Hello,

there is a small problem when using the above combination.

This is not a major problem, but i wanted to mention it though.

Hi been trying out NetRadio very cool indeed. The radio in australia seem to use windows playlists to streem net radio. not shoutcast playlists. Is there a way to use these or is there a convertor to shoutcast so I can use my radio stations with gb-pvr

1 BDA Tuner - Watching Live TV when recording kicks in
Posted by: Hayden - 2006-07-24, 09:57 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Hi,

in 97.13 with a single tuner system, I was watching Live TV when a scheduled recording for the same channel kicked in.

In previous versions I would have been kicked back to the main menu, but 97.13 just keeps going - which is fantastic !

Only problem is, it seems like the Live TV can't quite keep up or something, as it starts to skip and jump a bit.

Dropping back to the main menu and back into Live TV fixed the problem.

I was wondering if it is just a timing issue like in this post:

http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=18149

Cheers,
Hayden

  LiveTV delay
Posted by: Lindsay - 2006-07-24, 08:46 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

It seems to me that it now takes longer for LiveTV to come up. I would be interested in whether mine is about the same as others'. It takes about 7 sec of black screen from click to TV pic. My friend has a slower PC and it takes a lot longer than this, even.

Terratec Cinergy 2400i DT tuning problem
Posted by: narcotic - 2006-07-24, 08:36 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Hi!

I just bought a new Terratec Cinergy 2400i DT DVB-T card which has two tuners. I got the channels for the first tuner ok, but when I'm trying to scan the channels on the second one I get the following error message and debug window:

Error message Wrote:GB-PVR was unable to start the BDA device you have configured. Check the device is configured properly, and not already in use. (Reason: Failed to locate configured BDA capture device)

Digital Channel Mapping Wrote:See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

Any ideas for fixing this problem?

getting back to the main thread?
Posted by: reven - 2006-07-24, 08:36 AM - Forum: Developers - Replies (1)

im trying to get back to the main thread when a event occurs, but im not sure how to do this without having access to the main gbpvr class that started gbpvr.

so i need something like

Code:
public void someevent(){ if(notonmainthread){ something.Invoke(someeventdelegate(someevent)); } // on main thread, so continue doing what needs to be done

anyone know a nice easy way to do it like described above? i know a really messy way but i really dont want to do it that way.

TIA

CS-Scene.exe: Adds <SceneMarkers> to comskip created VideoReDo "VPrj" files.
Posted by: Jim_ - 2006-07-24, 06:19 AM - Forum: Community Announcements - No Replies

For VideoReDo & ComSkip users.
Tested with comskip v79.46, may work with other versions.
It uses the scene change frames from the ComSkip “log” file as VPrj <SceneMarkers>.
CS-Scene.exe goes in the GBPVR folder.
See the included ParallelProcessing.bat for details.
Source included.

Peak and AVG bitrate for a decent picture?
Posted by: dvasco - 2006-07-24, 05:06 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (3)

What is the best balance of peak and avg bitrate for a decent picture. I am fairly satisfied with a ReplayTV filesize of 1.6 GB for 60 min of semi-action. Bitrate viewer shows them to be a peak of 7500 and avg of 3600 with audio at 192, 48kHz. So far I haven't been able to get a handle on what GBPVR should be with a hauppauge PVR-350. If I have to go to a much higher bitrate (larger file size) should I buy a larger drive or better capture card? ATI will be coming out with a Theater 650 Pro they state has better quality than TIVO. Tivo has even better quality than ReplayTV, but ReplayTV is better than Tivo in a lot of other features.

  video quality - my experience
Posted by: zenfire - 2006-07-24, 03:52 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

Finally fixed it! For the longest time I was tweaking and trying different video codecs, installed radeon omega drivers, defragged - to no avail, and the constant "hiccups" in playback seemed to be getting worse. Sometimes it would hiccup so bad the playback would freeze and I'd have to hit "Play" again.

I was using the line out on the motherboard audio - realtek ac'97. Usually the first thing I do on a build is disable this, but due to minimal PCI slots - I went with it.

I hit the store yesterday, bought a SB audigy card and haven't had a problem since. Bought a larger case to be able to use the 3rd slot, oh well. I can sleep again. Tongue

Hope this helps...
