Ok I have a Dish Network receiver. Like a lot of 150 cards, my ir device is not functioning, it worked for a while, but now is pretty much dead. I dont really care about using the remote since I will be right there anyways lol. Is there any way to change the satellite channel without the use of a remote?
The search on EWA is very nice... however, I would like to see an option to sort the results by time, by title, by channel, by whatever...
But, before we even go there, why isn't the default sort done by date/time? I think that's the most trivial option, even if there was no other sorting control.
I am trying to set up a Twinham DVB-S CI using the latest BDA Driver . I have run Muxchecker but it can't detect any multiplex filters. I have Cyberlink Power DVD6 installed.
Where can i get a multiflex filter!!! Do i need it???
I say "something" in the title because I can't say if it's GBPVR causing the problem, or .NET Framework, or something else. But the problem is basically this: after I reboot my computer, if I try to start GBPVR, the config utility, even if I right-click the icon in the tray and choose "About", it will hard-lock my computer. By "hard-lock" I mean that they keyboard and mouse stop working, nothing changes on the screen at all, pressing Caps Lock or Num Lock doesn't toggle the lights on the keyboard, Ctrl+Alt+Del does nothing. The only way to fix it is to physically press the reset button on the computer. After rebooting I wait 15-30 minutes before I even think of starting GBPVR.
This has been going on for quite a while, through several versions, but I've put off trying to fix it until now. I just installed the latest version, rebooted, and tried to start GBPVR, and the computer hard-locked. The computer is at home right now and I'm at work, so I can't reset it until I get home. But my logs are attached on my post from this morning.
Any ideas where I should start looking in order to fix the problem?
I find that there are some really great skins you guys are making these days. I haven't had the time lately, to get into making my own custom one, which seems redundant anyhow, with the options available.
I'm looking for just that perfect mix, of colour, and functionality, that has the WAF and KAF, to become a "standard".
Sub's Blue has the functionality, but only with the officially released options.
Others have released updates to the "My" collection for some skins, and others have released updates to various other plugins. All great work, but there's not one complete skin, for all conceivable combinations.
The webcam plugin has some skins, but not others.
The X-Search (findfast) plugin has some.
You get the idea
Ideally, I'd like to see two or three complete skins, that covered all the options. I realize this is a huge amount of work, because every single plugin would have to be installed, and tested, and all the popup boxes, various colour schemes, etc., tested on all plugins.
I wish I had the time, as that seems to be my only resource that's in short supply.
Feedback welcome, especially with the new release today of 0.97.13
I'm having an issue with using the TV-Out on my system that i think is related to overscan. I'm currently using a GeForce 2 MX 400 running at 720x480. My sys is a P4 1.5 GHz, 384 MB Rambus, Hauppauge 150MCE, Hauppauge 350, GBPVR 0.97.09.
Everything's working fine on my Dell 17" monitor. However, when i use the TV-Out from the geforce, i lose part of the image on my TV, a 27" Panasonic. For instance, i can barely see the top of the taskbar, and i can only see about half of any icons on the desktop that are on the edges. Same in GBPVR. Looks like i'm losing about 10 or 20% overall of my screen. Any ideas on how to correct this?
I've tried changing resolutions but anything aside from 640x480, 720x480 and 800x600 makes my screen scroll. And only 720x480 fills the entire screen. Any ideas?
I've made this sticky (closed) thread to post useful information about problems that may arrise, or to get useful tips out there. I'll add more information to this thread as we start to get feedback from this new release. If anyone has info they feel should be included here, please PM me.
Some important first comments though...
Installing v0.97.13
As always, its recommended that you backup your config.xml and gbpvr.mdb/gbpvr.db3 files if you're upgrading from a previous release. Do not copy these back on to the new release though - these are just in case you need to go back to the old version.
This release is mostly bug fixes, but there is a few new additions as well. Many of these fixes had already been made available as patches, but I wanted to bundle them all together into a new release.
As always, if you're upgrading from a previous releases, I recommend you back the configuration file (config.xml) and the database file (gbpvr.mdb or gbpvr.db3) prior to performing the upgrade.
From the change.log:
Quote:
2006-7-5 v0.97.13
- Fixed a bug that could lead to failed recordings if live tv was left running.
- Fixed a bug that could cause an error bringing up the tv guide while watching live tv
- Fixed a couple of minor teletext subtitle bugs
- Added logic to live preview mode tv initiate a channel change as soon as the user has typed the correct number of digits on the remote, rather than waiting a short period of time. Makes channel changing seem that little bit quicker. Cant do the same for timeshift mode since numbers also prefix other actions such as 'skip'.
- Fixed a bug with the Record Until popup shown if you hit "record" while watching tv.
- Fixed a bug with the overscan settings that could cause corruption around the edges of the screen in fullscreen mode
- Fixed a couple of bugs in the PsiParser that could cause crashes during live tv or recordings
- Fixed a bug that could result in blank lines in SRT subtitle files recorded by GB-PVR. The blank lines would ultimately cause problems with subtitles when they were later played back.
- Fixed a bug with skipping on the MVP during playback of an in-progress recording
- Fixed a screen flicker that would occur each time you press a key when using the VMR9 Custom renderer and showing video in a window.
- Changed the way the VMR9 Custom renderer composites elements on the screen. This change was made as a work around for nvidia owners that used to get screen corruption when using hardware accelleration with most aspect ratios. Be sure to select the 'VMR9 Custom' renderer option if you need to use this. VRM7 and VMR9 renderers still have this problem and will require nvidia to fix.
- Fixed a bug that could stop the user from being able to edit the 'live tv' quality profile in the config app.
- Fixed a bug with the <SubtitleDelay> and <SubtitleDelayMVP> settings being ignored when playing back recordings.
- Fixed a bug that could lead to duplicate channels being created when you were using MS Access database.
- Slight change to scheduling logic to reduce the chances of getting conflicts on two-tuner systems when the system schedules season recordings.
- Fixed a bug with DVB channel scanning when using the DVR-MS mux
- Music Library and Video Library have been re-written. Functionality and appearance is pretty much the same as before, but the new screens are much more skinnable.
- Added page up/down to new Photo/Music/Video library screens.
- Added logic to cope with recent ATI 550 driver changes.
- Fixed a bug that could cause old show listings not to be removed from the database when 'complete EPG reload' is configured (and user has a capture source with 'no EPG').
- When audio is being played back, and you pause the music, you can now press the pause key again to resume playback (or 'play' key, as it has been up until now).
- When the user attempts to delete a recording from the Recordings screen, it'll only proceed if the system can succesfully delete the video file. This is to stop recordings being left on the file system, but not listed in GB-PVR. This could occur when the video is being processed with comskip or other utilities at the time the delete was attempted.
- Fixed a bug that could cause the 'constant channel number' to be sent through the IR Blaster for each channel change after the initial startup of live tv.
For the last few weeks I have been recording Family Guy from 10:00PM to 10:30PM and Futurama from 10:30PM to 11:00PM. (Both on the same channel.)
Everything worked fine up until monday of this week. Now, GBPVR reports the total time of every Futurama recording to be around 20 minutes. (While the entire 30 minutes is actually there.) Windows Media Player also inacurately reports it as 20 minutes. However, Videoredo properly shows that the mpeg file is 30 minutes long.
Additional Details: This only happens with Futurama, Family Guy records fine. I have the computer set to go into sleep mode after 1 minute of inactivity. I do have comskip set to run in parallel to the recordings.
I'm using GBPVR v0.97.7, and my logs are attached.
The problem I'm having is the channels in the TV Guide some how get thrown into some random order. And when that happens, GBPVR records the wrong channels. However, the channels are all in the right order when I edit the recording source in the config utility. If I go into the config utility, empty the EPG, then reload it, then the channels are in the right order and it will record the right channels. But after the daily Automatic EPG Update the channels get out of order again, and it records the wrong channel again. It happens with both the XMLTV plugin as the EPG source, and with Zap2It as the EPG source. It didn't happen with the last version I had installed, but I don't remember what version that was, maybe 94.13. I don't have anything in the plugins directory, except vssver.scc which seems to keep coming back on it's own.
Can anyone help me out?
Thanks for your time!
