing hibernate (not fully tested).
  • Updated various channel logos
  • Various bugfixes

Cheers,
Brian
