Cards only, no remotes or blasters or software (download it from Hauppauge's site). They were all working fine when removed from service. You don't need MCE to use them, plain old XP works fine. they'll also work with Vista (so I hear, I don't run Vista). They work great with GB-PVR.

I cant seem to be able to use the mouse to operate the onscreen controls while watching recordings. The keyboard controls work fine, just the mouse is inoperative, except maybe I think the mouse wheel will change channels. Is this feature a thing of the past or is my setup bogus. If it is not currently supported, is there an add-on remote that I could get(preferably RF so I dont have to worry about an IR receiver).

I've been using GBPVR successfully for quite some time now, but only watching recorded shows on the PC monitor. I purchased a MediaMVP some time ago, but am only now getting around to hooking it up. I'm having some issues getting it working I'm hoping some here will be able to help with.

What's working: the MVP connects to my PC and displays GBPVR menus. I can scroll around and make menu selections. However, when I select a show to watch, I get nothing but a black screen. I tried pushing just about every button on the remote to try to get back to the menu, but to no avail. The only way out is to reboot the MVP.

A secondary issue is that the MVP seems very slow in connecting... approximately 4 minutes from MVP power on to display of the GBPVR screen. Is there something that would be causing this? And could the two issues be related?

I've tried the default ini files for the common dp sats in north america and I've tried the modified nimq and dp files and I've tried subtracting the transponder frequency from 25600 and changing the H to a V and I still haven't been able to get a full channel list on a scan.

How can I capture all of the channels on those birds ?

1. do you need more than one tuner card to be ale to watch a show and record another?

2. Or is it possible to do this with one tunercard?

i have available 2 pci slots left

my current card "ATI TV Wonder™ HD 650 Combo PCI Express" is taking up a pci express slot.

3. if i got a "ATI TV Wonder™ HD 650 Combo PCI Express" i guess thats the same as mine but on a pci slot, then do you have to run another cale to the input of that card also?

I guess what im asking is at the main cable coming out of the wall, would i have to have a splitter and split the one main cable to 2 cales to feed each of the input? or is the fact that there is signal to only one card ok and the 2nd tuner card can get the signal through the motherboard or something weird like that?

PS, if thats the case and you need more than one card, since the card is only $140, should I just buy 2 and flll the slots up and be able to record 2 shows and watch on one - if that was the case and you needed more than one.

i just set up all of my other emulatore and had no problems.

i just set up zsnes and when i open up a game, i get a direct draw eror and no video

however, if i run zsnes dirctly, no problems.

i have the video size set up to 800 x 600 full screen on the zsnes settings.

same 800 x 600 on zsnes when ran directly from the program.

its like it has something to do with gbpvr trying to open up znes?

Please help. everything is absolutely running fine other than this hopefully last glitch

Does the SchedulesDirect Utilities work with the current version (1.2.13) of GBPVR?

If not, what plug in can I use to get the extended program information? (I'm in the US and using Schedules Direct)

This may seem like a real stupid question and I appologise if that is the case. I've got Freeview terrestrial working well in NZ but I also have a Sky dish that I was wondering if I could use.

Can I assume that without a Sky decoder box, I wont be able to get any channels off this dish? Or are there freeview ones available by just plugging the dish directly into my HRV 4000?

How about if I opened an account with cky to get other channels, would I still need the sky decoder or would the 4000 do that for me?

Again, sorryf or the newbieness of the question, still trying to get my head around the whole setup!

just wondering, for NZ Digital Freeview, Which vedio decoders are people having the most sucess with? Some that I have tried give very jerky pictures while athers are far smoother but dont play things like animations on TV ads very well.
Currently I'm using the Cyberlink decoders for the digital and high def stuff.

Anyone got any suggestions as to the most sucessful solution?

I'm just posting this in case someone runs into this before the next release of GB-PVR that is supposed to support the new Hauppauge beta drivers w/AC3 sound.

My HD-PVR was one of the early ones that suffered from overheating. I just had it replaced. The service was excellent from Hauppauge and my only complaint is the replacement they sent was TOO NEW! They sent me the Rev. D model (4901 INF). The problem is that the release 1.0b drivers don't support it! Per Hauppauge tech support, I need to use the beta drivers to support this new rev.

GB-PVR would work with the beta, but with no sound. Sub explained to me the issue was the beta drivers using AC3 audio and not AAC. AC3 support will be in the next release of GB-PVR. I resigned myself to watch TV with the TotalMediaExtreme software that came with it until then.

However, I discovered that if click Recording to watch the live TV preview, their are a couple of settings buttons. One of them allows you to toggle AC3 vs. AAC sound. Once I switched to AAC, exited the program, and fired up GB-PVR my sound returned!

This "trick" won't survive a reboot, you'll have to do it again if you power off your computer. But, if you're "lucky" like me and get a new rev, you can at least use this workaround for now.

Of note, there is also a setting in that program to disable what they call the "Bling LEDs" (the bright blue LED on the HD-PVR that lights when in use). Since my HD-PVR is right next to the TV, I find I like this bright distraction off in the dark room. I don't know if sub would see fit to make an option to toggle that in GB-PVR too since it can be done. Maybe I'll add it in the wishlist forum...
