  Access Network Shares From MVP
Posted by: 4zm4r3d02 - 2006-04-19, 10:08 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (5)

I have two pc's on my network. The one running GBPVR has XP Pro, the other one has XP Home. I used GBPVR config to add shared directories on the XP Home machine to the Video Library and Music Library directories screen.

I can see and play the files on the XP Home machine from the pc running GBPVR. On the mvp, however, I can see the shared directory on the XP Home machine, but I can't see any files or subfolders in it when I enter it, just [..].

I have tried searching the forums for "mvp network drive", but none of the info I found seems to help.

Comskip .79 build 34: Some detection improvements
Posted by: erik - 2006-04-19, 08:47 PM - Forum: Community Announcements - Replies (3)

From the changelog

Changes in 0.79.34
- Added the proposed cutlistformat for TVersity, enable with output_edlx=1. Warning: This output only is available correctly when scanning the video file, not when editing the cutpoints or processing the .csv file.
- Added ini parameter sage_framenumber_bug=1 to halve the .txt file frame numbers when 720p/60fps content is detected.
- Changed logic when enabling both SILENCE and other detection methods to become more robust against input variations over broadcasting styles.
- Warning: Some changes did have the risk of slightly less quality in detection. Notify me when you detect this.

  Wiki write access for Stattik
Posted by: Noelix - 2006-04-19, 08:35 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Hello. Stattik has been diligently perfecting an automated transcoding method over at http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=10606 and from what I can tell has asked to add his solution to the Wiki with no response as of yet. As a user of his method I can advocate that it works very well and I think it would be of great benefit to GB-PVR users to have it in the wiki so people don't have to dig through 20 pages of a forum thread to find installation information. I'd be willing to help write and maintain it as well if it's any consolation. Thanks for your consideration.

  Having to edit direct.ini everytime!
Posted by: chimeland - 2006-04-19, 08:13 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Hi folks,

I've searched for this and been monitoring the forum for a while, my apologies if this has already been covered...

I have an ATI 550 Pro and I'm in the UK.

I upgraded to GB-PVR v0.96.12 from v0.93.10 (a clean install) and initially had a corrupted picture as shown in the attached screen grab.

Editing direct.ini to 'ForceStandard=256' gets rid of the corruption but the aspect is off. Editing again to 'ForceStandard=18' fixes the offset. The problem is I have to go through this edit everytime I run GB-PVR! If I leave it at 'ForceStandard=18' I get the picture corruption.

Any ideas please?

Cheers ... Paul

  A MVP killer ?
Posted by: shuot - 2006-04-19, 03:59 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (47)

ADS has released the "ADS Media Link Home Media Server" for about
the same price as the Hauppauge MVP. It also includes a wireless
interface.

The ADS box seems a lot better than the MVP, as it supports
component video and DVI.

It also supports an extensive list of codecs:
MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, DivX, Xvid, MOV, Compressed AVI,
MPEG Audio layer 1 & 2, MP3, OGG, AC3, WMA,
JPEG, BMP, GIF, animated GIF, PNG.

See:

http://www.adstech.com/products/MXL-581/...id=MXL-581

http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/S...87&CatId=0

... will GBPVR eventually support this product ?

Thanks!

Bye!

  Video Archiver/DVD2MPEG - stuck in MPlex.exe
Posted by: reedmikel - 2006-04-19, 02:13 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (5)

I just d'loaded and installed the latest VA plugin. Previously I had used just the older DVD2MPEG plugin to rip DVDs to MPGs. So now I have the latest everything(GB, VA, DVDDecrypter, BeSweet and MPLex).

My problem is that in the 3rd and final phase of ripping a DVD, MPLex seems to get stuck in some sort of loop, pounding away at the hard drive forever. This brings my PC almost to its knees. I let MPlex run overnight and it was still thrashing away at my HDD. I even tried to kill the rip using the GUI of GBPVR on my PC and clicking on DVD2MPEG's cancel button (or whatever its labeled to attempt to kill the rip). But that does not seem to halt MPlex either. I then have to try to Restart my PC - which takes a long time as everything is runing sooo slow. GBPVR even reports "DLL Initialization Failed - windows is shutting down" many times before system ever restarts. It can take 30 mins to restart Sad I restart in Safe mode and delete all the rip-releated files on the plugins temp folder. Then restart normally...

Below is the Archiver-PC.log. Maybe Jeff can determine what it going wrong here?

FYI - the DVD I am attempting to rip is called PAPER.

Thanks!!

  Guide not matching xml data
Posted by: danIrl - 2006-04-19, 12:35 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

Hi,

The Guide as displayewd within GBPVR is not matching the xml data, which is causing recording conflicts. I currently have a reoccuring recording each time Lost is on channel RTE2. However I sometimes get faults with this, where it seems like the guide thinks there are two seperate programs instances on at very similar times.

I have included a snapshot and the xml file. According to the snapshot, Lost is starting at 9pm, but according to the xml file, this should be in fact Scrubs.

  Where to start? (newbie)
Posted by: pondlife - 2006-04-19, 12:11 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (10)

Hi All,

I've recently given up trying to build my PVR on Linux and have moved across to Windows XP. I now have gbpvr running on my machine but have a few questions:

1. Do I need to updatde the registry in order to boot straight into gbpvr?
2. Is there a way that I can use my TV as the sole display so that I can still use my PVR as a PC? (by setting up my remote so that it can log me into Windows?)
3. How can I connect up my Sky box to me Hauppauge PVR 350?
4. Can I use my Hauppauge HVR 1300 with gbpvr?

FYI my box consists of the following components:
Silverstone LC11m case (iMON LCD with remote), ASUS A8N-VM CSM Motherboard, 512MB RAM, Philips DVD, Maxtor 40GB HD (System), Samsung Spinpoint 250GB, PVR350, HVR1300 (not recognised by gbpvr).

Many thanks,

pondlife.

Need help with IR control of TDC Selector box from GB-PVR
Posted by: JesperTheViking - 2006-04-19, 10:36 AM - Forum: Hardware - No Replies

Hi,
I have purchased a IR sender/receiver from Iguanaworks and set-up WinLirc and GB-PVR to be able to change the channel on my TDC Selector (Sagem Casema box 4210 - the old model), however, it seems that it is only once in a while that it actually get the channel changed. I have tried changing the channel by using the WinLirc userinterface and the indicator in the taskbar always gets blue indicating that signal is send, however, the LED on the Selector box that indicates when IR signals are received does not lit. I can press the 'Send Code' button a few times and then suddenly the signal is send.

I should add, that 'learning' the IR codes via the above mentioned hardware worked fine.

Questions:
1. Is there anybody (Danes maybe Smile ) that has a similar set-up and have managed to make it work 100%?
2. Is there anybody that has a TDC Selector Casema box (the old model) and is able to remote control it using other IR software and hardware (e.g. USB-UIRT)?
3. Anyone using a Asus Pundit-R and the Iguanaworks IR hardware to control a box of some kind and it works 100% stable?

Best regards
JesperTheViking
