This is a bit of a shock to me - I never thought we would see Direct X10 cards for the old PCI bus. I wounder if all those people using the VIA ITX motherboards can now get decent MPEG4 playback.
Ive started getting audio jitter with the new version .. have persisted thus far trying to research.. have fiddled with audio pb decoder settings .. affects one channel (10 Adelaide) only. Symptom= silence with incoherent high pitch squabble every 15-30 secs.. picture also affected with slowing and a little jiitter (sometimes). Ch 10 was not an issue before.. only have trouble since upgrade..
any ideas? logs attached..
Any takers on this one.??
7/12 - done a full uninstall and reinstall and fixed this issue FTTB
Something that MediaPortal server and the multirec branch of MythTV are capable of is performing multiple simultaneous recordings off the same digital tuner so long as the channels are all on the same transponder.
Also back to back recordings can be overlapped on the same tuner - probably the most common usage of that.
I am not a frequent poster so I am sure more input from me will be needed. I have the most current version of GB-PVR installed on a win XP machine. All seems to work fine with the exception of music playback. The music is MP3 files from riped CD's. The first song I play works fine and will play out and stop normally. If I pick more than one song GB-PVR will lock up and die. I get the "GB-PVR has encountered an error and needs to close...". I have tried to use the built in music player as well as Music Library 2 with the same results. I do not have a clue, and any help would be appreciated.
More questions from a newb just getting familiar with GBPVR.
I've downloaded v1.1.5, configured it and gave it a run on my host PC.
I only selected the plugins that I was planning on using at the moment, namely, having access to my picture library, MP3 library and Net Radio. (no capture card yet so recording TV will be a next step).
I also downloaded and inststalled the UBUStream plugin, and from reading the Wiki, I went to ShoutCast, rightclicked on a station and saved the target in the NetRadio directory. I don't really see how this is going to work however, since EVERY shoutcast station done in this way saves as the same "shoutcast-playlist.pls".
When I fired up GBPVR I don't see Net Radio in the menu. Also tried it with PVRX2 with the same result.
As I understand it PVRX2 is the new version, so I was expecting to see Net Radio in the menu, but didn't.
I currently have a postprocessing.bat file that runs Comskip on a show, then calls VideoRedo to remove the commercials. This works great.
However, I stream TV shows from my hard drive to a TViX network media player, and if I'm watching a show when Comskip or Video Redo start processing another file, I get lots of stuttering due to the excessive hard drive activity.
So, I'm wondering if there is a way to schedule the postprocessing.bat operations to run at a time later in the evening when we're not watching TV?
Failing that, is there another way to run comskip at a scheduled time and run VideoRedo when it finishes? A program that watches for files in a specified folder maybe?
I just put together a system that uses a dual core AMD CPU. I've noticed that I don't have lag any more when watching TV and browsing Internet and downloading files at the same time. I moved my tuner cards and hard drives from my old system into the new system.
Are there any tips on configuring the OS to take advantage of dual core CPU and have an affect on GB-PVR performance?
