I've been using my HVR1600 since the summer and I am very happy with the results. Now it's time to add a second one, which I picked up over the weekend.
Is there any backing up I should do before I install the new board?
I'm using HVR1600 in a P3 Dual 1 GHZ CPU w/1 GHZ memry. Will the second HVR1600 cause any problems with the old P3? Will it 'bog' down the whole system?
The response from within search wiz v1.0.12.0 seems very sluggish for me (mouse and item selection). I did not notice this with an earlier version (not sure which one). i am running a 2.66mhz core 2 duo so the performance issue is surprising to me (os is vista). Also, I get booted back to the main menu sometimes after selecting a new filter. Anyone have any idea what i might have messed up? Thanks.
I'm testing gbpvr and i'm enjoying it a lot, especially because it supports a second monitor automatically, but the problem is that i'm running it on a 1360x768 50' screen plasma, and the image on the menus seems a little blur (like if it was on a low resolution and expanded to fit the screen).
So how can i change resolution to 1360x768, i've checked the wiki and found nothing.
What is Pre/Post padding? Because I thought it was a way to make it start recording and run longer then what was programmed into the guide... say you wanted to make sure you recorded a whole football game so you would add post padding of 60 minutes to make it record over the alloted time on the guide... am I wrong?
I am using XGuide with the Community3 skin. I've attached a screen print of the current appearance.
I would like to make a couple changes to its appearance.
1) I would like to make the font of the Program Names in the Guide larger. The current font is small and OK for viewing on my PC but I use XGuide over a MediaMVP and they are too small for viewing at a distance on a television.
2) I would like to make the Episode Title (at the bottom of the screen) appear in Yellow.
There are several skin.xml files and it is not clear which parameters in which files should be changed to make the changes I desire. Please identify the files and entries to be changed. Thanks for any help.
I've tried making hit or miss changes but each change must be followed by closing PVRX2 and then restarting it, a process that is quite slow and, even then, I can't be sure what unintended effects there might be because of the changes I just made.
Just checking the MVP logs for an error I've had and noticed there are now only two files where there used to be up to 4 before I upgraded to PVRX2 version.
For the MVP I used to see .....exe.log .....exe-1.log ......exe-2.log .......exe-3.log (i.e. a rolling history)
I now only ever see MVP-PVRX2.exe.log and MVP-PVRX2.exe-3.log irrespective of the number of restarts etc.
All the other logs seem to have 4 files (current and 3 historical)
When I watch live TV and hit the "dvd menu" button on the mce remote, it will bring me back to the main menu, and the live TV will keep playing under a small window.
Which combination of keys would do that by using the keyboard?
Once again the wind here is gusting at over 35mph and once again my broadband connection is dropping out on a regular basis as my phone line swings like a skipping rope outside. Speak to my ISP and line providers??? Don't even go there - over the past few months they've been playing an impressive game of 'Pass the Buck' between them.
So...anyone in the UK got any experience of mobile broadband? Cost, reliability, speed etc.?
To be honest, I'm not too bothered about being mobile, just having a service which will work over a mobile phone connection so I can tell my telephone line provider and ISP where they can stick their services. Where the sun don't shine springs to mind.
Being just west of London, mobile phone coverage is pretty good and both my phones are showing max. signal strength here in my home office. If I can get a sensible speed at reasonable cost with good reliability, I'd be seriously tempted.
