excessive xml epg files in %temp%
Posted by: ReenigneArcher - 2021-07-30, 09:12 PM - Forum: NextPVR Support - Replies (2)

Hello,

I discovered an issue.

I have 168 GB of xml epg files in my %temp% folder. I deleted these about 1 month ago as I had no space left on my main drive, only to discover the issue again.

I have a temporary solution to run this command at the end of my update epg bat file, but this is not the ideal solution.

Code:
forfiles -p %temp% -s -m *.bak* /D -1 /C "cmd /c del /q @path"

I run my update epg bat once every hour and there are 3 files created in %temp% 2 minutes after I start the update. I am fairly certain these are not created by any actions in my scripts, but by NextPVR.

I am on Version: 5.1.0.201216.

  Setup Nightmare
Posted by: Lee Thompson - 2021-07-30, 02:50 AM - Forum: Windows - Replies (5)

As far as upgrading goes the upgrade from NextPVR 4 to 5 went as smooth as you can expect.

The nightmare is I decided to rescan channels on my HDHomeRun (3 tuners), NextPVR 4 would see that they are the same device technically and ask if I wanted to copy the channel setup.  NextPVR 5 does not do this.   I ended up with having to hand remove about 200 unused channels from each tuner, by hand.    You can't even quickly select a bunch of checkboxes in a range.

I then did an auto-merge but when that was finished, I still had duplicates:

44 CNN
44 Cable News Network

I'm having to do these, by hand, by unchecking everything and checking the two channels, and selecting merge.   It then is merging it and forgetting the schedules direct mapping so I get to fix that after I finish with this.

Absolute nightmare.

does all and sundry have this working with kodi 19.1? as soon as i upload my community to the field inside the plex server and try to play something from p.c it spins for likely a full minute earlier than gambling if at all and that i do not appear so one can resume playback for some thing. as soon as i dispose of my community and depart the field clean the whole thing works excellent.showbox speed test

Failed to start requested stream / Streaming Failed (transcoder exited)
Posted by: prog-amateur - 2021-07-29, 06:51 PM - Forum: Linux - Replies (10)

Hello, I'm new to LiveTV on computer but I learned a lot. I was able to install Next-PVR on a Debian server (Intel 64 bits CPU) with a Hauppauge Win-TV ministick as DVB-T device.

The scan is fine, the french channels are recognized, but the EPG guide is not recognized (in the popup, there is a timer for each channel frequency, but the final result shows 0).

Then, I click on "save", and when I click on a channel, the video doesn't start, there is an error message: very often "Failed to start requested stream" or "Streaming Failed (transcoder exited)".

I tested a w_scan command on my laptop (Debian too) with the same DVB-T stick, and VLC can read the channels from the .xspf file).

Please find attached my log files (fortunately, I have tried everything today, so the logs are not too long).

In another thread, a member has the same issue than me, but his solution looks like unclear (and I don't know how to change channels names, and by which name I should change them), and he did not feedback to explain what happen if he change back the channel name to the previous one.

Could you please help me? This is, I hope, the last step before I can finally see LiveTV on my computer.

Thanks a lot !!!!

  Unable to Stream One Channel
Posted by: bweston6 - 2021-07-29, 02:57 PM - Forum: Linux - Replies (7)

As the title says I can play all TV channels apart from BBC One. The messages given are: "Streaming Failed (transcoder exited)"/"Failed to start requested stream". I've restarted the server with no change and my logs are attached. It doesn't seem to be a reception issue as all the other channels on the BBC A mux have no issues.

  Got Locast Working- Some thoughts--
Posted by: biggoronjon - 2021-07-29, 01:08 AM - Forum: Extras - Replies (5)

I got the Locast extra working on Windows after a few tries-

-I had to edit fcc_dma_markets.json to add my market.
-Auto Mapping with Schedules Direct didn't work for me.   I ended up doing it manually to get it going.

Locast is behind the main broadcast a few minutes in my area so +3 minute padding is necessary at the minimum.
