I'm a newb, I've struggled along OK up to the point where I am now but I cannot for the life of me figure this out. I need some kind assistance, please.

Configured with TS Mux, DVB-T feeding my HVR-2200, Live TV is great, recorded analogue is great, recorded TS is nothing (black screen no sound).

Have attached logs as an example.

I saw an earlier post from sub saying

I am trying to mount an NFS share (I am using MythTV, however this should not matter since I am using the FILESYSTEM browser from the mvpmc menu).

I can mount it and see the contents of it when I telnet to the mvpmc, however the contents do NOT show up when using the mvpmc on screen menu FILESYSTEM. Is there something I am missing?

My dongle.bin.config is attached.

Here is the command I am using to create and mount the NFS share:
mkdir /videosb
mount -t nfs -o nolock,rsize=4096,wsize=4096,nfsvers=3 192.168.0.102:/videos /videosb

I record SD and HD television shows with GBPVR and the Hauppauge HVR-1600 and HVR-2250 tuner cards. While these turn out fine, there are some playback issues on my Tvix M6500 that I'm trying to solve by transcoding.

I have found if I transcode to an MP4 file with MP4 video and AAC audio the playback works perfectly. However, shows with 5.1 audio end up kind of weird sounding when transcoded into 6 channel. It's like it gets downmixed to stereo on just the left and center channel or something. Hard to explain.

This is the commandline I am using:

"C:\program files\ffmpeg\ffmpeg.exe" -i D:\clip.mpg -threads 4 -vcodec mpeg4 -b 12000k -acodec libfaac -ab 192kb -ac 6 d:\test.mp4

Any ideas what I can do to retain the full 5.1 audio tracks?

I also need to retain compatibility for standard def channels with 2 channel stereo tracks.

I'm not concerned about file sizes.

I tried to log this on the the XMLTVNZ forum - but the author suggested i use some editor to do what im after - then didnt give any hints (so safe to say he doesnt wanna know bout it).

I have a HVR4000 - which as such has 2 capture sources DVB-S and DVB-T.

I have set channels 1-3 from the DVB-T as "ONE HD, TWO HD, THREE HD" - just so that i can tell these are the HD Capable channels vs DVB-S which is always SD.

However since import all the EPG data from a XMLTV file - it will only populate the EPG data against the SD Channels (Since i called the HD channels by a different name).

My question is there anyway (or utilility) that i can use that can "duplicate" all the TV1,TV2,TV3 data - and add it back into the file for "ONE HD, TWO HD, THREE HD".

I hope this isnt an unreasonable question - as i dont really want to be recording all my stuff in HD - which is why ive set them up as different channel names.

I can remember one of the aussie epg programs was written that you could output the data to as many duplicate names as you wished, but as mentioned above - xmltvnz is not keen on that. I do understand that this is probably not a very common request - but id love to know how to get around it (other than forget about having separate HD channel names).

This isnt really an issue as such - its an observation - that does have consequences down the track.

Normally when you have x tuner cards set to record at the same time - and you are also watching live tv you will get thrown out back to the menu once all the tuners become active for the recordings.

What ive just discovered is that when i was watching TV2 HD on the DVB-T part of the HVR4000 - it caused the recording that was scheduled to use the DVB-S part of the card to fail.

Worth noting that it was greys anatomy that failed (and now my a$$ is grass when the wife finds out).

The DVB-S tuner and the DVB-T tuner are set up as separate capture sources. However it would appear that it does not boot you out when your watching live tv on the DVB-T and it needs the DVB-S for a recording (and prob vice versa).

I had been given the impression that the HVR4000 'knew' that both sources were on the same card - so would behave somewhat like a standard card in terms of tuner availability.

Im sure this my also be a problem for other dual mode tuner cards.

What exactly is the logic for GBPVR when it comes to this dilemma?? :eek:

I used to have a pretty good handle on GB-PVR, but these days I just can't win for losing. One day it works, the next day it's fucked up again. My last nerve is wearing thin, very thin.

I just spent a couple of hours trying to watch The Amazing Race and Simpsons and could not make any headway. Last night I watched American Dad and it played with only one little glitch that I put down to a broadcast problem. WTF?

It's only saving grace at the moment is that it plays xvid stuff out of the video library very well so downloaded stuff like the recent WSBK races (go Elbowz go) work well.

I'm recording OTA ATSC with the TSmux and the client is set up for file sharing. I thought this was the accepted way to do it.

What I don't understand is if TS files are played with the internal TS reader then why do changes I make to the MPEG-2 decoder section change the playback? No combination of any of those seem to do any better, one will have good video and no audio, but most just stutter horribly or freeze up completely.

I have been following the other threads and I'm hesitant to try the patch because it's a bit of a different situation.

I'm feeling pretty damn stupid at the moment. Any help getting this working would be much appreciated.

Running 1.3.11, I am unable to un-pause live TV. It pauses for 8 seconds before going to the screen that shows the recording bar at the top and the program name at the bottom, then the screen goes black and I can't un-pause the recording. Nothing happens, either with the keyboard or using the remote. The only thing I can do is "back" out to the TV guide and start watching the program again.

Please find enclosed a fresh set of logs (quit everything, delete all the log files, launch PVRX2 and try pausing live TV). I'm going to experiment with some different video codecs but it doesn't feel like they're the problem, everything else seems to work fine at the moment. Where should I start looking to try and make this work?

I'd like to see an option to force pre or post padding for a recording. Since we would not always want it, I'd say the option would be to force the padding on any recording if it is greater than the default amount. Personally, I always need to add an extra hour when recording NASCAR races and I always need to make sure I cancel any other recordings that are scheduled to start during this extra 30 minute time period. It would be nice to not have to do this, but not have the default extra 2 minutes get in the the way of any "regular" recording schedules. Also, any recordings that cannot be recorded due to the extra padding would show up in the "Conflicts" list. I guess the best way to do that would be to adjust the actual recording end time of the program with the padding, rather than have the padded time separate.
