HIP can be set to use different key combos for buttons depending on the program.
I can set HIP to use the Pause and Record buttons to pause the game, storing the state, and to take screen shots or some other features.
I'll have to play with each program to see what's available... but has anybody else done this?
I'm really psyched about getting most of the emulators working with full screen on my box. I haven't set up the joystick settings for all of them, but I'm getting there. I just never got around to doing it all.
Last night I went home with worry on my brow, and fear in my gut. Videos that should be available were not. When I remoted into my box, I couldn't find my D: drive where they would be. My wife, who is finally going on her own to record shows says things aren't working!!!
I open the case, check the cables, and things seem secure. Actually, it doesn't reassure me like you'ld think. I'd love a simple solution like that.
I plug the box in and start 'er up. I try to get into the bios... but the USB wireless keyboard hasn't been recognized... can't do it... need a PS/2 keyboard.
As quick as I can I run to the basement, throw aside some projects I should have finished weeks ago, and blow the dust off an older keyboard. I come back up... but it's too late. I know the problem. I can hear it...
The sounds of a dieing hard drive, gasping for life, forcing it's platters to spin in a vain attempt to be recognized as useful... to no avail. After 3 minutes Windows gives up, and ignores my poor little friend as a rotten corpse and pretends it doesn't even exist.
I hang my head. I set the PS/2 keyboard down... it won't help me. I sit down to dinner.

At least I have an excuse to get a 1TB drive. With a HARD DRIVE COOLER THIS TIME!!!
This plugin is so simple to install, comprising only 2 files, I can't believe why it won't work. The files are in the right locations & the plugin is seen & is enabled in the config manager but I can't see it on the main menu. I'm using GBPVR 1.3.11 & Shutdown 2.8. What have I missed?
Having just got an NVidia 8300 based mobo I'm reading about PureVideo which purportedly offers hardware assisted decoding on compatible GPU's. This sounds like a great bonus and according to WikiPedia the 8300 GPU is supported by PureVideo. However I have no idea if it's being used during playback.
The NVidia site about PureVideo offers products for sale in the US but points me towards PowerDVD in the UK, the site for which offers no references to PureVideo. There's an Nvidia PureVideo trial pack which gives me the NVidia Video Decoder and NVidia Audio Decoder, both of which seem to cause problems playing back DVD's (chop, audio issues, skipping).
Am I wasting my time here? Is my understanding of PureVideo broken? From reading the Wiki page it should just be part of the drivers for my GPU but how do I check if it's in use?
I have just installed GBPVR, I get sound no problems on movie playback through GBPVR, but cant get any sound on live TV.
I am able to get sound when running powercinema and all other apps just GBPVR live TV is an issue. I have tried all the codecs I have to no avail.
I am running vista 32
Any help appreciated. wife is mad cause criminal minds is on tommorow and mediaportal was fine (now uninstalled)...ooops
I am pretty sure I had sound on GBPVR until I uninstalled media portal..but I have had a hell of a night trying to sort it before the kids wake up and demand TV that I have no idea whether I am coming or going or I did or didnt
grrrr have been using GBPVR without problems when last night TV3's sound starts stuttering with EVR for no reason (sound is fine with VMR9). All the other channels are fine, TV3 stutters with both AC-3 and AAC.
So far I have reinstalled DirectX, ATI drivers (back to 8.12 even), TV card drivers (tried originals too), PowerDVD 8, GBPVR, AC-3 Filter... nothing works!!!
All recorded programs play back fine once recorded.
I'm having problems getting good recordings. They used to work for SD, but I just can't get back to that place.
This is my setup:
AMD Atthlon 64 3200+
2 GB RAM
2 Leadtek DTV1000T tuners
NVidia GeForce 6600
GB-PVR 1.3.11
Windows XP SP3
I've tried all the muxes I can find and nothing will record smoothly. All the old recordings playback smoothly, though. I've checked CPU load during recording and it's down around 10% or lower.
Bizarrely, HD seems to record better than SD, although both are still choppy.
Does anyone have any clues? I've zipped the logs and attached them.
