I'm not sure if I'm posting in the right place, but we have had some GBPVR users contact us about using our new xmltvDownload client which complies with ozTiVo.net's 31-March-2008 Guide API change over. You can find our xmltvDownload client here.

After much debating with self and reading this forum about HVR-1600 and discovering HDHomeRun, I ordered HDHR yesterday expecting delivery today.
What is the best way to configure HDHR with 3 PC’s o/s Win XP sp2 on a hardwire Ethernet network. PC#1 has PVR150 (currently using GBPVR very well), PC#2 and PC#3 (GBPVR not installed) has no tuners.
Do I use GBPVR network streaming capabilities using PC#1 as a server for PC#2 and PC#3 as GBPVR clients!
Or can I setup designate HDHR tuners for PC#2 and PC#3 with GBPVR installed!
I have a situation where I can't use wired ethernet between the PC and the MEdiaMVP (I live in an apartment). I will probably be adding a Popcorn Hour unit for use with another television set once there is GBPVR support for it. I don't think that wireless would give the reliable throughput I need for this use.
The best solution seems to be to use powerline ethernet adapters. They seem to come in two categories: those promising up to 85 Mbps throughput and those promising up to 200Mbps.
Some of the brands I've found are: Linksys, IOGear (Homeplug), Netgear, D-Link, and ZyXEL.
I assume that I should go for the newer 200 units to try to get the best throughput. Other than that I can not find reliable third party reviews of these units.
Does anyone have any experience with powerline ethernet for use with MediaMVP.
In the past month or so I have had issues when launching the config. It will act like it is trying to run the installer and complains that the setup files are not there. To temporarily fix this I will download the installer (latest version) and put it on my desktop. When I run the config it find the installer and completes the process and lets me into the config. I have ran the repair as well, but I still get the above scenario from time to time.
Now when I try to start the config, I get a message that it thinks the installer is running and tells me to finish the install first. I should have fixed the original problem in the first place.
I've done a lot of searching and trying different guide-type plugins but I'm struggling trying to find what I'm looking for - although I wouldn't be surprised if its right under my nose. All I'm looking for is a way to simply show the movies that are in the current guide. When using something like searchwiz you have to provide something to search on - you can't just use 'movies' as a filter and have it list everything - unless there's a setting or something I haven't found yet. Anyone have any suggestions?? Thanks in advance.

I have been happily (modding) ok simplifying stattik's transcode script and while installing GBPVR on a development machine came up with a few GBPVR wishlist items that could be helpful. #1,2 and 6 have the most bang for the buck so to speak.
1) can the digital channel mapping preview screen be made separate or bigger - you should see the fun I have trying to map 30 channels in QAM while trying to look at that teeny screen for the watermark in the corner
2) volume buttons on the OSD for us hardcore mousers (I am of the gray variety if anyone needs to know :0)
3) more options on the config (how about the splitter we use) and if really crazy how about the ability to choose splitter and decoder by filetype
4) separate priority orders for watch live TV / record
5) Activate / deactivate sources without deleting them
6) Oh - and I believe there is a small issue with the live on-screen guide - with the new version I could see the program description but the old I couldn't until I modded that skin (attached for your viewing pleasure)
This happened to me once before. I 'fixed' it just by unplugging/replugging the cable into the tuner card. No dice this time around. It almost looks like my channels are mismapped or something but I haven't changed anything on the system. I did find that I'm getting a Null Reference Exception in my log file when attempting to update EPG. Possibly related? Here's the error:
2008-02-28 22:47:08.671 ERROR [1] Unexpected error informing recording service that EPG has updated: System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

Searched the forums, I found a couple of references, but no solutions to my problem.
Have the following hardware:
- Server: HVR 1600 capturing video via S-Video Analog, Athlon XP 2400+, 1.5 GB DDR, 30 GB OS Drive, 160 GB Capture Drive and SATA off Raid card 320 GB Archive Drive, GBPVR 1.1.5
- Client: Athlon Core Cuo TK-57, 2 GB DDR, GBPVR 1.1.5 streaming from Server over 802.11g
As some already know, I recently rebuilt the Server machine. Prior to rebuild, I did not have the thin client, but other than some network issues, my captures were just fine. After rebuild, with some tweaking and troubleshooting assistance from the board, everything is working very well with one exception. I am finding a horizontal line right across the middle of my recordings and LiveTV. The line is not constant. It flashes briefly every few seconds or so. I see the line via the Client's monitor or the TV hooked to the MVP. I took a recording, threw it up in Vegas Pro and found that the line is in the recording. Here is a snapshot of what I am seeing:
Again, I did not have this line prior to rebuilding the computer. Any suggestions/comments?
(Chris and K, I'm going to follow-up on the Popcorn Hour comments here because I don't always follow what going on in the other forums.)
I'm glad you both got telnet working. Be aware that the message the telnet is enabled is just that a print to the screen and no confirmation that it works.
Also as a heads up my preference will be to run the emulation mode client from a share and not from the usb stick so you are going to be on your own testing from the stick. To me it's not worth the hassle as I am making changes too often to use the stick. I'll try and post some comments on doing it via the mvpmc share when I have a chance.
