The big difference is that BaseSkin is split to 2 parts
BaseSkin and BaseSKinPlugins.
Introduced a system variable &SKINROOT% that will be used for next update of ThemePacks.
Run InstallSkin.bat to run SkinRoot program and install Blank font
Skin files change
Changed the loading order of Background_Mask.png
Implemented earlier fixes, found in support thread.
Changed XML values to fix "minor bugs" and appearance of popups in TVguilde, Recordings, Video, System, Photo.
BaseSkin 2.2 issues known
Recordings menu, Title and SubTiltle are overlapping....update recording skin
Recordings menu, descrition firld now big enough....update Tvguide skin
Plugin "bugs" with ThemePacks
There are no known limitations to the ThemePacks themself,
but several plugins does not handle task images correct. This will result in that icons for the plugin are not shown in main menu for some themes like.....SharperEdge and Horizon
These plugins are News, Solitaire, Calculator, SecurityCam, XRecord, XSearch, XGuide....
Plugin "misbehaviour"
The Xrecord series plugins also behave strange and does not rescale the images correct when a higher resolution is used in the main menu for a Theme or with the Horizon Theme.
Appearance Manager Support
Only Contour and MCE2BlueAM ThemePacks works with AM.
Apply a ThemePack on BaseSkin
To apply a ThemePack, just run the EXE file and it will replace all graphics and som sub menus...... Main Menu, OSD submenu, Panels submenu
The EXE file is created with WinRar so it is possible to extract the content into a sub directory of the /skins/baseskin/allbaseskins/ directory and apply the themepacks from the theme directory named Advisor.xxxx
Just run the bat file CopyTheme.bat and the theme graphics will be copied to the skin.
I work that way. I have almost 30 Advisor.xxxx theme directories now.
So I use many Theme designs.
ThemesManager with ThemePacks in the BaseSkin
Download the ThemesManager from the Wiki http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Plugin/ThemesManager
Download and Save the ThemePacks to the BaseSkin root.
UnZip the Advisor.XXXX.exe with WinRar to an Advisor.XXXX sub direcory.
I have started to redo all ThemePacks so they will extract themself with directly into an Advisor.XXXX directory instead of the /allbaseskins, as they do now.
I had comskip check to run in the config box in gbpvr
I was going to change it to write a parallel processing file
to call comskip call comclean and retime all files automatically
so i thoght that i should remove it from the config gbpvr if i am going to call it in the parallel processing bat when i checked the config
it wasn't listed as a check box
but it did run and finished 8 min. after the show that i recorded today and has been working fine
is there something i missed
* i have not yet created a parallel processing bat file
I have made another post regarding the above topic. I have a hard time believing that I am the only one in the entire world using GB-PVR on a Asus Pundit-R with Iguagaworks IR hardware  .
So guys, anyone using the above hardware combination and does it work with whatever box you are trying to remote control?
When I goto live TV in Timeshift mode it allways starts in a paused state. To get it to play I have to press "pause" then "play" on the remote.
Sometimes Live TV does not start at all. After the message about starting in time shift mode, please wait, I then get a blank screen and GBPRV no longer responds at all.
This is really a media player classic problem but I thought maybe someone here might know the solution to it.
I use a standard tv as a second monitor for gbpvr and it works great. By that I mean no skipped frames. When I use MPC, though, it skips a ton of frames if I put it on fullscreen (not so much if kept original size). I am playing the same exact video with both. Does anyone know what may be causing the frames to be skipped in MPC?
Hey All, I have added a new look to the Contour skin. It's called ContourCF for "Carbon Fiber"... it's available in Ferrari Red and Viper Blue:
This isn't a complete rework... just a background change to switch it up a bit.
I need to figure out what Mixman/OldDog are doing with the dymanic background chooser thing so it would be easier for you to change them. But for now, here are the backgrounds. If you want to use red, first rename the current background files located in c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr\skin\contourhc\:
Using the setup below. when using the remote, many times the response is very slow, or a click on a remote won't do anything, and then the next click would do them both (like, "down" - nothing happenes. Press "down" again - on screen moves two lines down).
Using the IR software form Hauppauge (not the "direct" setup).
There is nothing significant running on the box (CPU, if any, is used by GBPVR).
I think I have the latest drivers from Hauppauge (their site is not the friendliest).
I'm a little confused, does anyone know if it's possible to connect/ record to GBPVR from a computer outside my network. (I'd like to gain access to the same "localhost" page, or atleast the same interface.....so to connect from school, to my house) In otherwords be able to record things when i'm not home. I have a feeling i would need to setup a web address maybe? Any help would be great, Thanx.
Ok, starting to use the PVR more and more... but how do I...?
While zapping, we see a movie starting. But there are commercials, so we wanted to watch it in time-shift. Wait like 30 minutes, and then start to watch.
But - I don't want it to hang on the channel on "pause". I wanted, while it's recording, to go to the guide, and schedule some future recordings.
So, I hit "rec", and went to the guide. But how do I start to watch it?
We went to the recordings menu, and selected that recording to watch, but it stopped the recording, and we only had a 30 minutes to watch.
