Plugins not showing in list in config
Posted by: rounin - 2007-10-02, 04:26 AM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (4)

I am trying to get used to gbpvr before i set my own pvr machine. I have a fresh install of 1.016. It is basically working. However i downloaded and installed two plugins and they do not show up in the plugin list in the config utility. nor can i add them. these plugins are gamezone and theater. so i can't even put checks by them to put them in the pvr menu. any help would be appreciated. thanks

  CrystalFontz LCD display plugin
Posted by: heisenman - 2007-10-02, 03:57 AM - Forum: Wishlist - No Replies

I'm putting together what will eventually become a dedicated low-power big-performance (relatively speaking) entertainment center replacement. An integral part of this is going to be the LCD display on the front of the box, and the Crystalfontz brand appears to be the most versatile one on the market.

I'm willing to put my money where my mouth is as far as this addition to gb-pvr. If anyone is interested in either developing a module for the crystalfontz driver model, or a plugin to gb-pvr, I'd be willing to buy one and send it off for that purpose.

  Client, digital channel issues
Posted by: rbmcgee - 2007-10-02, 03:46 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (8)

Hi all,

Is there any particular reason why I can't view a digital channel (HDTV) LiveTV or can't view a recording of a digital channel (HDTV) on my client whereas, I have no problem viewing an analog channel (SDTV) or viewing a recording of an analog channel program.

What am I missing?

BTW, I have no problem viewing a digital channel (HDTV) LiveTV or a recorded HDTV program on the server. I also have no problem viewing a recorded HDTV program on the client outside of GB-PVR. 1600.

  podcast solution in 1.0.16
Posted by: ybreton - 2007-10-02, 03:44 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Hey everyone,
I was pretty disappointed that MyVideos ceased to work on the latest release of GBPVR. I have Juice running in the background downloading some of my favorite podcasts like Diggnation, TRS, AAN, etc. I used to use MyVideos to navigate to where they were downloaded and play them in VLC. So I've set up a series of batch files that are scheduled to run at 3:15AM that automatically convert the MOV, M4V and MP4 files into dvd-quality mpeg2 (hard drive space is not an issue on this machine).
If you have any comments or suggestions, I'm more than willing to hear what you have to say. The batch files are typed out below. Windows scheduler runs "startconvert.bat" at 3:15AM every morning.

startconvert.bat

FOR /R %%i in (*.mov) DO CALL convert.bat %%~dpni
FOR /R %%i in (*.mov) DO del %%~dpni

for /R %%j in (*.mp4) do call Convert4.bat %%~dpnj
for /R %%j in (*.mp4) do del %%~dpnj

FOR /R %%l in (*.m4v) do call convertv.bat %%~dpnl
FOR /R %%l in (*.m4v) do del %%~dpnl

for /R %%k in (*.mpeg) do ren "%%~nk.mpeg" "%%~nk.mpg"

convert.bat

if exist "%1.mpg" ren "%1.mpg" "%1.mpeg"
if not exist "%1.mpeg" G:\FFmpeg\ffmpeg -i "%1.mov" -target ntsc-dvd "%1.mpeg"

convert4.bat

if exist "%*.mpg" ren "%*.mpg" "%*.mpeg"
if not exist "%*.mpeg" G:\FFmpeg\ffmpeg -i "%*.mp4" -target ntsc-dvd "%*.mpeg"

convertv.bat

if exist "%1.mpg" ren "%1.mpg" "%1.mpeg"
if not exist "%1.mpeg" G:\FFmpeg\ffmpeg -i "%1.m4v" -target ntsc-dvd "%1.mpeg"

Screensaver on primary monitor during playback on secondary
Posted by: daphatty - 2007-10-02, 02:16 AM - Forum: Wishlist - No Replies

I'm not certain this is even possible but I would like it if GBPVR could engage the screensaver on my primary screen while watching shows on my secondary screen. I'm currently using my laptop as a media center so turning off the primary monitor really isn't an option.

  View Windows fonts on TV
Posted by: mkenyon2 - 2007-10-02, 01:34 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I know this is more a Windows question, than an issue with GBPVR, but I'm trying to do this for my HTPC.

I think somewhere there is a way to adjust Windows to use an easier to read font. I changed my resolution to 800x600, but it's still hard to read things.

  Zap2it miscues, anyone else notice?
Posted by: ApexHack - 2007-10-02, 01:12 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

I'm using the zap2xml scraper and have noticed a micue in programming just every once in a while. Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing the same?

I don't understand the caching business so well but wonder if this might have something to do with it. I would think it would be better to just load all new data everytime but don't want to burden them any more than necessary. I would hate to think that they would somehow take steps to stop the scrapers because of "abuse" as was given the reason for the zap2it.labs shutdown.

I've got a seasonal recording for 24 on our local Fox affiliate and last night it recorded one that was actually an infomercial. Now I'm wondering why it doesn't catch the repeats, cause there was one on at midnight or so. Could it actually be so smart as to remember all the old ones and honor my request to not record repeats? I'm not sure I even recorded all the old ones. It must be. I have always installed upgrades on top of the old and the database conversion went well. Ahh, sorry for the tangent.

Today I noticed that on their website it had the Simpsons episodes listed wrong. The one that was supposed to be on at 6 was on at 5:30 and vice versa. Hrm, I guess it's all on their end, I don't know.

It's no big deal I guess and I'll bet they wouldn't mess up any of the real popular stuff.

Cheers

  Cannot configure GBPVR after installing
Posted by: GAR - 2007-10-02, 01:02 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (11)

After installing, I get an error box that says I cannot configure GBPVR. I'm running a brand new installation of Windows XP Pro. I've uninstalled and tried installing again, but cannot get past the error screen. I appreciate any suggestions.

  HVR4000 - video stutter
Posted by: johnno51 - 2007-10-02, 12:50 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (7)

Hi i have been using GBPVR for some time with a pvr350 card, the experience has been totally flawless.
recently i have changed the card to the HVR4000 in order to be able to record DVB-S channels from Freeview.
in order to ensure success i started by building a clean machine with XPP sp2 on a p4 1.5Ghz Compaq D510 with 756Mb ram.
Then i registered the cyberlink mux files & installed the latest version of gbpvr.
end result is that the livetv stuuters, and whats worse, the recordings stutter, and stall after about 5 mins of recording. they do not report as failed, just "recording"

  Video output problem
Posted by: Rrowan - 2007-10-02, 12:11 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (6)

Hi Folks,

Hardware: MSI motherboard with Nvidia 6150 onboard video card, Sony 36" crt TV, S-video cable.

The only settings I get are 800 x 600, 1024 x 768 (I thought there would be more 720 x 576??). Not all of the tv is covered - Can see the edge of the picture and its not straight on the vertical sides

Screen quality is lousy (menu, text from GB-PVR). I know it is worst in windows mode. Just talking about while using GB-PVR and I know its either configuration or the hardware. While playing a recorded show, Live Tv, its fine.

I just installed the latest version of Nividia 163.71

Looking for help to get a better display to make reading the text easier and to use the whole screen.

I took a picture of the screen. Camera on a tri-pod and timer, so I didn't shake the camera.

Does this look right?

any info will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Rick
