I have been using GBPVR succesfully since august last year with MVP. I have two NICs on my machine; one NIC (192.123.1.1) is dedicated to MVP. TFTPD32 serves as DHCP server and GBPVR is BOOTP server (supplying the dongle to MVP).
Since upgrading to 0.97.7 (from 0.96.x) I have a problem getting MVP to boot. I am using dongle.bin and here is what happens (reproduceable):
1) I start by resetting MVP (removing and re-inserting the powercord).
2) I turn the computer on.
3) MVP gets to the second/third bar on the boot screen.
After some time (say 15 minuttes):
4) I kill GBPVR.exe using task manager.
5) I reset MVP.
Then MVP can boot.
Using Ethereal I lean that MVP (192.123.1.2) tries to communicate on the wrong NIC/network:
"Broadcast ARP Who has 192.168.1.100? Tell 192.123.1.2"
MVP should communicate with 192.123.1.1 which is in the other end its network cable.
Attached is a snippet from GBPVR.exe.log (showing GBPVR is aware of both my NICs).
Hi there
I have loaded the gbpvr software. I can't get any live TV on GB-PVR. It keeps telling me that no channels have been set up. But I have gone throught that many times. I have the Nova-T(909) card. In the UK, southern england. Digital TV picture using the Huappauge Software is excellent so its not the aerial. I assume I use BLEB as the EPG source. Its scans OK. I have no channnel changer selected. the rest of the settings are standard.
Any ideas. PC is P4 253ghz , 768 RAM
Many thanks
Well I did a fresh install, without any codecs installed yet, and it still is giving me the same issues. I even tried backdating the drivers to the originals that came on the CD to see if maybe the new drivers were conflicting and same issue. Sub, am I able to get a copy of the prior release? That one seemed to work just fine for me
Since the My pictures plug in no longer works and in fact does nasty things to the system besides, i've been playing with the Photo Library some. I have a few questions if you don't mind.
Is there a way to get it to stay in list mode as opposed to having to select list mode each time?
Are you planning to make the lists circular at some point? I hope!
I've noticed once I have used the remote to change to list mode, then go to the lists to select what i want to view, the program won't let me get back to the slideshow button to start to start the slideshow, or even to exit back to the main menu. Is this something I've done wrong or is there a little glitch yet?
"Moved over here, i think it got lost in the shuffle with real problems "
As the title suggests after upgrading yesterday with a fair amount of success today when trying to fix the exe channel changer (lost capture source setting during upgrade) config.exe locks up when ok ing changes and has to be forced to close thereby not saving new settings. Any ideas?
In Israel, we have one Satellite service, which provides an excellent TVGuide via web, and there is an equally good grabber.
The only hitch is the fact that many times, the grabber provides information in a form that puts the episode number into the <title> section. This renders Season recording useless in GBPVR.
Alas, the grabber is aimed at SAGETV, which allows one to define the season recording with wildcards:
"Gray's Anatomy: Episode *" for example...
I'd like that too. I think this can also (possibly) help with a couple other situations:
If my grabber reads 5 days ahead, and I just watched a weekly show and decided I want to record it, then I must remember 2-3 days later to go in and ask to record it. Wildcard, and recording by string match could solve this. I think if I try to go to TV guide and ask to record it weekly it will fail because it already passed and no more shows are available in the future (yet) in the EPG data.
If I see a promo for a show, I could ask GBPVR to record it by name with wildcard, so when it starts airing (maybe weeks later).
Comskip seems to kinda work but it doesn't always skip 100% off the time. I mean sometimes commercials run for 20-30secs before skipping. And sometimes it skips too far and program recording is lost.
My TV recordings are recorded as .dvr-ms format. Is it my hauppauge HVR1300 hard decoder that is setting this, or is it a configurable option in GBPVR?
I am going to add a new HDD to my system soon (need more space for recordings!) Once I get it installed, is there a way to move all current saved recordings to the new drive and use it as the new default location for future recordings?
