Web Radio not working with uSirius
Posted by: scb147 - 2008-03-20, 03:10 AM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (13)

I'm trying to use Web Radio and uSirius together so I can listen to Sirius Internet Radio with GBPVR. uSirius logs a user into the system and gives either a mms URL (mms://), or an http URL (http://). Both the mms and http URLs work in WMP, so I'm not sure why it doesn't work with Web Radio.

What happens is once I enter Web Radio, it immediately exits me back to the main menu. This is what my RadioStations.xml looks like:

Code:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes"?> <Stations> <Station> <Type>Radio</Type> <Name>SIRIUS Hits 1</Name> <Icon>SIRIUS Hits 1.gif</Icon> <Target>http://66.25.10.68:19080/asx/asx?bandwidth=low&num=1&r=1205982035</Target> <Parameters></Parameters> <Description>SIRIUS Hits 1</Description> <HomeURL>http://66.25.10.68:19080</HomeURL> <CountryCode>us</CountryCode> </Station> </Stations>

Attached are my PVRX2-native and PVRX2 logs.

  Installation and startup clarifications?
Posted by: ggee - 2008-03-20, 02:56 AM - Forum: MVPMCX2 and other NMT stuff - Replies (8)

I know I am getting ahead of myself since my PCH hasn't arrived yet, but trying to read the material and I have a few questions.

Code:
5. Modify telnet.html in two places replacing EditMe with the name exactly as it is presented on the PCH screen. Note The %20 is the space
  • Presented where and what? I don't suppose You could provide a screen shot of this? Or maybe an example of what the new line would be.
Code:
6. Modify startmeup by removing the "#" character from the beginning of the line which is appropriate for your television . Some call it the hash, octothorpe, number or even pound sign, so I will call it a #.
  • Is that all I have to do? I see other posts of more command options but don't see any official list. Is there a README with a list of all the options?
  • Is the telnet server used by mvpmcx2/gbpvr or is it just for testing the user app functionality?
  • Should we add http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=2...ostcount=5 link or info about this topic to the survival guide?
Thanks,
Greg

Crazy hardware, can gbpvr customize guide data?
Posted by: daveg - 2008-03-20, 02:31 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (8)

I have gbpvr all working great. Fantastic program!

I have a funky setup of hardware at my house: I have analog cable but I also have a dish for just tv japan. Since it is only one channel, I filter cable's 75-80 range at the point of entry to the house and inject the one channel into the main cable. This way any tv can tune to channel 77 (otherwise unused) and see a Japanese program.

While all this works great, obviously schedules direct hasn't a clue.

The lineup for dish network has the data for TV-Japan (ch 640).

What I want to do if possible is to get my regular cable lineup data + TV Japan (combining 2 schedules-direct lineups on one capture card) AND renumber 640 down to 77. I can uncheck everything else from the second lineup to prevent overlap if it helps.

I understand this is a lot. If it is possible though, I'd like to do it.

Is there a way (other than just waiting for digital fios)?

  Scrolling Main Menu Annoyance
Posted by: robnotbob - 2008-03-20, 02:17 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

Thanks to sub for the new and improved version 1.2.9 Smile

However I do have a small isssue with the main menu. On previous versions when I pressed up or down to scroll (On either MCE remote or Keyboard) I could keep pressed until I reached the required selection and scrolling would stop instantly.

Now it appears that the scrolling continues ages after I release and a long way passed where I was heading.
The only way I can now navigate is to give quick individual key presses scrolling one selection at a time but even then I sometimes skip two places! Sad
This is only happening on the main menu, all other menus are fine.

Has anyone else suffered a similar problem?

Cheers
Rob

  Preview of my new skin
Posted by: Alienchild - 2008-03-19, 10:36 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (14)

Hi all!

I just downloaded and tested gbpvr yesterday, and found it to be a fantastic piece of software. Being a programmer myself I can appreciate the hard work that's behind a program like this, and the fact that it is free is absolutely amazing. As a thank you, I thought it contribute to the community by creating a skin (since my programming skills couldn't be of much use in this field), having played around in photoshop for quite a few years. The design is aimed for 1920x1080, although I have yet to actually input those variables in any XML file (I guess I'll find out as I go). Below are a couple of screenshots of the work I've done thus far. Hopefully you can provide me with some constructive criticism, so that I can improve it before it's released.

NB: On the second image, I've yet to move the buttons in the downright corner Wink

Oh, and if anyone can provide me with a tip on how to change the background image when I move into a menu, that would be great!

ATI 650 pci prob in Vista
Posted by: mikiem - 2008-03-19, 10:09 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (19)

Hi
Wanted to see if anyone had any thoughts, things that I might try, magic spells etc... I’m trying to get an ATI branded theater 650 (pci) card working with QAM in Vista Home Prem. SP1 (32) – on a dual boot machine it seems to work fine in XP Pro SP3 (RC2). Before I describe my problems though, in fairness I want to say that there are currently some ATI driver issues that may/may not be coming into play; I’ve listed them separately below.

The 650 pci is a so-called hybrid tuner, where it’s either digital or analog but never both. The analog tuner works well just about everywhere – either OS & almost every program I’ve tried it with, including GB-PVR. The digital tuner works in just about any app that handles BDA in XP, but so far only in Vista’s Media Center. In Vista, with only the digital tuner set up, as ATSC or QAM, Config’s Channel Mapping can’t find any channels. Once it finishes it’s scan, the dialog pops up like it should (saying no channels found), but once you click OK all 3 Config windows lock. The only way to close Config is to re-boot.

In graphedt, assembling my best guess of the graph GB-PVR lists in it’s log produces a black window, but then I don’t see any way to select any channels in the graph either, so that may be normal. Once Config stalls, running the same graph gives an error message that the “requested resource is in use. (Return code 0x800700aa)”. However, running the Tuning Assistant the analog tuner seems to be working just fine. This makes me think that maybe one or more of the BDA graph components is being accessed, but not the card itself – otherwise the analog portion wouldn’t work since it can only be analog or digital – and that might explain why channel mapping both doesn’t find anything and won’t (maybe can’t) release whatever to shut down.
-------------------

ATI driver problems:... ATI’s got some driver problems right now that are “somewhat” well known – you might not hear anything about it and then stumble on a couple of 50+ page problem threads. I want to be up-front in saying that, while I don’t believe the problem I posted – not finding any digital channels – is related/caused by ATI’s current driver mess, I could be wrong. I’d much rather have someone say that they don’t want to screw with it because of the driver situation, instead of getting upset later, wanting to know why I never mentioned anything.

1) ATI’s 8.3 graphics card drivers have some compatibility problems, and it’s difficult if not impossible to revert back to version 8.2. 2) Both ATI & Nvidia are having problems that show up in Vista as the driver crashing and recovering, often leading to a system crash. 3) ATI is *probably* still trying to get their digital tuner drivers working in Vista & for QAM... This is based on both threads I’ve read & ATI telling me (& others) that they would release a new CMC if/when they got things working.

In my case I’m experiencing problems trying to revert back to CCC driver set 8.2 – settings are retained from 8.3 so that the avivo pages in CCC cause a crash (in Vista it’s the ATIKmdag crash I mentioned above). In 8.3, *analog* (only) channel scans in CMC cause a crash in XP. Flipping analog channels rapidly in either OS can cause a random, intermittent crash – going back to 8.2 cures that problem, but introduces the (dueling?) avivo conflict. The 650 drivers are unchanged since 12/07.

Recording occurs on both tuners, not just the one!
Posted by: garyeuph - 2008-03-19, 08:02 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (15)

Hi,

I sem to be having problems with back to back recordings. I have both tuners available, and correctly, as the time comes for the second recording to start it commences on the second tuner. BUT when the post padding on the first recording finishes, it then starts a duplicate of the second recording on the original tuner.

I have attached the logs, the relevant events are at

2008-03-19 08:03:00.109 'First recording starts'
2008-03-19 08:33:00.000 'Second Recording Starts'
2008-03-19 08:39:00.703 'Second recording starts AGAIN'

I have also attached my config in case that helps.

Thanks

  Tearing after stanby wakeup
Posted by: Elmo Putney - 2008-03-19, 07:52 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

I've been using gbpvr for about a month now and I'm slowly ironing the bugs out of my setup.

I have noticed a new problem, i am not sure if it arrived with the new release or the updated ATI cataylist drives, or in fact anything else I've played with in the last 2 weeks.

If I wake my machine up from stanby I get poor video performance on live tv, i get horizontal tearing half way down the screen and a few other glitches. exiting pvrx2 and re-starting fixes the issue.

I have tried S1 S2 and hibernate and they all do the same thing, if I exit pvrx2 before standby then its ok (same as restarting pvrx2).

I have attached logs in which I have done a fresh boot, gone to live tv, exited live tv, standby then resume.

CPU doesnt show any significant spikes at any time.

I have a few other gripes like C4 E4 having a stutter every 2 minutes or so, but its minor compared to my wake up issue.

XP home, Gigabyte 690 m/b, onboard ATI x1200, athlon x2 be2300 cpu, HDMI to the TV. .Net 1 2 & 3, EVR.........

  HDHomeRun for sale
Posted by: philly_phenom - 2008-03-19, 04:21 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (5)

Just bought this, and GBPVR does a great job with it (HD recordings look fantastic on my 1920x1080 monitor), but I haven't been able to figure out how to get my ps3 to play back these recordings in my living room and don't have any more time to fool with it, I'm listing it for sale.

Never mind - I just listed it on ebay.
