  v0.98.13 survival guide
Posted by: sub - 2006-09-10, 07:27 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

I've made this sticky (closed) thread to post useful information about problems that may arrise, or to get useful tips out there. I'll add more information to this thread as we start to get feedback from this new release. If anyone has info they feel should be included here, please PM me.

Some important first comments though...

Installing v0.98.13
As always, its recommended that you backup your config.xml and gbpvr.mdb/gbpvr.db3 files if you're upgrading from a previous release. Do not copy these back on to the new release though - these are just in case you need to go back to the old version.

This release requires .NET 2.0 to be installed. You must install this before upgrading. You can get it from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

Volume plugin - directly accessing hauppage r/c
Posted by: bigthrilla - 2006-09-10, 07:16 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (3)

I'm trying to get the volume working on my haup. r/c. I'm directly accessing the remote, and like that method alot better! However, I can't seem to do anything pertaining to the volume. I tried downloading the Volume plugin, and haven't had any luck. I've also commented the volume section in irremote.ini. So far nothing has worked. Currently it is just acting the same as my channel +/- buttons in the menus, scrolling a page at a time.

Any ideas? Thanks guys!

  Is this wireless setup possible?
Posted by: Bobafart - 2006-09-10, 07:08 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (5)

Hello,

I have a Pioneer 50" 5040 PDP plasma in my living room.

I have an Athlon 2.2 running WinXP in my office upstairs with a wireless D-Link connection set up.

I don't want to pay a monthly subscription for a PVR service.

So, is there a way I can set up a cheap ($150) wireless PVR system to my TV without having to move my PC downstairs into the living room?

  DVD Player
Posted by: basketcase - 2006-09-10, 06:59 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

I was wondering if there is a DVD player plugin that allows you to skip chapters on a DVD? There doesn't appear to be support for that function with the default DVD program.

Thanks!

  Problem with IIS and WebAdmin
Posted by: forzaKGB - 2006-09-10, 06:56 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - No Replies

Hi

I just tried to set up a Webadmin via IIS (that I have installed on my server). Everythin looks fine and I get the TV-listings, can view recordings and search for programs. But I cannot start a recording (it just says it failed) and I cannot view the Statistics page. See the error from viewing the statics page below.

Anyone running the webadmin through IIS?
Have I missed something in setting up my applicaion (that is running as a separate website on a non-standard port)?

Everything is up and working fine with the built-in server but I cannot view the pages from work due to our proxy server not handling so mrequests (I do not not what and why other than everthing else is working fine, we are three persons running GBPVR and we all have trouble with the built-in webserver).

Regards
forzaKGB

  Resume improvements and client settings
Posted by: Sheik Yerbouti - 2006-09-10, 06:38 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (2)

Hi,

The resume function doesn't seem to work on programs still being recorded. It would be nice if it did. I'd also like it if the resume option would be the default option in stead of play, because sometimes I press the confim button to quick.

One last request: the new client functionality is great. To watch live TV on my laptop (wireless) I set the quality of live TV realy low to save bandwidth. This is not a problem, since I watch TV on my laptop in a realy small window. But on another client I watch full screen. Therefor I'd like it if the quality of live TV was a setting from the client in stead of the server. Could this be possible?

98.08 - Critical Error exiting LiveTV
Posted by: jsteele - 2006-09-10, 05:34 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (25)

Just upgraded to 98.08 and immediately started having an error exiting LiveTV back to the Main Menu "...not set to instance of an object". Clearing the error with OK leaves the system at the Main Menu. Attempting to reenter LiveTV results in an error that there are no tuners available.

The only recover is to exit GBPVR and restart it.

  No album art in ML2?
Posted by: MaBo - 2006-09-10, 05:34 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (5)

Hi,
Am I correct that currently ML2 does not support album art? It used to work before my upgrade to v0.97 last weekend. Now I changed the gbpvr core and all plugins to the ones that were available Saturday one week ago...

greetz,

  Playback plays grey scrambling...
Posted by: ramystyle - 2006-09-10, 05:27 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (11)

My Hauppage 350 was working well with GBpvr until I noticed this week that my recordings are not playing.. When I click on the mpg file, it plays a scrambled grey screen with little grey squares.. All my recording are like that (weather I play them on my computer or TV).. It's weird.. It did not do that before ?

Any idea why ?

Thank

Ramy
