I have a PVR150 and a PVR500 so I have 3 tuners available for recording. I am getting some recordings with no sound but good video. How can I find out which tuner records each show? I did 3 manual recordings for one channel starting 10 minutes apart so I know all 3 tuners will be used. I just need to know where to look to see which tuner recorded what. Also this may be related some of the recordings are showing up in Recordings plugin and some are in the Video plugin does anyone know why that would happen?
I have the latest version of GBPVR and have been messing with the automatic transcode option. I have been able to get a a 2.5gig recording to 800 or so megs in Xvid format.
When nobody is moving, it looks FANTASTIC.. as soon as anything motion related occurs, it gets VERY BLOCKY.
Also, this file seems a bit big for 1 hour of video. Most 1 hour video recordings I find over bittorent are 350megs and look perfect.
Is there a way to change the default settings for the xvid encode or no? I tried chaning the settings in the Xvid Encoder (it's in start > programs > xvid after you install the latest version) and that had no effect.
I would be happy with 500megs as I do not remove the comercials... or even the 800 meg, but the horrible motion compression is killing me.
Ideas?

I am trying to extend the range of my (wired) home network to access the MVPs I recently picked up at Radio Shack.
Currently I have a cable modem feeding into a wireless router (Dlink DI-624) which has 4 wired LAN ports.
I wanted to run a cat5 cable from one of those lan ports upstairs to the uplink port on a network Hub (Netgear DS108) to expand the number of wired ports available.
My only problem is that I really have no idea about networks and was wondering if there was any problem using a hub to connect the MVPs because the hub only connects at half duplex. I did a forum search and think I read elsewhere in this forum that the MVP is a half duplex device so it appears that it shouldn't matter.
Is there a downside to the HUB connection for MVP? What problems would I notice with the half duplex connection on other devices (i.e. PC connecting to internet through HUB to router)?
Wish there was a way to have more than 1 Recording Folder.
Like have a list down being the Top Location being the Primary Recording, the second becomes the next recording folder, and so on.
This would be good for a growing number of people who have added bigger drives to quench their thirst to record everything on their guide, tinker with GBPVR, add all the plugins, and not watch any of the recordings.
I have a PVR150, however, in the hardware decoder I have no option to select the PVR-150, I can only select the 350. GP-PVR does not work under this setting because it says it cannot find the device. Please help!
Hi all, first time poster, long time reader. I recently got my PVR setup and am trying to get comskip/clean working. Comskip seems to be working as I have all the txt files etc, but comclean doesnt seem to have run.
Now what I did was DL and unzipped both comskip and comclean into my gbpvr directory. I have even run them manually, and the same result happens. Comskip seems to run and mark the spots, renames the original file as xxxx_original.mpg, but doesnt seem to leave a modified file.
I cant get the tuner settings to work due to the error "Failed to find Crossbar filter". Wrong device type ?". I have the AverMedia Hybrid PCMCIA card on a Dell 6000 and non of the predefined cards will work please?
UbuStream lets you play web TV and radio streams from within GBPVR. The streams can be played either by selecting them from a list accessible from the GBPVR main menu (list mode) or by selecting them in the same way as a regular GBPVR channel (channel mode).
Web TV/radio streams are defined to UbuStream as âstationsâ, each configured with an URL and the media player required to play it. At run-time the URL is invoked using the associated media player application.
This is a much enhanced version of the UbuStreamCmd utility released in February. It installs as a "real" plugin, has easier to use config panels, offers two different modes for playing streaming video/audio from GBPVR, has an EPG generator for creating TV Guide program slots for Internet Channels and provides the ability to view a station's program schedule web page (in the default browser) from the menu.
If you already have UbuStreamCmd installed, UbuStream is backwardly compatible (it will automatically convert your existing UbuStreamCmd xml file to the new format). You should find UbuStream simpler and easier to use. Thanks to all of you who made helpful suggestions for improvements and enhancements. UbuStream is still evolving so comments/ideas (and bug reports) are all welcome.
You can read more and download the UbuStream Plugin on the wiki.
Hello,
I've found GB-PVR only a view days ago. So I'm an Newbie, german is my native language, but there seems no german forum interesstet in GB-PVR. So I try to find the right words in english...
I'm using GB-PVR with a Hauppauge PVR 350 - after I solve some problems about german cable frequencies I got a problem with the remote control. If GB-PVR is the active window my silver rc from Hauppauge works fine. But I use GB-PVR with the TV-Out on my TV. So I can't use the rc when GB-PVR looses focus.
Is there any way to solve this problem?
An other small problems: When I'm using hardware-decoder for TV-Out I can't use the internal radio from the PVR350. When I switch to radio there comes an error and GB-PVR crashes. Also teletext only gives a black mask all over the screen. Whem I'm using software-decoder both works fine. Is there any way to made radio and teletext working with TVout on the PVR350?
Another question: Why there is no local playback, when hardware-decoder is used? WinTV2k is able to show local playback and TVout at the same time.
tried to install this plugin but its not recognised. There's an error as shown in the log below. I have copied the gbpvrutilities.dll file into a few directories just in case its looking for it somewhere else.
anyone got this to work?
thx,
hammer.
