I would like the option to not display the OSD when I skip forward (long skip?)
When I'm skipping from play to play watching a football game recording, I don't really need or want to see the OSD (it hides the game clock/score for one).
I can always pause or show the info bar if I need to see the OSD.
With the latest release the OSD is rather large (I've removed the controls to make it smaller).
Thanks,
Art
Apologies if this has been brought up before. Have searched around the forum as well as done a quick Google but can't find much for what I'm looking for. Close or redirect me if this is inappropriate.
Is there a specific API call for when a recording is complete or some kind of config file / flag that's changed when this occurs? I'm wanting to develop *something* that gives a notification around the status of recordings. The WebUI knows the status, so I imagine the information is stored somewhere.
Lastly, I see in most threads about the API that it's previously never been documented. Is this still the case in 2025? Even if there is a vague / incomplete list of calls it would save some time, but obviously no worries if not : )

I'm trying a new TV provider and can't get certain channels to work. The STB isn't known by blastcfg.exe so I made it learn the ten digits then tuned to channels 1-10 successfully and thought I was done as all 10 digits worked. I can't however tune to 100, 112, 122, 330, 344, 355 or anything with consecutive identical digits.
I noticed that if I send "10" from blastcfg.exe immediately followed by "0" from the provided remote I need to press "0" twice on the remote to get it to work and tune channel 100. I then tried learning a second "0" onto key '.' (dot) by intentionally missing the IR receiver on the first press thus recording the second "0". I can then tune channel 100 from blastcfg.exe by hitting either "10." or "1.0" but "100" or "1.." both result in "10".
It seems the IR data for the digits includes a sequence number and the STB ignores consecutive identical [digit/seq#] pairs.
Environment:
HDPVR2 with blastercfg.exe & blast.exe from WinTV 10
Windows 11
STB from tv provider: Amigo 7X
Any ideas? It seems I would need two blastcfg.exe setups and to tune to channel "11" I would need to send a "1" from the primary digits cfg and another "1" from a secondary digits config".
I use OTA channels, and have been using zap2xml to update the epg for many years. But it seems like the last time it worked was 12/30/24. Now all my stations show "no listings". I tried updating manually, and zap2xml doesn't update the xmltv.xml file any more.
If no one has a solution for this, can someone please give me a link to an alternate easy to use xml file builder that can be used on a more reliable site like tvguide.com (with detailed instructions)?
Thanks.
I was able to get some detail (finally) after poking around, but I don't know if this will help or not. When I manually ran the batch file, the cmd came back with this message:
D:\EPG>updateepg.bat > epgup.txt
malformed JSON string, neither array, object, number, string or atom, at character offset 0 (before "\x{0}\x{0}\x{0}\x{0}...") at script/zap2xml.pl line 1436.
and I outputted the full text in the attached epgup.txt
So is the problem in zap2xml, or is it in the site zap2it?
Is anyone else having this problem?
Now running the new version, 7.0.1.241229. Previously, I managed to transcode the .ts files to .mp4 (an hours program would take about 10-15 minutes after ending to convert and be downloaded). i now seem to have lost that function, and the files are just downloading as .ts.
Hello,
I purchased the above with the intention of watching and recording freeview programmes on my PC. I managed to download the installation software and drivers ok, but when it comes to scanning for channels, nothing happens. I have the August HD TV stick in one of my PC slots and the small aerial supplied with the stick is plugged in as well. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.
My EPG updates are a bit hit and miss at the moment - sometimes they work fine, sometimes (such as today) I get the response "EPG Update complete. [0 inserted, 0 updated, 0 skipped]". I've checked the logs and I can't see any errors or anything. Everything else is working just fine, no tuners are active at the time, recordings and live TV are fine. It seems to update eventually, but I can't work out why it's just decided not to bother? A restart seems to fix it but it's started happening quite regularly.
Failed to download channel list: A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond. [::ffff:143.244.220.150]:443 (con.me:443)
Not sure how to fix this? ....
I just received my m3u from my provider .... (No XMLTV Guide given).
