  Using cable remote with HIP
Posted by: jaysoma - 2006-06-19, 07:00 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

Does anyone know how I can get HIP to accept IR commands from my cable remote? I want to use my cable STB remote to control GBPVR. The instrcutions show how to configure the MCE remote to control GBPVR. Don't know how I can extend that to a cable remote.

I've just upgraded to 9709 and my external blaster (I'm using an blast.bat file) stopped working. I.e. it works once, when I start up to view something from the TV-Listning, but it does not work with <number> + <enter> key in TV Mode.

  Plugin clean-shutdown
Posted by: madcat - 2006-06-19, 04:08 AM - Forum: Developers - Replies (13)

Hi,

I'm doing my first steps in developing a plugin. I'm trying to write a client/server plugin, to control GBPVR playback over a TCP connection.

For this, I need my plugin act as a server, listening on sockets, etc.

I need to know when to close the sockets - in other words, when is GB going down.

I could not find any method in IMenuTask (nor in other interfaces) that will be called when GB is going down.

Event? messege? something I can register on?

Thanks.

Noob needs help w/ Sat. Setup
Posted by: hansoffate - 2006-06-19, 02:10 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (4)

Right now, I have GBPVR setup with regular cable. I am LOVING it. I have had it set up for about a month and it is AMAZING. (many thanks to all of you for the help)

Anyways, I only get a lowly 28 channels with my 10$ a month cable company. I want to expand and get some HBO or Cinemax channels. I'm thinking about going with a satellite company because it is cheaper to get more channels and HBO or Cinemax.

With my current setup, my GF and I watch live TV via the split TV (the TV is crisper and less laggy, I haven’t fixed this issue), and then when we want to watch recorded programs, we switch to Video 1 and watch stuff off GBPVR. Also, we are able to watch live TV while another channel is being recorded which we both like about the setup.

Anyways, will i be able to replicate this setup with satellite? Also, how is it different form the cable setup? How does the IRBlaster come into play? I have a retail PVR 150

Thanks for the help
-Hans

This idiot needs help installing and applying skins
Posted by: dvasco - 2006-06-19, 01:55 AM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (3)

I have downloaded and installed GBPVR 0.97.9 and BaseSkin and Multiple Themepacks but when I choose a skin in config the xml files aren't found....while I was writing this I decided to try and copy the default files to the theme folders and now it all works perfectly. I am posting this just in case someone stumbles around like I did.

  Question setting up tuner
Posted by: wackyboi79 - 2006-06-18, 09:32 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Hi everyone,

I've been reading around the forums but I haven't been able to find an answer for my question, which is:

I have a PVR150MCE and I have Satellite (with DISHNetwork). Under Windows MCE, it works fine for Live TV and recording. I was setting up GBPVR and I want to try it out for my live TV and recording, but I can't seem to set it up correctly. I've read through the set up capture card section on the wiki but it doesn't seem to go into details about my problem.

When I set it up (using the wiki directions), all I get is a black screen when I go to Live TV. Guide works fine and syncs up with Zap2it just fine, but the live TV doesn't seem to work.

Anyone have any detailed instructions on how to get this working for satellite?

Thanks!
Alex

Heads up - o2grabber error and solution
Posted by: stefan - 2006-06-18, 09:07 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (5)

As of a couple of days ago (6-7?), o2grabber no longer works. Seems like the developer doesn't answer questions any longer... anyways, there is a solution that will work for a while, at least.... Long answer - look in the forums over at o2grabber's site. Short answer: put this line in your C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

  Random Crashes
Posted by: Zigz14 - 2006-06-18, 06:58 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

I've got GB-PVR set-up with an hauppauge WinTVC PVR 350. The program works great and records very well. However, whenever i try to watch LiveTV, the program randomly crashes. It also locks up frequently whenever i try to use the 45 button hauppauge remote. My rig is a P4 1.5 GHz, 384 MB RAMBUS (not by choice) Dell i got from my aunt. Oh, i also can't seem to get ISOs of DVDs to playback. Any ideas? Thanks
