  Help with X10 remote
Posted by: RaulDuke - 2006-06-19, 05:46 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (1)

I am very impressed with this application, and have managed to set up almost everything I need with the able assistance of this forum. The only difficulty I am having now is that I have an X10 UR81A Remote Control I want to use with GB-PVR. I have done quite a bit of searching, and can not seem to get this working, does anyone have this working? And could you help me out?

Thanks

  Color Coding
Posted by: taz - 2006-06-19, 05:31 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (4)

I am not sure if this is a skin issue but I will start here. Not too long ago I set my tv guide to use color coding for genre/title/whatever. I made one item yellow. However, white text on a yellow background is almost impossible to read. My problem is now I cannot find where I made this change. I am running v. 97 and started with a clean install. The only plugin I currently have is Theater Listing. I am using the MCE2 theme but have used a few others. I have been all through GBPVR and the config app and for the life of me can't find where I changed it at.

Thanks in advance,
Taz

  BBC Three
Posted by: Stuart Brierley - 2006-06-19, 05:02 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Hi,

After reinstalling XP and all the software on my PC, I've found I can no longer 'detect' BBC THREE in the channel mapping. It worked before with the exact same hardware and aerial. I do have a newer version of GBPVR though.

Also, all the other BBC channels (CBBC, 1,2,3, New 24, Cbeebies etc) show up OK (even so, I guess there's a chance I'm missing a multiplex). There's loads of other channels showing up too. What I'd like to find out is, is it possible to manually add the channel in and then see if there's any reception?

Thanks,

Stuart.

  Cancelled recurring recording starts up.
Posted by: martint123 - 2006-06-19, 04:43 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

97.7 (I chickened out at the last minute doing the update as out leader was going on hols).

I had a program setup to record daily and it's worked fine for the last few weeks. SWMBO decided to not bother recording it anymore and I cancelled the entry in 'recordings, recurring' and checked - the entries in 'pending' had gone.
I've just popped into the shack and noticed the icon in the tray was green and 'status' shows it it recording this program (?!?). Looking at 'recording' there is nothing in 'pending' as 'recording' which is what I'd expect to see - so I have no way to cancel it. Odd. When it's finished in a few minutes I'll zip the logs up.

More oddness - the recording doesn't appear in the 'whats new' or 'ready'. The directory and file are present on disk and play with an external view fine.

Recording services log attached - prog name was 'countdown' and runs 15:30 to 16:15

p.s. I'm not 100% sure when it was cancelled - probably around lunchtime 12:00-ish

High CPU Usage / no VMR9 available
Posted by: ShiningDragon - 2006-06-19, 03:41 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (40)

After weeks and month of testing i could confirm, that NVIDIA Setup's aren't so easy as thought.

Short time ago i asked sub, why my CPU Usage suddenly went up with his new version. I really thought, it was GB-PVR related. WRONG and completely, absolutely false!

With some other people, i could discover that NVIDIA Hardware isn't harmonic with every ForceWare or nForce Driver or even PureVideo!

So here's a little Guide from me to you, to make sure you'll have one ore two problems lesser.

If you have a Graphicscard like the GeForce 6xxx Series, or lesser, as AGP Version (some of the 7xxx Series too, if they have AGP), then NEVER, EVER USE A FORCEWARE HIGHER THEN 81.98 WHQL !!!! And NEVER EVER use PureVideo HIGHER than 1.02.??.185 !!!!
Why? Higher Versions like ForceWare NEED the latest PureVideo and Vice versa. But these Versions DON'T RUN RIGHT with Graphiccards like the one i posted above. VMR9 isn't correctly available, when using DxVA.

If you have a PCI-E Card like the GeForce 7xxx Series, then you can use latest ForceWare Drivers... but THEN you have to use the latest PureVideo Version TOO!

With my A8N-VM CSM i went back down to 81.98 WHQL and PureVideo 1.02.??.185 and NOW i have a CPU Usage again of ~10 Percent, even using deinterlacing with PureVideo. With newer drivers VMR9 and Hardware Acceleration didn't work right.

Now you'll say, that you won't have MPEG-4 Hardware Acceleration too. This "Feature" is one of the biggest laughest! There are three(!) different MPEG-4 Versions outside, and not all are Hardware Supported by latest ForceWare/PureVideo. You would even have Problems @ acceleration of HD-WMV (with the older ones, like i posted not).

I hope this info is useful for some of the users here. I don't need latest ForceWare for additional 2 FP/s @ Oblivion Big Grin

Auto-Aspect - Works for LiveTV, not for Recordings
Posted by: garyeuph - 2006-06-19, 02:30 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (16)

Hi,

As the title says, I have the latest GBPVR and the auto aspect works great for liveTV, however when I play back a recording, I get what looks like a 4:3 output on my widescreen TV.

I checked this wasnt just old recordings by watching liveTV, then recording the same, playback of the recorded was wrong (though using F7 gets the correct aspect ratio back).

Any Ideas?

Gary

  Having Trouble Installing External Recorder
Posted by: Kingchimp - 2006-06-19, 11:50 AM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (4)

I'm pretty new to this whole GB-PVR thing, I'm currently trying to get ExternalRecorder working with a view to having a play with UBUStream.

This is the first plugin I have tried to get working, I have copied the files from the zip file to the appropriate folders, but when I open the GB-PVR config, the external recorder plugin doesn't appear in the Plugins tab (and just in case it's not supposed to, I still only get the same 3 recording source options I got from a clean install).

I installed the weather and calculator plugins (picked pretty much at random) to check if I was copying the files to the wrong places, but they work fine.

The instructions say to copy the contents of the gbpvr folder in the zip file to the installed gbpvr folder.

The list below is the contents of the gbpvr folder in the zip file I downloaded.

\gbpvr\Config.exe.config
\gbpvr\GBPVR.exe.config
\gbpvr\GBPVRRecordingService.exe.config
\gbpvr\GBPVRTray.exe.config
\gbpvr\RecorderTest.exe
\gbpvr\RecorderTest.exe.config
\gbpvr\RecorderTest.pdb
\gbpvr\Plugins\ExternalRecorder.dll
\gbpvr\Plugins\ExternalRecorder.pdb
\gbpvr\Plugins\RecorderHelper.dll
\gbpvr\Plugins\RecorderHelper.pdb

I have checked, and all of the files in the \gbpvr folder in the zip file are in c:\program files\gbpvr\, and all of the files in the \gbpvr\plugins folder in the zip file are in c:\program files\gbpvr\plugins

I am using version 1.0 of ExternalRecorder, and version 0.97.9 of GB-PVR.

I have tried this from a clean instll of GB-PVR on more than one pc, so whatever I'm doing wrong, I'm doing it consistantly.

Any help you might be able to offer will be gratefully received.

  Again, Sleep function
Posted by: fhmanas - 2006-06-19, 08:41 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (3)

I've requested this before, it was somewhat implemented in the Shutdown plugin that was never released (it didn't work with MVP), maybe it can be added in the System function. I wish there was a Sleep function, to put the system to hibernate, standby, or whatever. I know people will say why don't i just use hibernate, the answer is I do use hibernate, but hibernate won't work if there are still processes functioning like hd, cpu or network processes. I want the sleep function since I listen to net radio to help me fall asleep, but without the Sleep function, it just keeps on streaming and it's a waste of power.

So there, I wish there was a Sleep function. Thanks all

  Graph Edit-Idiots Guide
Posted by: Icon - 2006-06-19, 08:09 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (7)

I am still trying to see if my TV card will work with gbpvr.

I have downloaded Graph Edit and tried to work out how to use it with the help of the links. Although I can load a clip, add filters and produce a graph I have no idea how to get the information required for the ini file.

Any help would be appreciated.

  Clikc n Drag timeline
Posted by: JonnyCam - 2006-06-19, 07:49 AM - Forum: Wishlist - No Replies

I know this has been asked before - but I cant remember what the outcome was, and couldnt find it via search.

Is there anyh chance of adding a click n drag timeline to the GBPVR player? (click on some area of the movie timeline to go to that point)

Thanks
