Hi. Im in the UK and would like to use the DVB radio broadcast. I have just updated to the current version (I was using 94.13 or something) so I see the Radio will actually play now. Thank you.
Is there a way to get it to display a picture that says it is the Radio and also to get the menu/guide to display because at the moment it just sort of freezes with what was on the screen at the time. You can press escape to get out but it would be nice to be able to get the menu and guide up.
Yesterday I was transcoding a movie with Mencoder. Half way through I crashed my computer. Remarkably when I restarted the encode it actually resumed from where it left off. This is way cool!!! I think it can only do this if there is a log file.
Also yesterday, I tried to install Quicktime. Previously I only had to download the Quicktime player - kind of bloated but i'll give them that. Now I find you have to download a 32 MB Itunes install. Is this true? If it is, man, I really dislike Apple to the point of almost calling it MS --shudder--.
I'm trying to set up my Hauppage 1300 TV card up on GBPVR. I'am installing it as a Nova-T (90002) as stated in the wiki and as a BDA source, whilst using DVB epg, and I'm getting some weird problems with it when it scans for channels.
Some channels are being found twice (once with sound and once without, but with pictures) and being labelled FooBar & FooBar (1), and some other channels are also being found twice but this time once with sound and once without, but this time without pictures in either case.
Other than this all the other channels seem to be being found AOK, any clues.
If you need more info from me just ask, and thanks for any help in advance.
I have installed GB-PVR and true to everything I have read everything was nice and easy and just worked ... however there was one exception. I have been unable to actually tune in any tv stations, I have a listing of all the frequencies, but nowhere to enter them.
The tuning assistant has picked up a few, but not in the right place, and not all of them.
I am in NZ, just using free to air tv signals (TV1=45Mhz, TV2=62Mhz, TV3=217Mhz, C4=196Mhz, Prime=783Mhz, Trackside=751Mhz, Maori=655Mhz)
Can anyone point me in the right direction so that I can actually get the info to GB-PVR.
Hi out there, please have a look on this error message I got when trying to open the TV guide this morning. What does it mean? Is it possible to find the reason or do I need to copy the log files?
I am switching from MythTV and trying GBPVR out. MythTV was really grainy and stuttery when trying to watch tv and recording shows. On GBPVR, the shows seem a lot better quailty (not grainy), and the video doesn't stutter. However, the shows are awy too dark. Does anyone have any idea on how to change my tuner contrast?
When running the tuner assistant, the contrast is fine. I am able to see all the channels without them being overly dark.
I am really excited to start using GBPVR.
Thanks
-Hans
:EDIT: I downloaded HauppaugeTweakTool and i changed the brightness. The picture is not too dark. Now, my Girlfriend (and i agree with her) that the picture is "fuzzy and the colors are not right". What would i do to fix this?
Sometimes when I change channel, the audio is crackly. If I change channel and then change back, the crackling goes away (usually). Any idea what is causing this? I have a Hauppage 150 MCE hooked up to an antenna.
Not sure if this is related, but also, when I change channel using the channel number (1,2,3,...) an error appears on screen briefly, something like "No signal found blahblah...", then it goes away. If I use channel +/- this error never appears.
I was wondering if I have my PVR box hibernated and configured to automatically wake up for an EPG update as well as set up with gbpvrwake.exe and wake.cmd does wake.cmd run synchrnously or asynchronously in relation to the EPG update?
The reason that this is important to me is that the PVR gets internet access via a Linksys wireless USB adapter which does not always recover successfully from hibernate (possibly because it is set up to use WPA-AES) and requires a Linksys driver service to be restarted via "net stop/start" to regain internet access required for EPG update. So my plan is to have wake.cmd first restart the Linksys service after coming out of hibernate and regain internet access (takes around 30 sec, create artificial delay with a sleep command inside wake.cmd) and hopefully have the EPG update run subsequently. Does this seem like it might work?
Comskip is a godsend and it works great on both gbpvr on my computer and on my mediamvp bbbbuuuuttt...... for some reason it acts differently between the two. On my computer it works how I believe it should.... the program goes about 2 seconds into the commercial and then skips but on the MediaMVP it does it before you even see the commercials starting. Even though that is okay (sometimes it cuts off like fractions of a second of someone talking) because it is still technically skipping the commercials....just sooner.
At the beginning I was like woah what did it just cut out but soon found out that it was just skipping commercials but like i said earlier just sooner than what I'm used to on my computer. I did a search but my behaviour seems one in a kind but if you guys have any insight to what could be wrong that would be great. As always Thanks Guys!
