Sub, a user sent me a PM (two actually) and although I responded with my typical reply that I don't support via PM I was annoyingly told that the users had disable PMs. Does the forum allow you to make a rule so users can't sent PM's unless they allow PMs?
I imported the M3U links as a playlist, and when starting one of these channels, I get video but no audio. There is no audio stream available to select, as shown in the attached screenshot.
When running these links with VLC or ffplay, the sound works fine. I have already tried using AC3Filter and LAV Decoder as audio decoders, but I didn’t see any improvement.
Attached are the logs.
Can anyone suggest how to resolve the audio issue?
I have 7.0.1.241229 running on a Win 10 machine. I have an HD HomeRun for over the air content and IPTV service where I have about 20 channels added. I know that a .ts file is created when I am recording form the HD HomeRun. I usually play it back using Kodi on an Nvidia Shield. I often watch while the recording is still in progress and rarely have issues. The .ts files generally play well in Kodi but somtimes do not play well in other players like VLC. Mainly the issue is when trying to skip or jump to a different time.
But when I record from one of the IPTV channels the .ts file seems to have problems even in Kodi and the NPVR browser client. When I watch the IPTV channel live it is fine. But when I record the channel, the video will play back in the NPVR browser client, but I can't skip through it. I will also have issues playing it back in Kodi on the Shield and also VLC. When I look at the .ts file in MediaInfo it doesn't really look any different than the .ts files recorded from the HD Homerun. Is recording IPTV channels just a bad idea, or am I doing something wrong?
On one recording I started watching it on Kodi about 20 minutes into a 30 minute recording. The first 20 minutes of the video played fine and I could jump forward and backward. But at about 20 minutes in, it started jumping around and freezing and having all kinds of issues. I also noticed the computer where NPVR stores the .ts files, the .ts.map file had not been deleted like it usually is.
One other thing that I should mention is that I do have a really old version of Kodi on the Shield which therefore has an old version of the NextPVR add-on
This feels like a dumb question because I am sure I saw this option previously but now can't find it for the life of me, and no mention of it here or anywhere.
I am sure I saw an option in Kodi along the lines of "save pause position in Kodi or in NextPVR or both" or something like that.
I (often but not always) suffer from a bit of random returns to beginning when skipping in a recording and am hoping varying this setting might help.
I have been running 4.2.4 for years and was hesitant to upgrade since it was working fine. But I was having issues adding IPTV channels (I couldn't prevent it from adding all of the channels and then NPVR was too slow to use). So I upgraded to the latest version using the method here:
After the install, a web browser window opened to localhost:8866 so it was showing 4.2.4 (since 8866 is the v4 port and it was still running). I closed the window, copied over the v4 config.xml and the npvr.db3 files to the C:\Users\Public\NPVR-data directory, edited the config.xml file to change the port to 8867 then started the web browser again with localhost:8867 and the latest version opened in the browser window. Everything seems to be working fine, but for some reason when I view a channel, the video quality is worse and every 10-15 seconds it pauses for maybe 1 sec. After a few minutes the pauses seem to stop. I close the browser and opened the old V4 app and tuned to the same channel and looked better and there were no pauses. I also notice that changing channels takes much longer and once the channel changes, the pausing starts again. Is there some setting that could be causing this? BTW, my tuner is an HD HomeRun and I'm watching broadcast channels from my antenna, my machine is a Windows 10 machine and the browser is Chrome.
Hello everyone,
My software has a problem where the video only has sound but no image. I tried the website, and it still works fine. How can I fix this? Thank you in advance!
I've noticed I'm getting a lot of empty directories on my recordings disc.
When a recording is made, a suitably named directory file is created and contains the recording plus the support files (thumbnails etc).
After watching the recording using the NPVR client, if you go the delete option, the recording and support files are deleted but their directory file is not. It just sits there empty.
Strangely, if the recording is watched from a browser and the recording deleted, the recording files AND directory file get deleted.
I've not checked but wondered if this is related to recordings which go into a "series" subdirectory. i.e is the subdirectory being deleted but its parent isn't (even though it's empty)
