In the UK at least you can listen to Radio Stations through a STB via Cable, Freeview or Satellite. Currently it appears the only way to record these through GBPVR is as an mpeg and then extract the audio track with third party apps if you want to listen to it on other devices. It would be great if we could flag these stations so that GBPVR records these as audio files rather than video files. I don't know if this is a difficult thing to accomplish.
I've asked if this is currently possible in the support group so I shall keep an eye out if there are any work arounds for now.
Does anyone know of a source of freely availiable source code / dll libarys. Pref ones for .net languages. I found the code project site which has lots of useful stuff, I want to find something similar.
My ulimate goal is to find an iCal (iCalendar) parser for use with the Calendar plugin . Something like this would be great.
I have a Hauppauge PVR-150, Windows XP, and a RADEON 7000 video card.
I keep getting a blue screen crash while running GB-PVR. I thought it only happened when it's recording, but that may not be true. I also get FFMPEG crashes from time to time. I thought this had to do with transcoding, but again, I could be wrong.
Any ideas? I couldn't really find any blue screen or general crashing problems in the forum.
First post in the forum and I should start with a compliment to Sub on a very, very useful system. GBPVR is a class piece of work - so this is my opportunity to say - thanks Sub for GBPVR - it installed and worked first time (albeit with some help from a good colleague).
One quick question. One of the most irritating changes that our NZ broadcasters have loaded onto us, is the continual presence of station bugs (i.e. the station logo that now appears on every TV channel). In most cases, these logo's are faded well down (i.e. translucent) so that they do not get in the way. But for some channels they are a real intrusion.
Has anyone figured out a way of toning them down so that they are less intrusive. The colored ones (i.e. National Geographic and Discovery) are some of the most intrusive but all of them get in the way. It occured to me that perhaps GBPVR might be a way of dealing with them. One advantage is that they never move their position. Perhaps the color can be removed from them - anything would help?
Is that something that could perhaps go onto a wish list?
On my cable service I can listen to the radio and I have setup some of these up in the epg on GBPVR. Namely the limited number of BBC Radio Stations currently avaliable on Bleeb. Basicly is there anyway of doing an audio only recording for radio stations through GB-PVR?
The auto wake from suspend (hybernate) to record is simply wonderful. However could you add in the functionality that once you have recorded the scheduled program or updated the EPG actually go back to sleep?
It would be pretty easy to validate if there had been no keyboard input incase someone did something after the PC woke up.
After a period without GB-PVR (as my harddrive broke), I have just got around to setting it up again. I have got everything working beautifully, apart from the rather crucial issue of getting recordings with content in them. When I record I just get files with a totally black screen.
My setup is as follows:
PVR-350 capture card
Sky (UK) STB feeding into the PVR 350 via S-Video
Capture source set up as Composite 2, which I believe I used last time (have also tried it on composite and S-Video with no luck)
Playback is either through the PVR-350 or the TV-Out on the graphics card, but both just show a black screen apart from the OSD. I have also tried to play the recorded files in Windows Media Player, but with same result. However, when I play a normal MPEG-2 file from another source, it plays both in Windows Media Player and in GB-PVR.
I tried using the antenna as source to run the tuning assistant, and that worked fine.
I suspect what I am doing wrong is related to codec, but since I last set it up there are a number of new choices in the program, and I can not remember what I did to get it working last time. Any help would be appreciated, as I am tearing my hair out :-)
I use XMLTV GUI to get my TV guide (UK Radio Times), however I notice that some of the programmes appear to get overwritten (i.e. the same program is shown between 2110 to 2230 AND 2120 to 2240 on the same channel).
This appears in many cases, and just gets the text to overwrite itself, however when it is part of a recurring recording, the recordingnow appears twice in the schedule of recordings.
I have tried a complete reload of the EPG, to no effect.
Does anyone have any ideas?
BTW my setup has a Haup 150 and Nova-T capture card both using the same XMLTV data file
Here is my scenario. I have just gotten both tunner to record two different show at the sametime.
I have two PVR-150 installed on my Athlon64 with 1 Gig of RAM, and firewire external drive of 200 Gig, and SATA150 internal drive which is system drive.
I have set GBPVR to use my firewire drive for everything including live TV and recording. I am not much into timeshifting, so I have turned off that feature.
I am running the latest version of GBPVR.
What is happening that while one of the tuner is recording the program, I am trying to watch other program through 2nd tuner using GBPVR, and it seems that picture is stuck on one channel (For Example Cable 63)with or without audio at times. YOu can change the change, but it displays other channel listing on the bottom, but picture remains the same of cable 63.
I tried to change the channle using TVGuide, and result is the same. It brings the original channel 63 back on live TV.
Channel 63 is just an example. It can be anything.
I've been using the remote with GBPVR for a few weeks now without a problem, but it has now decided to stop working. The only thing different I've done is hook up my TV to my S-Video out on my AGP video card and changed some settings for the TV-out. I've tried restarting the IR program ("Restart IR") and tried the Fix 45-button remote option in GBPVR but still nothing works. I even tried using the remote with the software that came with the PVR-150 card and it doesn't even work with that. I've also checked to make sure the batteries in the remote are good. Does anyone have any other suggestions for me to try?
