I am trying to set up Technisat TS35 remote which behaves like a HID keyboard, i.e. generates letters, arrows, function keys, etc. And the way with xml files is great!
However, I discovered that for just single function in LiveTVPreviewPlayer there is no way to use the simple key without the Control.
The original line <command name="LIVETV_PREV_CHANNEL" key="^W"/> works OK.
"s" doesn't work,
"F6" doesn't work,
"^S" works correctly.
The same effect using keyboard and remote. Strange, but similar modification in LiveTVTimeshiftPlayer file is possible.
Anyway, I was almost able to tune the remote.

I've given up on my HVR-1600 and pulled it. I'm sticking an PVR-150 back in, but I wouldn't mind a PVR-500 instead of the 150 and then I could use one side of the 500 to hookup to a cable box so I could get my digital cable channels - both clear and encrypted, so if you have a spare 500 you'd be willing to part with reasonably (make that cheap! ) drop me a pm.

I am doing a new install of GB-PVR version V1.3.7 on a Vista box using a HVR-2250 tuner and can not get it to find any ATSC channels. (Map Digital Channels to EPG Channels)

I can get the tuner to work in VMC and SageTV so the hardware works so assume I have some setup setting wrong.

I have tried using the standard Config.exe (V1.0.3228.14980) and the updated config.exe (V1.0.3262.27560) but had the same result of no channels. Have tried deleting the Scan files and repeating but still the same.

I have EPG data by using the mc2xml.exe with the TitanTV source and can see my channels and programs in the xml file.

Attached are the config logs.

Also in the Digital Source Configuration screen there is a Device Number but I am unsure what it means. I ask this because the board has two tuners but unsure how I would pick tuner 1 vs tuner 2 in the configuration screen, does the Device Number control this? The Device number goes from 1 to 8 so that does not seem the correct way to specify which tuner but see no other choices to pick which tuner the setup is for.

i was wondering if there is a common inset used between plugins to display the current playing music track etc?

if not anyone interested in creating one (ill do it if theres enough interest).

basically i want it to do/be
- open source
- for music, show album art, artist, album, song, composer, duration, playback position, playstate (pause, play, fastforward (if possibe)).
- for video (not sure if video insets still work in PVRX2, if not this would be future development when/if sub adds it), video inset, title, subtitle, duration, playback position, playstate, is currently recording
- if nothing is playing, just show helpful popup information like things currently recording, how much room left for recordings (in hours/minutes or diskspace), weather? (this would make it dependent on the weather plugin, so dont really want to do it that way... maybe a plugin architecture to do this)
- common skin, the skin would be under Skins2\CommonInset(or whatever its called)\skin.xml, then the inset will appear in the exact same position no matter what plugin you're using (i don't want it bouncing all over the screen)

for plugins to use it, just reference the dll, and add it in the render method.

just figured this out and thought it might be of help to others...
I found this http://www.desimonesystems.com/suspendtrigger/index.php which launches a program of choice on standby or resume. I've put it on my client to send a WOL packet (with this http://www.depicus.com/wake-on-lan/wake-on-lan-cmd.aspx) to wake up the server every time the client starts. So far this has pretty much eliminated the big red cross and ctlr+alt+delete net error that occurs if GBPVR starts up on the client with the server asleep.

Well I have another idea... I've been thinking about it, working on proof of concept and I think I have something that would be best programmed natively, though I have been trying anyway

Currently:

GB-PVR does switch aspects on the fly when content actually changes aspects. Except for when:

4x3 content, the TV is letter boxed, black bands across top and bottom.

Manually, when I press F7, I can 'Remove LetterBox' to expand video for full screen 16x9.


New Feature:

comskip now has the feature where it will log the aspect ratios of a program. It outputs the aspect information in .aspects file

How do I get more lines in the TVGuide popup in LiveTV?

Support for broadcast EPG would make scheduling recordings handier for me.

I've had a MVP for a few years now, only in the past year or so have I discovered GBPVR and have since been using it to watch downloaded TV shows. Recently I picked up a tuner and want to use it as well

My problem with the MVP is: I can watch Live-TV great, but when I go to watch a recorded (recorded with GBPVR and in the Recordings menu) the video will start, play for maybe 3 to 5 seconds, then the MVP will reboot (MPVMC screen with green/red dots). I'm not sure why this is happening as I can see Live TV fine, but watching what is being/has been recorded crashes the MVP. I can watch these recordings just fine on the PC using PVRX2.exe

A little background on my recent addition of a tuner:

Last week I picked up a HDHomeRun device and spent the weekend getting it working on the machine serving GBPVR > MVP. I can now view the digital QAM stations and get guide info from SchedulesDirect. I'd say the most difficult parts for getting this set up were;

A) Getting the QAM.INI Manager.exe program. I don't think I saw this documented on the HDHR setup page, but without it I don't think that the
GBPVR capture source definition would have picked up the correct frequencies. By default I think my Qam.ini was not set for the center frequencies, is that how it should have been?

B) Once the frequencies were detected, figuring out how to map them to the SchedulesDirect EPG data. Initially I didn't use the SD data and was doing them manually, it wasn't so easy. Getting the SD data in there helped as I could then map them over (I didn't even realize there was a dropdown box to match up SD channel with the frequency)


C) Setting a renderer up. I guess the default render I had going didn't work with the signal coming in. I would get audio and a black video window when viewing live tv. The only way I knew that the channels were tuned in the setting up capture source was that I could hear them and that the frequencies matched up with what HDHR software itself detected for use with VLC. Anyway, I figured out that the Cyberlink video decoder was the one I initially got things set up with, I then settled on the ATI in the end once I installed it. I'm not sure I ever figured out what the PVRX2.exe Video Render did, but I left it as VMR9 Custom.

Anyway, now that I have all of the tuners set and live tv working on the PC I moved on to watching Live TV on the MVP. I'm using an MVPMC dongle and on my first attempt I didn't get live tv. I think I read that I need to change the multiplexer (not sure what this is doing yet) so I set that to ATI MPEG Mux and can now watch SD live tv on my MVP.
