OK, so I see where Zap2it will on occasion (on earlier versions) add channels without your knowledge. How about the the opposite? I should be able to watch the Sci-Fi channel on GB -PVR- Zap2it has the channel listed, and is updated. Its also listed in my config file. However- its not on the channel list! Any way I can manually add it?
hi guys. i've read some posts and i know that you've had some problems with the servers. I'm just wondering if you have any eta on when the wiki will be accessable, or if there are any workarounds. I'm trying to download the screensaver plugin (with the utilities and elements) but i've not been able to get past the description pages for a couple of weeks now.
so is there a way to get to this page, or is this posted anywhere else?
Maybe if you can put some of the server issues on a sticky note ...
I've tried a few things, and I'm kind of at my wits end here. For some reason, I cannot properly encode any show that is longer than an hour and twenty eight minutes. And it truncates it at the 1:27:57 mark if it is longer. So, I record a 2 hour movie, it's fine up until three am when the encoding process starts, and then it turns into a one and a half hour movie. It's very aggrivating.
Anyone have any thoughts? This is on a decent computer with memory and hard drive space, I've tried XVID and DIVX, I'm running 0.98.8, it's a hauppauge 150, I tried the special time stamp drivers. I confirmed that it is recording things for multiple hours, but it's just during the encoding process that it's getting truncated. It's usually around 2.72 gig at that size, but it's always the same time stamp. I am going to turn off 'delete originals after encode' and see if I can't see any commonalities, but it's very strange.
Help,
New install. I am only seeing 24hrs of listings on the EPG. I can see listings from yesterday but the list ends about 1/2 hour from the present time.
This is NOT an GB-PVR problem. The myguide.exe application from Zap2it does the same thing and the red current time marker is 1/2 hour from the end of the listings.
Please let me know if there is some way to decipher what is happening. I browsed most the logs but did not make any sense of them.
No plug-ins
No skins
Valid sub at zap2it
Channel lineup looks good
I recently bought a media mvp. i have been using gbpvr for about a year with the computer hooked directly up to the tv with no problem with comskip with no problems. when i am watching shows on the mvp it will not skip commercials as the computer to the tv does. when i do use the skip keys that i have set to 30sec. and 1min. it will skip 30 minutes at a time. i can't seem to find anything to adjust this for the mvp. Please help.
Is the electrical characteristic of each of the 3 signals in a component video cable the same as a composite video cable? In other words, is a component video cable ok to use for composite video, just using only one of the 3 plugs at either end?
2nd question: Is there such a thing as an s-video to component video converter? In other words if I have an s-video source, and a component video display, can the fomer be converted to the latter?
Well, this problem isn't just with the GB-PVR...it's with other applications as well and I was wondering if anyone knew a fix for this. When I view a DVD through the TV out the DVD ratio is always messed up. I try to force the correct DVD ratio but it doesn't work. It has to do with the Nvidia Forceware driver, becaue the 8x.x don't have this problem but the more up to date 9x.x do. I know other people have had this problem and I was wondering if anyone know a fix for this?
My sysyem is:

I was looking on the twinhan site for a twin tuner digital card and stumbled across this. (unrelated)
I seem to recall that scambled channels were a limitation of PVR software - so I thought I would post in case anyone was interested......

I have problems when playing a recorded show. I can record other shows from this channel, but this show allways fails and the MVP will reboot. The show plays OK on the PC. I think I have tried with at least 10 different recording of this show. The show is "Dage, der ændrede verden" could it be that the Danish nationat character æ is a problem?
