I upgraded to the latest build yesterday for both Linux and Windows and found on my Windows NextPVR server I have no artwork displayed for the show in the web app. Linux server shows the artwork so it's only Windows that seems to have the issue.

I have a Samba share from my Linux file server that I want to record to using my Windows 10 system.
I understand that the NextPVR service is running as the local system account.
I have read that my choices are either to mount the network share so it is accessible by everyone or else change the service to run under my account.
1. What are the security risks of running the service under my account?
2. For the other option, I am not sure how to change the share so it is accessible by everyone. Is there a permissions change that I can make through Windows?
I tried right clicking on the listing in file manager Video (\\192.168.1.12) (Znd changing the permissions for Everyone to Full Control but that did not help.
I am typing \\192.168.1.12\Video as the directory to add but it always says Directory does not exist. I also tried z: and z:\ but they did not work either.
If the permission change has to be made on the Linux server then I would still want the share to be password protected. How would I do that?
3. Also, if I add a local directory in addition to the network directory then will NextPVR fall back to the local directory if the network directory becomes unavailable?

I installed the Android app on my S21 Ultra phone with Android 11.
1. The app can connect to the server without any setup changes even though I changed my pin and password on the server settings. Shouldn't it be asking me for the pin or password?
I would like that people cannot connect without the pin or password.
I set up the Kodi plugin on one of my PCs and it is working using the pin that I set up.
I did not check Allow Unauthenticated Access.
2. Playing video only works if I have Direct Play checked. Does Direct Play mean no transcoding is done? I could not find an explanation in the Wiki.
I have NextPVR converting all files from .ts to 1020p .MP4 so is that why Direct Play works?
I'm a long time user, was using npvr 4. something...
It was taking a REALLY long time to run, like 15 min to open... so I decided to update to version 5.
I read through the documentation, looked easy enough. I uninstalled npvr, deleted the folder... and ran the install (found in the install thread).
I opened the config page (also found on that page). I configured my tuner, and everything looked good, then nothing. yep.. just nothing.
I unintalled / reinstalled about 4 times. Still nothing. Nothing launches.. I can't get anything to work.
Is there some sort of trouble shooting guide? everything I see just doesn't work. I have gone over dozens of threads, nothing has anything near this happening.
Honest... Nothing now works, I can't launch the NPVRTray, nothing, absolutly nothing happens... I'm now feeling really dumb for removing version 4... as it was super slow (which just started)... but at least it worked.
I have a Windows PC recording TV shows to my Linux file server. I have it set to convert the files to 1080p MP4 files after recording is completed.
I also installed NextPVR on my Linux file server. just for viewing the videos. I would like to use the Linux version to play back the files. Is there a way to do that?
I want to continue to use the Windows machine for recording and file conversion because it is much more powerful than the Linux machine.
Twice just recently my C: became full because the video that is normally recording to F: spontaneously instead decided to go to the default c:\users\public\videos
This is without any notices.
Also I have comskip installed and normally do manual skips. It has also spontaneously changed to auto-skipping.
Where do I start with this?
I recently purchased 2 hauppauge hd pvr pro 60 devices. It works in hauppauge capture as well as in obs, however nextpvr does not see the card. what can we do to get this fixed. I can send you any diagnostic info you need. Thanks
