  Reuse channel scans
Posted by: plsm - 2007-12-10, 02:04 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (3)

It would be a real time saver if it was possible to reuse channel scans as it is a real bugger having to do a channel scan for every tuner in the system. Takes a cery long time.

Should certainly be the case wth identical tuners.

Web scheduling from work not work
Posted by: Pob - 2007-12-10, 12:13 PM - Forum: NextPVR Enhanced Web Admin (NEWA) - Replies (7)

First I must say that 1.1.5 is the dogs danglies!

I tried again to use the web scheduling from work. Local government = strong security.
Only port I can get through on is 53 (email?)
I get the login screen, but that's as far as I can get - I enter the name and password but when I hit enter nothing happens - except the password becomes blank again. I am def. using the correct password, and If I use local host on the gbpvr PC it works fine.

I think I'm on a hiding to nothing, but any ideas?

xmltv zap2it & msn scraper merge
Posted by: tvshowman - 2007-12-10, 11:52 AM - Forum: Developers - Replies (2)

Hi!

This is driving me insane.

I love the zap2it scraper for the 14 day guide but hate that it has no actor info or age so you cannot tell if a movie is worth recording.

Msn scraper has about a 3 day guide that has some additional info like who the actor is in the movie and that makes it a bit better to enjoy the listings.

I have been trying to figure out a way to purge the two so that I get the full 14 day guide and msn scraper updates the two day guide so you get actors and dates and a better understanding of what the movie is like.

has anyone thought about that or can visualize a way to make these two databases work together?

MSN_XMLTV_scraper_V.42 - Free Scraper: Here

Zap2xml - Free Scraper for Zap2it listings: Here

I think it is a great idea and one that can update auto so you get a 14 day guide to search and more detail in a 2 day guide...

What are your thoughts?

  Season Recording Question
Posted by: blackpaw - 2007-12-10, 10:38 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

Season recordings - these just match on the program title don't they? is it an exact match or substring?

Is there anyway to make it more sophisticated? - regular expressions, other key fields, cross channel searching?

I ask because I worry that wonky or ambiguous epg entries could muck it up and title matches seem a little restrictive.

Should I be posting this on the wish list? Smile

thanks, Lindsay

Manual Record - Am I missing something here
Posted by: Zathras - 2007-12-10, 09:33 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Last evening was the first time I have attempted to schedule a recording since I upgraded to 1.1.5 (nothing has been on that interest me :p)

In any event, I opened the "Manual Record" window on the server but cannot change any of the values... ie time to commence recording, time to end recording, date, etc.

I was able to use the "GBPVR Manage Recordings" from a client to schedule the recording and everything worked well.

I am just wondering if I should be able to schedule recording from the server Manual Recording window.

Thank you in advance Big Grin,

Kevin

How to I change the behavior of my Vista Home Premium system so that the start button of my vista media center remote starts GB-PVR instead of Vista Media Center?

  Chaseplay
Posted by: blackpaw - 2007-12-10, 04:52 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

Does GBPVR support Chaseplay? i.e playback of a show that's currently recording. Typically its used by starting a show recording, waiting a few minutes and then playing back the recording so you can skip the adverts.

However recordings don't show up until they've finished recording Sad

Tuners = 3 x DVB

Thanks - Lindsay

  Overnight processing
Posted by: mike.2 - 2007-12-10, 02:48 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (10)

Let me start by saying thank you for this product. I have tried both the Hauppage 1600 and Pinnacle PCTV HD cards and the OEM software just plain stinks. I have been using this program for all of two days and found it much easier to setup, much better quality and ten times the features. I especially like the web interface for accessing from other computers. Big Grin

Now for the problem I am having Sad

I know that it is experimental, but when I turn processing on, It converts one file for about 10-11 minutes or 38 MB and then deletes the file and starts over. It never makes it past the first file and just keeps repeating until the time is up.

Any suggestions on what I can do to fix this?

My log files are attached.

  DVB-S Manual Tuning
Posted by: hasso - 2007-12-10, 01:38 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (26)

Is there a way to manually tune a satellite channel. I've heard there are a number of Optus D1 channels that a normal scan will not pick up, so was wondering if they can be manually setup?

  Windows XP Home

Are their any issues with using Windows XP Home with GBPVR?

I'm imagine it works just fine. I just have an allergic reaction to XP Home because it gives us so much grief at work Smile but that's network issues
