Not sure if this is anything or not because of the way in which this occurred but it has never happened before.
I had to restart my computer and a recording was in process. I waited until a commercial break and restarted. After the restart, I went to Live TV and got "Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation" message both times I clicked on Live TV. I restarted the recording service and all was well. Here are my logs before restarting the service:
Do they make an infrared gamepad ?? I'd love to use it with mame through gbpvr of course, i'v looked into the RF gamepads but the range on them say 30ft but in reality its only like 3ft.....
I would assume that any ir gamepad would work cause I could train it with hip or girder.......
Hi,
I get a black bar on the left hand side when using GBPVR (doesn't appear when using WinTV2000 in full screen mode). It happens on "Live TV" and when watching recorded shows. I tried the F7 aspect ratio stuff that I saw on the forum, but it ends up looking weird and also cuts off part of the right and bottom if it fills the screen - this happens thru S-Video to my TV or thru VGA to a projector. Is there any way to shift the image around?
Also the GUI sometimes runs off the right or bottom of the screen (tv guide), but most of the guide/program description displays so that part isn't really that bad, I was just wondering if it was normal.
In 99.5. For some reason, the Simpsons and Malcolm in the Middle have started recording everyday. I used to record them on Sundays, but their broadcast schedule must have changed to daily. I went to change the Reoccurring entry, but they don't even show up.
Is there already a batch file to run a VRD script to delete the commercials then delete the comskip files? I don't want it done until I manually verify I didn't lose any parts of the show in the comskip cuts, so having these options in postprocessing.bat is out of the question. But, having a seperate batch file is definitely what I need.
After doing some reading up on the 350's trouble with gbpvr I expect a good amount of folks will skip this thread entirely...but anyway...
On a whim, this afternoon, I decided to get into the PVR game with a real ancient PC I have laying around. It's an HP running a Celeron 400 (128k L2 running at fullspeed at least), 256MB ram, a Matrox Millennium II PCI video card and a Western Digital Expert 7200rpm 27.3GB drive with Win2k Server installed. I told you it was ancient.
After doing some research, I determined the PVR-350 card from Hauppauge would be able to handle encoding and decoding chores in hardware, leaving my weak-ass machine at least free enough to run the OS. It would be a dedicated system for the job, with no monitor or keyboard/mouse. The Win2k Server would allow me to at least control it remotely, once I get network connectivity next to my TV.
I found GBPVR from a link off another site and was real excited that it supported an OSD on the TV-out, since the Hauppauge software didn't appear to.
Then I found these forums and all the trouble the hardware TV-out of the PVR-350 is and I'm quite bummed out. Unfortunately, I did already purchase the card (about $130 shipped). I have hope, though, because this is a commercial machine and probably not a Via chipset, so maybe this hardware ranks among the "compatible" ones. We'll see.
Since I'm determined, I will certainly try using GBPVR but I'm afraid of what might happen. I'm so determined to use this hardware (the box is small and quiet, and using old, otherwise-useless hardware for useful things is just cool for a nerd like myself) that I might even try Linux if this experiment doesn't pan out.
Is there anything anybody can tell me to help me pull this off?
I cant get the ehome IR blaster to install drivers on Windows XP x64, nor can I get the Nvida Dualtv to install driver either. Did I screw up when I got x64 instead of x32?
I tried to use some multiDec plugins to try out the this new feature.
Trying to actually get use of my boxer card.
No matter what plugin i put in the MDPLUGINS folder or even if i leave it empty, the playback gets terrible choppy and unwatchable. (both FTA and encrypted channels).
If i disable the multidec support in GBPVR config, everything seems fine.(FTA anyway =) )
I found that the Intervideo codec works best for me (about 40% CPU), but i tried all possible combination i can think of.
Using a 1.5GHz Laptop with 512MB RAM and ATI mobile radeon 9200.
Any suggestions what could be happening. What should I look for? Would you like some info from any logfile?
Tried the exact same plugins in mytheatre and there they are all working just fine.
Just wondering what would cause this type of pause when I try and skip forward on a recording on my client PC.
What would be the most likely cause, I am using 802.11g wireless, and I have 100% signal, and always connect at 54 mbps.
Or is it more likely to be the fact I have only 256 MB of ram in the client?
The PC pauses for say 2 seconds for a 30 second forward skip - and takes longer depending on how far forward I have hit.
IS there any other factor which may cause this behaviour? The cpu is a 1.53 GHZ Athlon
