  Show name = File name = Bad name
Posted by: nanobyte - 2006-04-01, 09:57 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Sometimes show names contain characters that should not be used in Windows file names, such as a series of periods.

"Wetten, dass .." for example is a popular German TV show that cannot be recorded. GB-PVR tries to create the file, which fails.

It should preprocess all file names and strip invalid characters.

  No System information when in system menu
Posted by: reefboy - 2006-04-01, 09:50 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I have been battling this for quite some time and am now really wanting to get this taken care of as I believe it is also part of the reason I have problems with other plugins.

Running straight GBPVR Blue with minimal to no plugins I get the following error in GBPVR.exe.log

4/1/2006 1:42:51 PM.109 ERROR [2] Unabled to determine disk usage: System.Runtime.InteropServices.InvalidComObjectException: COM object that has been separated from its underlying RCW can not be used.
at System.Runtime.InteropServices.Marshal.GetIUnknownForObject(Object o)
at System.Management.ManagementScope.GetIWbemServices()
at System.Management.ManagementObject.Get()
at xae10db17d26ba033.xaff7107ea01e1347.Activate()

Basicaly, when I go to the System menu within GBPVR I just get a blank screen and get the messages above in the gbpvr.exe.log

I have tried it while zonealarm and other programs are off with no luck. I have tried to verify that all of the main services are started for the computer with the problem . When I check the same services are active on another computer of mine which works great for the "system status" as well as video archive plugin panels I see nothing that jumps out at me.

How does the system status work? Is there a way to invoke the same commands from outside of GBPVR in order to pinpoint what is causing the problem? Any help would be appreciated!

For what ever reason I have never been able to get the vidoe archive plugins working either. Not sure if there is a common thread to both problems but I wouldn't doubt it.

  System.IndexOutOfRangeException: parent_oid
Posted by: mtutty - 2006-04-01, 09:36 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

Just upgraded to 96.12 from a 95.xx version. I've been using linked tables from gbpvr.mdb to a local MSDE instance for several months.

I seem to have lost my PVR-150 in the config. Each time I try to add it, the Settings dialog for the capture source blows up. No error message is reported there.

I'm getting the following error in the log:

4/1/2006 3:22:54 PM.228 ERROR [12] Error int SourceConfigurationContainer::LoadAll(): System.IndexOutOfRangeException: parent_oid

  no dvd button in menu
Posted by: bollerkiste - 2006-04-01, 09:33 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Hi,

I am encountering a strange problem: Whatever I try, there is no DVD entry in the main menu. I am running GB-PVR v0.96.12 with a Hauppauge PVR350. I enabled "show dvd in main menu" and tried the default settings as well as the the settings with intervideo decoder. Yes, I have Intervideo DVD installed.

Anybody has a clue? What am I missing?

Thanks for any suggestion,

Marko

  Clueless: How do I configure gbpvr to capture my camcorder?
Posted by: wangx0800 - 2006-04-01, 09:10 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

I have a WinTV150 MCE card, running on windows XP. Well, did not know the difference betwee winTV 150 and 150 MCE, so I hope I am not stuck now. Anyway, I was able to configure GB-PVR to capture TV fine, but just could not figure out how to capture from my Hi8mm camcorder. All I need is to convert/capture my Hi8mm tapes onto HD. I am using composite video inputs on the wintv150 mce card, but no matter how I twik "capture source" on gbpvr config, I get nothing!

Thanks in advance!

  winlirc and gppvr to change channels on my hughes satilight reciever problem
Posted by: jagaholic - 2006-04-01, 08:52 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Been going hard at gbpvr and got nearly everyhing working. Was able to configure winlirc and I am now able to change channels on my external directv hugher box from it. I am banging my head though getting gbpvr to change the channels on the hughes reciever. I have been following this thread:

http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=3048

The first part, I get errors in the wscript that seems related to the "transmit.exe" area. I did download an older version of winlirc v6.4 and using that since it had the transmit.exe. The script bombs out anytime it gets to a &quot. I tried the link about getting the older releases, but it is dead. I downloaded my v6.4 from the main winlirc page. The remote I am use is the grey remote that came with my PVR250. It works fine in changing the menu items on the main gppvr screen.

Guess I am just at a loss now on how to get this all together and my brain is fried. Maybe a beer might help the brain cells, or one of you smart chaps Big Grin

How do I use this? I tried dragging/dropping my recordings and it makes some text file. But what do I do with it? How exactly to get get comskip to rip the commercials? Or is it not suppose to rip them?

If it doesn't rip them whats the easiest method to remove them from my recordings?

Thx

  Comskip not detecting commercials
Posted by: autumnmist - 2006-04-01, 06:51 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

It used to work and then I upgraded yesterday to v79.30. I am using the default comskip.ini file, but it's not detecting commercials in a file I know there are commercials in. I tried running it both automatically via GBPVR and manually through commandline.

Here's my .ini file:

  Net Radio Conundrum
Posted by: jtokach - 2006-04-01, 06:37 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

Okay, I can have my cake and eat it, but no milk...

When:

Code:
<UseWindowsMediaPlayerForAudio>false</UseWindowsMediaPlayerForAudio> <UseWindowsMediaPlayerForNetRadio>true</UseWindowsMediaPlayerForNetRadio>
Net Radio Web (shoutcast works), but .ASX files do not show up.

When:
Code:
<UseWindowsMediaPlayerForAudio>true</UseWindowsMediaPlayerForAudio> <UseWindowsMediaPlayerForNetRadio>true</UseWindowsMediaPlayerForNetRadio>
.ASX files work, some .PLS work, most don't. (Try club .977 80's in the top 25 streams)

When:
Code:
<UseWindowsMediaPlayerForAudio>true</UseWindowsMediaPlayerForAudio> <UseWindowsMediaPlayerForNetRadio>false</UseWindowsMediaPlayerForNetRadio>
.ASX files do not display, .PLS and shoutcasts work.

I'd like to stick with whatever method allowed the META (station, artist, song) to display and only use WMP for .ASX as this is the ONLY time I ever user WMP. I suppose some logic would need to be incorporated to handle this.

Otherwise, as it stands, something's not working right when both values are true.

  What to upgrade to cure no live tv problem
Posted by: Dragon - 2006-04-01, 05:41 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (3)

Been trying to set up GBPVR on the cheap, but I just cant get live tv to work. I can hear it, but see no picture. I can see the tiny picture when setting up the digital channel mapping in config.

Current Spec is:
Asus Terminator P-III Barebones Motherboard
P3 1Ghz (As Fast as it will take)
256Mb RAM (Got another 256 coming to take it to the 512Mb)
Hauppauge Nova T PCI (90002)
Onboard SiS Graphics, upgrade options limited to old PCI slot.

Also got Hauppauge MVP, makes no difference whether through this or not.

So my question is, would a graphics card or more memory get live tv working right, or should I admit defeat and just use it as pvr and playback box.
