I've been using the remote with GBPVR for a few weeks now without a problem, but it has now decided to stop working. The only thing different I've done is hook up my TV to my S-Video out on my AGP video card and changed some settings for the TV-out. I've tried restarting the IR program ("Restart IR") and tried the Fix 45-button remote option in GBPVR but still nothing works. I even tried using the remote with the software that came with the PVR-150 card and it doesn't even work with that. I've also checked to make sure the batteries in the remote are good. Big Grin Does anyone have any other suggestions for me to try?

Yes, I tried switching with new batteries and it still doesn't work. That was the first thing I thought it would be. Unfortunately it's not...

It is actually a serious suggestion. If you were changing the cabling at the back of your pc, the plug for the remote may have got pulled out a little and/or not be sitting firmly in place.

Did you notice that the 150's IR plug has a diagonal "dent" on one side of its round body? The idea is that it is sometimes touching the PC's case to the sides of the 150's bracket. Try turning it as you push it in and see if you can get it to slide another half milimeter inwards...

Yup, I saw on another thread here about the notch on the jack but the jack goes all the way in without having to worry about the notch.

I think something has come loose or broken somewhere. I can't tell if it's where the jack plugs into the card or if it's the wire itself. I was fiddling around with the wire and I can get it to work sometimes but then it will just stop working again.

I just bought the card a few weeks ago, so I think I'll just take it back to the store and exchange it for another one.

Thanks for your suggestions.

I would recommend that you contact Hauppauge support. They will gladly send you a spare one... I asked them for help with extending my cable, and they said:
"We don't sell this kind of extension cord, but we know others have extended it, so you should try, and if you ruin it - just email me and I will send you a new one."

Just a suggestion.

Thanks, but since mine is under warranty still, I think I'd rather just exchange it at the store. It may also be the jack, so I'd rather just swap for a new one.

OK, now I'm at a total loss. I installed all the drivers and applications that came with my PVR-150 card and exchanged it at the store for a new one. I re-installed the latest Hauppauge base driver, the driver update (http://www.hauppauge.com/pages/support/s...0.html#drv) and the IR receiver application (http://www.hauppauge.com/pages/support/s...tecontrol). In the options of GBPVR I fixed the 45-button remote and re-booted the computer.

Even this new remote does not work! I checked the batteries, made sure the IR jack is firmly plugged in in the back of the card.... is there something else I need to install? Am I missing something here? I'm starting to lose my mind! Big Grin

I'm not quite sure I'm following you here... did you exchange the remote? Receiver? Card? All of the above? If you exchanged all of them, I'm not sure what else to do. Does the card itself work? Can you use it with a keyboard and record shows?
