In my upgrade to a PCIe graphics card in my microATX box, I've now lost use of a PCI slot due to the fan on the graphics card. I had 2 Hauppauge PVR150MCE cards in, and now only have 1. I'd like to have dual tuner for all of my cable channels, but according to my research the only option is a Hauppauge PVR500MCE. There is the Hauppauge HVR-1600, but it can only get cable channels on 1 tuner, and HD OTA channels on the other, so if there are 2 shows to record and both are on cable, then I'm out of luck. My TV is a 32" CRT, and I won't buy a new TV until this one dies or I have absolutely no choice but to get an LCD TV for displaying HD channels.
Any suggestions for solving my problem? I know one solution is to live with 1 tuner, since dual tuner use doesn't happen much in my household, whether it be record 2 at the same time, or record 1 and watch live tv at the same time.
If I go with a PVR500MCE, I'll also have to buy an HD antenna. I cringe at the price of the PVR500MCE @ $140. I can get a PVR150MCE for $55, so $110 for 2. Why so expensive? I can get a HVR-1600 for $90. I'll also have 2 PVR150MCE cards to sell.
In the recordings listing is it possible to get the list in descending date/time list rather than alphabetic as it appears at the moment. I'm starting to get a number of recordings and the whats new doesn't appear to list all recordings.
for some reason i cant see transcoding when i go to record (on new pc) - is there something i have to have installed for this to work, or has something changed in 1.1.5? would like to set up automatic transcoding to save some space as well.
If I want to access a skin subdirectory is there a new method to call to figure out which skin path we want?
The PluginHelperFactory.GetSkinRootDirectory still returns c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr\skin\blue as a path.
Is there one that will return c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr\skin2\blue?
And second, I'm going to look at using one of you popup boxes - the ManualRecordings one since it seems to be pretty generic and looks like it would be pretty easy to use.
Do you have any problems with this, and have any helper methods for calling standard popup boxes with options? Or should I just code my own.
i restarted my PC today after a week or so of the last restart and when it came back up the guide was missing from the interface (gbpvr) - its completely empty. the recordings are still pending and are floating in empty space when scrolling through the guide - looking kinda funny
the guide search doesnt work anymore except for the scheduled recordings.
i restart the service everytime the PC comes out of standby (before a recording) so it's strange that this is happening after a PC restart.
any ideas? using 0.99.12
i did restart the service several times, manually updated the EPG, etc.
I see that in 1.1.15, there is separate settings for gbpvr.exe and pvrx2.exe for certain things. I was wondering if there was a way to have different skins for gbpvr.exe and pvrx2.exe?
First time GBPVR user. Just installed v1.1.5. Subscribed to CTtv. Got EPG downloaded and working. Problem: no video! just a black screen with program info at the bottom. I can change the channel, and the audio would change to the new channel, but still no picture. I can see the picture just fine in tuning assistant.
I am guessing this a playback codec issue. But my system already has Cyberlink Power DVD previously installed. And PowerDVD is working normally. (Muxchecker says there is no multiplexer installed).
I tried setting different rederer (there are 3 choices: VMR9 custom,VMR9 full screen and EVR), I also tried different video decoders (also 3 choices: system default, Nero, and MPEG decoder). None of it made any difference. Please help a newbie!!!
In order to use certain features correctly, for example restarting the recording service, you will need to have SlimmGBPVR running as Administrator. You can right-click the SlimmGBPVR icon in your Startup menu and change it to always Run as Administrator. However, this brings about another problem. If you have User Account Control switched on, you will see a confirmation box pop up each time you boot into Windows. To avoid this box each and every time you boot into Windows, follow these steps:
Firstly, you need to create a scheduled task. In your Start Menu, type 'task scheduler', as below. This brings up the Task Scheduler in the result list. Click it and accept the confirmation to run it:
Then you need to create a task:
Name the task (it can be anything you like but you might as well make it easily recognisable) then click Next:
Now you will need to define the task trigger. This states when the task should run. Since we want SlimmGBPVR to run when Windows first boots up, we will select the relevant radio button here then click Next:
Because there is a limit of four image attachments per post, the rest continues after this...
This is a bit off track from GB-PVR support, but I'm hoping someone here can help anyhow. I'm trying to set up my remote to move GB-PVR between my computer monitor and my HDTV (set up as dual monitors). I have written an AutoHotkey macro that moves the window to the TV when I press Control-t and to my monitor when I press control-m. These commands work great when entered from the keyboard and they move GB-PVR no matter what program has the current focus. However, I can not find a way to assign this function to my remote using irremote.ini. I have tried setting it up as a function under the PVRX2 section, but it does nothing (I assume because it is trying to interpret the control-T or M as a GB-PVR command). I have also tried setting up the remote control function under an AutoHotkey section I have defined and this does not work either. I assume this is because there is no autohotkey window to receive the focus (though it has a process called AutoHotkey.exe that shows up in task manager). Can anyone tell me how feed the control-T or M commands to the macro program using the remote...or perhaps someone can suggest a better forum for me to post my question.
