I'm sorry to bring this up again, but I've searched the forums, and can't find the solution to this problem.
I was fiddling with the translations in the Language.ENU.XML file, and now they are not being used. I have "English US" selected in the drop-down menu in the config app, but it still won't use it. In fact, config keeps changing it back to "English".
Hi folks...my first post here after lurking for a few days.
My question is this: I've spent a week or two making a system based on MythTV under Linux. It is to be an inexpensive digital OTA box, using an Air2PC digital capture card (which is cheap and works great for my location, BTW), a P4 3.2 Ghz processor, and a Nvidia 6200-based GPU (128 MB), and 512 MB RAM. Myth software itself works great, and I'd be happy EXCEPT that I can't quite get the HD output to be what I want it to be. It's a little bit jittery, especially with onscreen movement. I've messed around with using just software decoding vs. using XvMC (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/XvMC) under Linux, trying different nVidia drivers, and a few other tweaks, but nothing can get me that last 10% of video performance that I need to make it good enough.
At first I figured that buying the cheap 6200 video card with only 128 MB was my undoing, but before buying a more expensive one, I've decided to try it under Windows, to see if the nVidia windows driver are better than the Linux ones, and I stumbled upon GBPVR, which seems pretty cool, and will be installing it in the next day or two.
Anyway, a question for anybody would be, is there any inherent difference that anyone knows about that would allow nVidia cards to perform better under Windows then under Linux, or will I just find the same limitations I had under Linux because the video card isn't good enough? Perhaps this Purevideo thing I've read about that nVidia has for Windows will be enough to get my system where I want it?
Hi, I have been trying for the past few days to download GB-PVR but once the file download dialog box opens it does not progress at all (pic attatched)???
Any suggestions? Anyone else had/ having this problem?
Cheers, Shane.
I have MSI RS482M4-L motherboard with the Radeon Xpress 200 chipset on-board. I actually bought it because it has component output for my PAL SD-TV but it turns out that ATI don't do 576i - bugger oh well I'll just have to use the s-video output I think.
Well the ATI drivers don't find the TV, so I have to force the selection, thats OK. It also won't do clone mode, I have to swap the TV to be the primary display. That works OK too.... until I reboot.
The BIOS screen appears on the TV, the windows XP startup too, but once XP starts up proper, it switches the primary display to the 15 pin RGB output.
I've set up profiles and all sorts, tried omega drivers, and versions different of catalyst, powerstrip, ATI tray tools etc but can't get the thing to default to the TV output!
Hi there
I am encountering error messages when I try to install gbpvr.
First it goes 'internal error 2908'.
After clickin' ok and proceeding, there's another message on halfway: error 1935 - see attachment.
Clicking again, installation procedure would roll back and say 'premature error' : ))
Anyone can guess what's wrong?
I've very close to releasing the next version now, probably within next 24 hours, and would like to have a few more fresh testers to try the upgrade from the previous release for me. Not so concerned about functionality, since we've been testing this for the last couple of weeks, but more a double check that the upgrade goes smoothly from a previous version.
If you're keen to get your mits on it, and dont mind helping out, send me a PM. Also let me know which country you're in, and what capture devices you're using.
I think i may have found a bug with the conflict calculation code in GBPVR. I have 5 tuners (3 DVB-T and 2 Analogue). My girlfriend tried to schedule a one-off recording of "Robbie Williams Live: A Close Encounter" on Sky Three tonight 21:00-22:30. I have the following recordings set up for around that time :-
Robbie on the Road: We Are Not Alone (20:00-21:00, Sky Three)
CSI: Miami (21:00-22:00, Five)
Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares (21:00-22:00, Channel 4)
Midsomer Murders (22:00-00:05, ITV3)
I'm guessing that the tuners to record the shows are allocated when the recording is set-up (or the repeat program spotted in the guide).
I don't think this should be a conflict as Five and Channel 4 should get recorded by my 2 analogue tuners, and the Sky Three and ITV3 shows should get picked up by 2 of the DVB-T tuners, leaving one free to record the new show.
I've tried reducing the post-padding on the show before on the Sky Three channel to zero and setting the padding on the show i want to record to zero. But i still get a conflict screen. It says i need to canel either CSI: Miami or Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmare. Neither of which are on a freeview channel anyway! So cancelling them has not effect, i still get the conflict screen come up.
Edit: I actually checked my config and the Sky Three channel was set up on the wrong tuners, it was on the analogue ones and not the freeview ones, when it shoudl have been the other way around. It's all okay now. GAF is back up!
Just putting together a new computer. My old one had an All-in-wonder card. I never used the "tuner" as I jst run the output of my cable box into the s-video and sound outputs into my sound card.
I am now going to use a ATI x1950pro card that has VIVO (video in video out) on it.
Will this program recongize the video in and use it as the source instead of a true "tuner" card or device? I have been looking for a program to "monitor" the input of the card so I can watch TV.
