I have some HD AVCHD .MTS files from a sony camcorder which I am trying to get working on the MVP. I have installed PowerDVD 7 for the codec to play the files in WMP which works great. They also play on PVRX2 Video library on my GBPVR server, but trying to play the files on MVP reboots it. The log says 'forcefailure', so I guess it either cant or wont transcode the AVCHD files to mpg for the MVP.
When I schedule shows for recording and I play them back using VLC player... I noticed that out off 10 shows I scheduled to record .. the program will record all of them but only 3-4 will have video and sound.. all others have no sound at all or a buzzing sound... Is this something that I can troubleshoot...?
The only way to fix the problem is to restart the computer...
The only settings I see if audio encoding for playback.. what about decoding for recording? where do I change that?
Is there a thread that I'm missing that explains how to resolve no muxers showing up? I upgraded from win2k to xp mce sp2. Bda mux checker was showing no muxers installed, so I went and grabbed the twinham mux and regsrv'd it, and still no mux. So then I nuked the drive and installed xp mce from scratch, still no dvr-ms mux. I'm using a Fusion 5 Gold ATSC, and gbpvr scans channels fine and the latest Dvico suite displays them, but I can't get anything going in gbpvr.

I'm really not looking to buy anything extravagant but I'm overwhelmed by the list of tuners and don't even know where to begin looking through all of the possibilities.
I currently just have a Plextor ConvertX PX-M402U but it doesn't switch channels, it just feeds composite in one direction directly through and into the computer (no tuner). So I'm currently running the composite out from my vcr and having to manually set the vcr's tuner to a channel whenever I want to record.
I don't really need multiple tuners or even a remote, just a straightforward low-priced single-tuner card without remote to put an analog cable tv connection into and that works well. If there are recommendations, especially from Sub, I'd appreciate it.
I am a total noob at any form of dvr software. I think I have two different problems, but I'll list them both here in case they are linked.
When I start gb-pvr I get an error message:
GB-PVR has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
I can move this error window aside though, and go about using gb-pvr.
When I try to watch TV though, it get a message in gb-pvr "No channels have been set up. Please run the Configuration utility and setup EPG source...."
I have done this, a few times to be sure. I got my EPG from SchedulesDirect.
I am using a Pinnacle PCTV HD Pro Stick.
questions: Is there any more info I should have added to this post?
Why am I getting the error message?
Why, even though I have an EPG set up and can see all the channel listings (no program info though) is it telling me I have to do that before I can watch TV?
Is there any other recommended EPG sources? possibly free?
I want to define my own popup message boxes for different purposes so that the popup calback handler can differentiate between them. The following is an example...
Code:
public class ScanChannelsPopup : GBPVRX2.Popups.PopupMessageBox
{
public ScanChannelsPopup(IUiPopupCallback popupCallback, string message, string button1Command, string button2Command)
: base(popupCallback, message, button1Command, button2Command)
{
}
}
When I use setPopup(new ScanChannelsPopup(blah)), PVRX2 throws an object reference not set...exception. It seems it's doing this when trying to render.
Code:

Is there a problem with deriving from PopupMessageBox or am I just being thick?
I just tried out mvpmc dongle release 0.3.4 in order to play my digitally recorded videos that have AC3, and it works surprisingly well. It extends the life of my MVP for some time, while the other technological solutions (PCH, etc.) settle down.
But I remember some time ago about a discussion on improving lip sync, maybe with the remote buttons, but can't seem to find it. My sync is not at all bad, the video leads the audio by maybe 100 msec or even less, but if there were a simple setting (as in a config file) to improve it, I think that would be worthwhile. Is that presently possible?
I continue to have the recording service crashes at the most inopportune moments... while recording Lost or Survivor, the two shows my family likes the most. The error in the Event Viewer is always this:
[INDENT]Faulting application gbpvrrecordingservice.exe, version 1.0.2873.22918, stamp 00000034, faulting module sbe.dll, version 6.5.2600.2180, stamp 411096b1, debug? 0, fault address 0x000239c2.

Sub has explained that this dll is part of the DVR-MS mux and there's really nothing gbpvr can do about it. It may happen more often when I have two recordings going at once, but I don't think that's always the case. Is anyone else experiencing this problem, or even better, has anyone found a way to fix it?
I'd prefer to record in .ts format but you can't watch recordings in progress. I've used the ATI and Cyberlink mpg mux, but not with good results, so dvr-ms format is really the only option for me. If I can't get this resolved though I guess I'm going to have to give up watching in-progress recordings and go back to .ts. Has anyone else experienced this problem with sbe.dll?
I have been using GBPVR with an Haupauge HVR1600 and windows XP for over a year now. My digital QAM recordings were perfect. I was able to play them back with GBPVR and also stream them to my TV with my DSM 520 media lounge. I recorded them in TS format.
I have since installed Vista on my machine and setup the latest GBPVR version. Since then my Qam recordings just don't work. I've tried numerous different video and audio decoders with very little succes. The best I've been able to achieve is playback on my media lounge with picture and no audio.
