  Multidec question
Posted by: Sheik Yerbouti - 2008-02-05, 07:46 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (11)

OK, I finally got my Phoenix cardreader working and now I'm trying to set up a multidec plugin. I've placed mdapifilter.ax and FFDecsa.dll in the gbpvr directory, registered mdapifilter.ax, activated multidec in config and added a multidec plugin (Yankse) in the MDplugins directory.
Now my question is: even if my multidec plugin setup is totaly wrong, shouldn't I still be seeing an Icon in the tray when I'm trying to view an encrypted channel? Right now, nothing appears, so I'm kind off lost here. Could this be a Vista problem?

Not showing music, video, photo folders
Posted by: gazoo - 2008-02-05, 07:27 PM - Forum: NextPVR Enhanced Web Admin (NEWA) - Replies (5)

When I go to those tabs, nothing comes up. I have these setup correctly in the config tool. These are 3 mounted drives to a network connected NAS system and the folders are read-only. Don't know if that makes a difference.

Also, the NAS takes 8 seconds to come out of sleep when an app tries to access it. So I'm thinking that EWA tries at a certain time to check these folders out and it may have been asleep and it didn't wait long enough and it was pronounced unavailable.

Please let me know how to force a re-read or something.

Thanks.

  config.xml cross-reference for MVP
Posted by: cps22 - 2008-02-05, 07:16 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (2)

I've been searching the threads for some info on what the specific MVP parameters do within config.xml.

My MVP works well, but the image on the TV seems slightly blurry, not terrible, just not as clear as when the TV is directly tuned to a cable station. This blurry condition occurs when watching live TV or a previously recorded program. I imagine the blurriness could resemble watching TV if one needed glasses, but didn't have them on. Could the blurry image be caused by being too bright?

So my thinking is that there are some minor tweaks that could make the TV image clearer.

My PC system has 2.4GHZ CPU with 1GB RAM, with tons of disk.

Sub and the history of GB-pvr
Posted by: treads6464 - 2008-02-05, 06:21 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (10)

Sub,

Many of us have come here and started using GB-pvr because no other system is as easily set up on a Windows machine. What I am wondering is how did GB-pvr start out? Were you originally a Mythtv user or something else and one day you just decided to make it simpler and better? Among my family, GB-pvr has become a staple since i started using it not too long ago. Aside from just a hobby, what drove you to first start this thing and what still drives you to make it better with every release? Between your program and the plugins that many have created, as well as the awesome help here on the forums, you have created something quite grand and I just am interested to know what sparked it. It probably isn't said enough, but thank you Sub and all of the other contributors to this program, it has made my entertainment experience awesome!

  Suddenly Crashing
Posted by: Sweaves - 2008-02-05, 01:56 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

Woke up this morning to a crash screen from GBPVR, tried starting the program again to no avail, tried a reboot and it crashed as soon as it tried to load. Uninstalled and reinstalled, still nothin, and no matter what i try to run (Tray, Config, or Main program) they all give the same crash screen.

I know its not the hardware because i can still watch TV through the default program.

  MovieWiz performance questions
Posted by: Dan Soussi - 2008-02-05, 01:04 PM - Forum: SearchWiz & MovieWiz - Replies (4)

Hi JW,

When MW is used with a large number (500+) movies, it has some speed issues on start up and switching between categories, even with "save images in db" enabled it is sluggish. Although moving sequentially through the movie list is responsive. Any suggestions on other setting to use to speed things up?

I've also noted that MW consumes a large amount of RAM when operating (300-400MB). I gather this is normal. My MovieWiz.db3 is about 30MB.

MW version 1.0.14.1 is the best yet. Keep up the great work.

Was working, now "no tuners are available"
Posted by: Anjow - 2008-02-05, 12:56 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (12)

I'm using an Asus MyCinema U3000-mini USB tuner and I had it working this morning. Now it doesn't work, giving the error:

"No tuners are available to watch the requested channel. You can choose to watch one of the currently recording programmes."

As far as I'm aware I haven't changed anything to make it to this aside from disabling the screen saver function in the misc preferences. After I exited config it started displaying this error whenever I try and view live TV or use the TV guide to navigate to a channel then watch it.

Logs are attached. Not sure of any other pertinent details to include.

Does PVRX2 keep the windows screen away?
Posted by: psycik - 2008-02-05, 04:54 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

And can it be told not to? I'd like to use the Hibernator which is activated as a screen saver, but have noticed if PVRX2 in full screen (no FSE here) then the windows screen saver is not activated.

Is that a configurable setting? I turned off the pvrx2 screen saver since I saw messages to the effect of "Stopping screen saver to activating" and don't see those messages again, but still the windows screen saver wont come on.

EPG has hardly anything in it
Posted by: jonm - 2008-02-04, 11:19 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (14)

I'm having problems with the EPG on my new build. When I request an EPG update something is definitely happening, there are a load of files like this created in my recordings directory:

4/02/2008 23:09 100,144,834 gbepg-T10714,H,22000,56-1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8.dvr-ms

But when the process has finished, most channels are blank, some have the odd programme or two listed.

Logs are attached from an epg update run.

Thanks for any help with this, it's really bugging me!

Jon.

  Live TV stuttering
Posted by: 9rpp - 2008-02-04, 10:56 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

Hi, I have recently setup an HTPC using GBPVR. Everything works great except for LiveTV. I have a Theater 550 pro, TV plays fine initially, but after about 15mins of TV watching, the video and audio would stutter, and restarting the program is the only way to resolve the issue. Any thoughts?
