I use i-xmltv and SchedulesDirect data, and while both aspect/16:9 and quality/HDTV are in the xml data, it is not displayed in the TV Guide program description.
I check the client box and when I next launch PVRX2 or GBPVR I get the following error.
Microsoft .NET Framework
Unhandled exceptionhas occurred in a component in you application. If you click continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue.
Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
Must be something to do with .NET but I don't know what.
I have been a longtime GB-PVR user, and I recently upgraded from 0.99.12 to 1.0.16. I upgraded my hardware to a completely new configuration, and I also switched from XP to Vista Ultimate (32-bit). My new HTPC config is:
So far, I really like the new UI of 1.0.16. It looks very nice. The problem I have is that LiveTV is not working. Since I made so many changes, itâs not clear to me what got broken. My 1.0.16 install is a fresh install as this machine never had 0.99.12 on it.
I don't know if this was a fluke thing or what, but we had set a show to record - and then wanted to watch it from the beginning while it was still recording.
However, when I switch to that show (via TV Guide, or LiveTV), it didn't seem to recognize that it was recording and started playing the show at the current time.
The one odd thing was that in the TVGuide it did not have the show highlighted as if it were set to record. Under status, it was recording. And once it was all done, we could watch it just fine.
We've been able to do this ok in the past, so I think it's just a fluke.. but I don't know what might cause it.
Okay, so I've been using GBPVR for a while now. And after the recent upgrade to 1.0.16, I was forced to spend a little more time getting intimate with GBPVR to get it to where it had been before the upgrade.
Now I'm curious about where I could go from here. I'm seeing that GBPVR has an amazing array of plugins and skins that I could potentially use, but it seems like a basic understanding of GBPVR manipulates those skins and plugins is really useful, and it's something I definitely don't have. So, rather then fumble my way through, I was wondering if there was starting tips/docs/faqs that I could refer to before I start breaking the $@#% out of my configuration.
FWIW, it seems like it might be worth mentioning that the current number one purpose of GBPVR for me is as an interface for my MVP.
Believe me, if I can get started this way it'll save us ALL headache in the long run.
I'm using GBPVR since 2 years. This is a very great PVR software.
Since the begining, I have a dedicated server to GBPVR, with 2 PVR150.
CPU is ilde at 90% of time (even with 2 recording and 2 playback at same time).
All the time, I have 500M on 1024M available.
Playback is done by Media MVP.
I have, at random time, some skip frame on the recording or some freeze during playback.
At recording: some frame are absent of mpg file. Ex: on 33 minutes of recording, 10 to 30 seconds are lost.
At playback: image freeze for 1 to 3 seconds, and continue exactly at the same moment.
I know it is a hard disk throuput problem. I recently buy a Drobo (kind of raid disk enclosure; see Drobo.com). The performance of this usb enclosure is around 22MBytes / second (read and write). Recording and playback of a SDTV show is around 600Kbytes / second.
It is possible to add some buffer in the recording process to be sure every bytes are write to the disk. And same for playback. Or maybe a way to use a hard disk for recording and transfert file to a other disk after. (buffer is probably better.)
I know this is not the first time I report this problem, but I sure little tweaking of in/out of data help in this case.
is there a way to change the font size on gbpvr in general? i want to have the TVGuide + live tv information bigger and i cant find a tutorial on it(if its possible) on the wiki page.
Hi
I am about to bite the bullet and buy some hardware and would like a guiding hand ! I am hoping to get a Hauppauge Nova-T 90002 (PCI) and a Hauppauge MediaMVP for output to conventional CRT TV. The PC will be at one end of our (long) living room and the MediaMVP near the TV, connected by 100 Mbit Ethernet router/switch. I am hoping to use the PC as a PVR and to stream DIvx/Xvid .avi's and Mpegs. If anyone has any general recommendations I would be happy to listen, I would also like to know do I need a dual tuner card for pause and rewind of TV ? Is there more hardware I need ? I have digital cable as well, can I use that as a source or should I stick to Freeview ? Do I use the MediaMVP remote only ?
TIA
Rory

Since the upgrade to 1.0.16 I get this error (attached screenshot). I had plugin problems during the upgrade so I cleared out the plugin folder, the only plugin currently in use it the weather plugin (I don't use xrecord).
Where should I look to remove references to RecTracker? Am I correct in my understanding that "don't record dups" is part of GBPVR and I no longer need CDK Sched or RecTracker to manage duplicates???
I'm having some problems getting the International Cinema Listings plugin to work correctly. When I select the plugin from the main menu, I get the following error message:
Error: Could not find a part of the path 'C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\InternationalCinemaListings\skin.xml'
Currently I have V 1.0.16 installed, but it turns out my system can't handle mpeg2 playback on PVRX2.exe, so I'm back to using the old GBPVR.exe. The cinema listings plugin works fine under PVRX2.exe FWIW. Also, I'm using the default blue skin.
I've uninstalled and done a fresh install a few different times, all without luck. The directory C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\InternationalCinemaListings isn't even created during install as far as I can tell. I've attached the install log if that's any help.
