Hey all,

I've just got GBPVR all set up and it's mostly working great... my clear-QAM channels come in great, and watching them live is fine. I'm also not having any problem recording the HD channels, I just can't play them back in GB-PVR. When I try to play them back, pvrx2 just crashes.

However, I know I can play the videos, they play just fine in Windows Media Player... any ideas? (I have attached my logs).


On an unrelated note, I'm new to the whole computer-pvr thing... I'm using mc2xml to get my EPG... how many days does each EPG cover? Do I have to update it every day? My EPG worked yesterday, but today most shows don't have any info available.

I had pvr-150 installed and running great with comskip working almost to perfection. We could watch while another recording was going. We were very happy. Then I guess I got greedy. I added 512MB ram to bring it to 2G.
I installed hvr-1600 hoping to get 3 recordings. Problems ever since.

Now I would be happy with 2 working--I gave up on the digital side of hvr 1600. But, I am even thinking of going back to the pvr-150.

I am having difficulty getting two good recordings. Comskip doesn't work smoothly all the time so most of the 2nd recordings (when they come thru) are not worth watching. If we are recording even one we can't watch any ready recordings because they "surge." Not sure if that is "stuttering" or not, but, we get a second or two of action, a pause, then another second or two of action, another pause, etc,

Running filtercheck shows Hauppauge WinTV PVR PCI II Capture and Hauppauge winTV 418 Capture

I just ran DeviceTypeCheck to see the device numbers and the report says INFO Hauppauge WinTV PVR PCI II Capture model 26132. Then VERBOSE failed to locate filter: Hauppauge WinTV PVR PCI II Capture
Failed to find requested device: Hauppage PVR150 (instance 2)

Sub, I imagine Windows 7 support depends on whether or not you plan to upgrade when it comes out. Do you plan to make the leap when it comes out?

I signed up for schedules direct after yapi2xml stopped working. I have 2 tuners, and configured both to use schedules direct.

• did not see any errors...
  
• did not empty the EPG because I didn't want to loose scheduled recordings...
  
• did get new channel line ups in gbpvr.
  

I start PVRX2 and it just freezes to the taskbar. Anyone seen this?

New to this forum. I am currently a media portal user but would like to switch to gbpvr so that I can use the DBox Recorder Plugin.

I have downloaded and installed the latest version of gbpvr.

Downloaded the dboxrecorder.dll.

Placed this dll in C:\ProgramFiles\devnz\gbpvr\plugins.

When i then go into config and select "Capture Sources" "Add". There is no option to select Dbox Recorder Plugin. I have tried this on 2 PC's and will not show up on either. I have also tried an older version of gbpvr with the same results.

Somebody please tell me what I am doing wrong!

I typically use an MCE remote to control GBPVR, but once in a while I have to try and remember what the keyboard mapping is. It would be great to have a key designated for showing a pop-up of a keyboard reference for idiots like me who can't seem to remember more than two or three keys at a time. A simple list of functions and keys would be perfect.

Since installing v1.3.7 I haven't been able to play a DVD disc using the "DVD" menu item. All I get is a blank screen after the drive spins up the disc.

VLC can play the discs outside of GBPVR, and both MovieWiz and Video Library can play ripped DVDs without issue.

Any thoughts?

A new issue just cropped up since I installed v1.3.7 -- playback of DVR-MS recordings won't resume after pressing Pause. I get a short burst of playback (from the buffer I assume) and then the playback freezes. I can hit Esc and then Resume playback exactly where it froze, but I've let it sit for 10 minutes after pressing Play without getting a response.

I can reproduce and zip up logs, but I'm not sure what it would show since the system doesn't seem to think that there is a problem and continues to respond in all other respects. Any thoughts?

I've created a new category (and will create a couple more as work procedes) on updating wiki pages.

The Being_Edited category tag can be added to THE START of any page that you are intending to edit, and would like others to view but not edit...

Currently I have flagged a few pages I am working on. Please feel free to watch the changes.

It is now my responsibilty to see these edits through to completion, or remove the edit tags, and allow others to edit...

Later I will change the tage to Pending_Proof, where I would invite people to proof read the pages and make small edits. I would ask that larger edits be made by the page authors, and the suggestions be given through the forum or email...

Once the page seems to be accepted, all the 'edit' tags will be removed

There is no real adminstrative rights involved here and anyone can cut in, so it's good if we keep each other informed in this forum


PS: as far as proof reading is concerned, one of my computers has a sticky 'P' and so many times the 'P' is missing.

PSS: Yes I'm aware of the irony. Especially at my age. I'm all too aware...
