I upgraded to .97.9 last night and, after some slight self-created issues (not reading the manual and failing initially to upgrade to .NET 2.0, for example), I got it working pretty much as I wanted. However, whenever I stop playing video, whether live TV, recording or video from the library and whether I use the IR or the OSD, GBPVR fails to go back to the menu, as I would have expected. Instead, it gives a blank black screen. I've attached what I hope are some relevant log files and would be really grateful if anyone had any ideas. I've got a PVR 250 which has worked fine with previous versions.
It seems that with this version the Hauppauge OSDs are reasserting themselves. Anyone else exeriencing this? Personally, I enjoy the volume osd, but the playback progress OSD is a little annoying.
After using a HTPC in the living room for the past 3 years, I decieded to add another client to my bedroom. For that i bought a new nvidia card and installed it in my living room HTPC, then took out the old nvidia gefroce3 deluxe card that served me well for the past 5 years. I then installed the gfroce card in my old PC (p4 1.5 Ghz, 384 MB RdRAM). After installing it (and all needed drivers) everything seemed to work perfectly yet suddenly out of the blue the TV Out screen started flickering and then i got a black and white output. I treid everything (configing the Nvidia drivers, restarting, changing tv out cables etc...) yet nothing works. After a few days the PC reboots in color again (also without me doing anything) and then after a hour or so starts flickering for a second and its black and white again , its strange since the card worked perfectly in my oliving room HTPC.... can anyone help?
Is there anyway to get GBPVR to look right using the 120 DPI option in the Windows display manager? I wonder if being able to decrease the font size in GBPVR would be all that is needed? I think most people who use there TV as a monitor would want to up the DPI to 120.
I'm new to the forums, and have been reccomended to try GBPVR. I'm building a new PC in the next month or so, and one of the big things I wanted was to get a TV Tuner and use it as a DVR.
I was all set to purchase Beyond TV tomorrow, but have been told to take a look at this. Just wondering if anyone could tell me some of the benefits of this over Beyond TV.
Also, if anyone could reccomend a great TV Tuner card that I could get that would work really well with it. I was looking at the Hauppauge PVR350 card, but am not sure.
Does anyone know if remotes come with any of the cards and if this program supports them.
Sorry for all the questions from a newbie, but thanks!
I'm still on V0.96.8 and I filled up my 250GB recordings drive so I installed another one.
I just changed the recordings/live buffer directories to the new drive letter and added the old drive directory to the Video Library Directories section.
I fired up GBPVR with my fingers crossed and to my delight everything seems to be working great. I was kind of surprised to see all the old recordings showing up in the same place - main recordings button. I was expecting to see this area empty and have to go to My Videos to get to my old recordings. Is this something that will expire with time or is this how it's supposed to work?
I originally thought I was going to have to install the archive utility, which was going to be a problem since GBPVR has moved on with net 2.0 and all, but so far so good.
Is it really this easy?
Thanks in advance for your thoughts on the matter. Cheers
Can someone please help me determine which tuner card should be assigned to which Capture Device #?. DeviceTypeCheck shows no output, and the log file contains errors (shown at the end of this post).
I have three tuners: one PVR-150 and two PVR-250s. The two 250s are in the bottom two PCI slots in my PC, and the 150 is in the PCI slot just above (third from the bottom). Are the Capture Device #s assigned in any particular order (like starting from the top PCI slot, or the bottom; or in the order shown in the Device Manager)?
Thanks!
