I am sure this has come up before but can't locate it.
Anyway for the past couple of days I've not been able to watch TV in the morning, I get a blank screen then it returns to the menu. This happens on both client and server PCs. There is nothing being recorded at the time all tuners are apparently sleeping.
The way to get round it is to restart the recording service.
everytime time i try to play a trailer the mvp just crashes and returns to the page where it says 'emulation mode, filesystem' etc etc
so i followed the sticky to create the two .bat files, set up a scheduled task in windows vista but still they stay as .mov files. i also have quicktime alternative installed but the mvp still crashes.
I'm using Zprocess2 to control the transcoding to my MVP and I'm only getting 50% cpu usage from mencoder.exe. Both "cores" (windows shows as 2 cpus in task manager) are at half load so I'm wondering how to get up to 100% so that transcoding finishes sooner.
Perhaps this is just an issue with mencoder?

It seems my wife doesn't care about recording programs. She wants just the Live TV, and I have to set it up to justify the purchase of HVR-1600. Here goes a few questions:
1. Is there a way to start PVRX2 directly into the Live TV mode?
2. When in windowed mode, is it possible to remove the title bar?
3. Is it possible to minimize PVRX2 when in full-screen mode? Is using Alt-Tab not possible when using VMR9 Fullscreen Exclusive?
4. Is it possible to switch between full-screen and windowed mode?
5. Is it possible to "sleep" Live TV (not playing video/audio - hence minimal CPU consumption, but staying tuned to the current channel for quick response), instead of pausing (which records current channel to HDD)?
6. Is it possible to run PVRX2 without the tray icon and recording service? It looks when the recording service is stopped, Live TV doesn't start.
7. Does the key mapping work with Mouse events? If so, how? BTW, there is no mute key mapping, right?
8. Strangely, No codec except Intervideo (including HCW, ATI, MPEG) worked with HD channels. Simply no video on HD channels (sound is ok), though there is no problem with SD channels. The symptom is consistent regardless of renderer or mux. Any idea? (I do need other codecs because one very important SD channel is displayed corrupted with InterVideo codec: green bar on top and green noise smudging from the top green bar, while showing good with other codecs.)
I have the Hauppauge PVR USB2 tuner, and it's *#$*&#$.... I already have a Hauppauge 150 in the pci slot (and it works great). I' don't have other pci slots, so I'm stuck having to go via the USB route. Can anyone recommend a good usb tuner that 1. would be compatible with a remote control (i'm wondering how it will work to have two different brands of tuners); 2. works well with the HP 150, and 3. works well (period).
Checking out this card as a possible purchase for my SWEET new PVR! Planning on running it on an older Win2k system. Specs below. The question I have is what's so special about this thing being the Media Center Edition? Will it be just as happy with GBPVR as say a PVR150? I understand I'll need an MPEG2 decoder. Does GBPVR have one? I noticed all the pointers on Win2k on the home page. I will adhere to them of course. Check out my SCREAMAH as we might say here in Maine!

Ive been succesfully recording to DVR-ms since found this brilliant program but have started to venture into transcoding.
Firstly, the programme never deletes the original recording as the slection box on the post processing tab suggests it should.
I also seem to get a huge number of randomly named files (such as gbepg-TC23,490000,0,0,8.dvr-ms) in the recording directory, but they show nothing and they even appear when i havent recorded or time-shifted.
Lastly (sorr to go on!) when i transcode to Divx and play the transcoded file in any programme (includeing GBPVR) the aspect ration is different to the recording?
