  Non supported card?
Posted by: Primaris - 2006-07-02, 05:30 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

Hello,

I guess I bought the wrong TV tuner card. When I bought it I just needed AV in and purchased a WinFast TV 2000 XP (RM edition). I recently learned of this site and the GB software.

Am I correct that I cannot use my current tuner card? If I can't what is the suggested card?

Thanks.

  Happening again
Posted by: Talcum - 2006-07-02, 05:13 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - No Replies

I had to perform a clean reinstall of GBPVR. I'm trying to set my skins back up and everytime I open ThemeManager I get an error of

Error: Could not find a part of the path 'c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr\skin\baseskin\AllTitleLogos\select_logo.png

I got this error the first time I tried seting up skins and eventually copied all the files in the \BaseSkin folder to the \Blue Folder. This time, though, the AllTitleLogos and AllTaskImages folder dont even display.
They ARE present if I drop to CMD prompt and do a DIR to view them but they are locked folders that cannot be edited.

Ideas??

Thanks

  deinterlacing
Posted by: asdf1 - 2006-07-02, 03:11 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (6)

One quick question, If i'm using a pvr-150 and i am outputing to a sdtv, which is interlaced picture, why do i need to deinterlace it. I mean right now i have it set to bob deinterlacing, i think but why not just forget the deinterlacing, since the tv is interlaced. right? Oh and i am not using a monitor at all, the tv is the primary output (only output). thanks in advanced, i know you guys have the answer.

Slow menu scroll and chanel change
Posted by: cramp - 2006-07-02, 01:18 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (8)

I have set up an MVP over a wireless network using a Linksys WRT54GL router and Linksys WET54G bridge, running GBPVR 0.97.9. All seams to run ok except for slow menu scrolling and channel changing. When scrolling the menus I seam to get a stutter scrolling starts but once I have scrolled 4 or 5 tabs I seam to get a hang.
It also takes 9 seconds to switch between channels and there is an audio and picture hang between changes. I have tried to change some of the settings in the configuration menu (minimal osd) but still on improvement.

I would appreciate any advice that could be offered.

  Problem using Web browser.
Posted by: cramp - 2006-07-02, 01:04 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (6)

Can anyone help I am having a problem using the Web browser plugin. I keep getting an error message after a few seconds of viewing a web page saying GBPVR has to shut down. The first time I used the plugin all seamed fine and I could scroll the pages the next time I tried to view a page I got the error.

I have tried altering my browser and firewall settings but no joy, when I installed the plugin I had fire fox set as my default browser and don’t no if this would cause a problem but I have switched the default back to ie with hasn’t helped.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

  Problem using XRecord
Posted by: cramp - 2006-07-02, 12:49 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (3)

I’m having a problem using XRecord, X search and j2guide, running GBPVR V0.97.9 using base skin. When I install XRecord easy install I can’t get GBPVR to run with any pluggins when starting configuration I get an error message and when the menu appears all the plugins are missing. This stops when I remove the j2guid dll from the plugin directory.
So configuration seams to work fine when j2guide is not installed all the plugins reappear and GBPVR starts as normal again with XRecord and XSearch in the menu. When I try to select the plugins I get an error massage saying object reference not set to an instance of an object.

Thank you for any help.

  Freesat without STB?
Posted by: elite - 2006-07-02, 10:37 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (4)

I live in a valley in the UK, and so get my terestrial signal form a relay transmitter that will not be upgraded to digital terestrial until 2009

I've therefore been looking at getting Freesat

Now, my question is do I have to shell out the £150 for the STB and all, or could I just purchase a dish and a DVB-S card and get the same channel line up or are some/all of the channels encrypted and therefore need the viewing card?

  recording problem and Tuning Problem
Posted by: crazy_gadgets - 2006-07-02, 08:29 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

Hi

I've just upgraded to 97.9 and run into a couple of problems

Firstly sometimes when I select a channel thourgh the tv guide or go to Live tv directly I get a screen with a no signal detected message. If i change channels to find one that works and then go back to the channel I was originally after then it all works fine. We don't normally have signal problems so i don't think its an aerial problem.

I have attached the log from an occurance of the problem.

Secondly sometimes when watching a recording the video will freeze and stop and the audio continues. I've only encountered this on Channel 4 recordings and not always. It seemms to occur at the end of the first ad break. I am using comskip but I didn't think that actually changed the video file. i've tried watching the video in WMP but have the same problem

I've attached logs for both problems

any thoughts would be greatly appreciated

thanks

Rich
