I finally took the plunge and purchased an MVP after using GBPVR for ~3 yrs since my dedicated GBPVR box (and its video out card) died. I've since made my new day-to-day computer which runs Vista my GBPVR machine and plan to run the video to my TV via the MVP. I hope to receive the MVP in a day or two.
I've since seen that people have had various issues getting the MVP to work with Vista and GBPVR and had to resort to different dongles. It appears that the most success has come from the mvpmc dongle, although I've seen some people have tried the new Hauppage dongle.
Since most people only post when there is a problem, it is difficult to determine whether any particular solution works best. Does anyone have a stable working setup with Vista + MVP? Any good advice?
I'm running 1.2.9 and any playback crashes about 5 minutes into any video recording (I don't use it live). I run PVRX2 in mvpmode and this is what crashes. When I look at my MVP-PVRX2.exe.log, I see the following:
Quote:2008-03-18 21:38:10.405 ERROR [6] Unexpected error sending frame: System.ObjectDisposedException: Cannot access a disposed object.

This is only a problem when I run it on my Hauppauge. It works fine when I run PVRX2 on my PC.
This used to work on an older version. Can anyone help? I've got movies that need to be watched!
I'm running into a problem trying to do live TV playback of QAM ATSC content from my HVR-1600. I'm running in a client/server setup and when I select a HD channel from the guide it begins recording properly and the .ts file shows up as expected in the buffer folder. I can play the .ts file in Zoom Player and I can even copy the file and play it from the video section of PVRX2. The problem is that when I try to play it live I get this error in the log:

I'm running in streaming mode and analog channels seem to work fine so I'm not sure what the issue is.
I've attached my log file and any help would be greatly appreciated!
I am new to this software... i have gotten the channel search and guide setup, but i am only getting Video on a coulpe channels, other channels give me just audio or nothing. I have installed every codec i can find. I am trying to use this build for Clear QAM. I have used the TV Pro software that came with the tuner card, and i have great sucess veiwing HD (QAM) but didn't like the recording or the interface.. so far i love what i see with GBPVR, now i just need to see more
2.4ghz
3gb ram
Pinnacle HDTV Card
ATI X1250 HD 700mb shared
XP Pro Service pack 2
Cyberlink - Divx - Media PLayer 11 - The Core Media Player - TV Pro Center $ Beta w/Clear Qam
I installed CCCP - K Lite - Divx 6.8
26" Sanyo LCD
I've mapped my directories to network shares, that way if I ever have to change the drive or folder I just rename the share, and GBPVR is fine.
In EWA statistics, I get this:
Recordings Directory: Could not load disk info for \\ghz\Video
LiveTV Buffer Directory: Could not load disk info for \\ghz\Video
The share sits on the same box as the server. Perhaps we have a workaround?
