I know this is probably nit picking but it would be good to have a now/next mini guide as opposed to just the current program, would this just be a skinning issue?
All of a sudden I had no lineups anymore, double checked my sd acct. Ok. Removed and re-installed i-xmltv and it won't run, am getting either a quick shutdown of the program (can't see what the error says) or it runs for hours (4 or more) and does nothing. I have deleted the channel listing on gbpvr and am using it's internal guide, but I really like the * beside new shows and the other features that i-xmltv gives me. Any ideas?
I am having trouble trying to get the image to be saved, it has to load the image from IMDB every time I just highlight an entry, this is a problem because the pc with gbpvr is on wireless, and crappy wireless at that... I checked the save image to DB but it doesn't seem to be working...
I need to replace the kids PC, so my idea is to give them my current GBPVR Server and replace with one of these two, but which would be best.
I would have to put a 3GHz CPU and 2GB ram in the Siemens box but think the cost difference between the two would be £10 or so.
I would transfer my exisitng hard drives so no extra cost there.
Question is which one would you recommend, The Siemens looks good and could be used under the TV but that isnt where it's going to live, so would I be paying extra for this feature or is the spec as good as the HP?
I have been devloping a BBC iPlayer plugin for personal use for a few months and I am interested in gauging whether other people would use it.
The plugin at the moment does the following:
- Allows searching of strings on the BBC IPlayer Website and retrieves the results
- You can select a show and download it from the iPlayer website
- Will take the resulting MP4 file and transcode it to mpg2 for use in GBPVR
- The recording will be added to the GBPVR database as a normal recording that can be played as normal
There are a few things that might put people off, recordings should be deleted after 30 days, as the plugin should not be used to avoid DRM.
The quality is OK but not as good as MPEG2 DVB due to the MP4's low bit rate.
Just getting a feel for whether there is enough interest to make a released plugin.
