Not sure if this happens to everyone but it happened to me on my main and backup HTPC's. After upgrading to 96.12 all references to MVP screen position are set back to default. Not a huge thing, I just got the settings from my backed up config.xml and loaded them in the new config.xml. Would be sweet if those were automatically retained during an upgrade.
I am just trying out the hibernate/resume feature and am making fair progress. I have managed to make my pc hibernate after 5 mins of inactivity and it wakes up at the appropriate time.
But, when it resumes it stalls at the windows login prompt, saying 1 program running.
How do i get it to auto login?
I downloaded the bootskin off the wiki, and noticed in addition to not having a progress bar, it's bmp contained too many colors. So here is an updated version with a progress bar!
I'm using the most current version of GBPVR (96.12) and I'm trying to get Postprocessing.bat working with Comskip + Comclean. Comskip works just fine (generates the .txt files and everything), however Comclean appears to only rename the file to * _original.mpg but doesn't create the cleaned *.mpg file.
All I did was remove the "rem" from the call comclean line in the Comskip-provided postprocessing.bat file.
Not sure if this is related, but my postprocessing.log file says:
Prostprocessing.bat invoked on "C:\TV\Manual Recordings\17 WPVI_20060331212000.mpg" recorded from channel 17
pRostprocessing????? Is that the cause of the problem?
I have the same problem as Dekk reported in his thread.
I will explain how I ended up there as follows:
I recently uninstalled a previous version and installed the latest upgrade to GB-PVR. I had never had a problem with the Hauppauge (45 button) changer.
As soon as I upgraded, I got an error message "Error: Object reference not set to an instance of an object" every time that I tried to use Live TV. Playback worked fine.
I searched here and found a thread noting that this was due to the ".exe changer" not being pointed to an actual IR device.
When I set my changer to "None", I could now use Live TV.
So next, I searched here again and found reference to setting the ".exe changer".
My WinTV folder includes Ir.exe (there is no HaupBlast.exe as mentioned in another thread).
On my XP Start menu, the "Restart IR" shortcut shows: "C:\Program Files\WinTV\Ir.exe" /QUIET
So, I have pointed to that IR.EXE file and I ultimately get the same error that DEKK reports.
In the menu, the remote control moves the cursor up and down without a problem and selects Live TV. I can raise and lower the volume. In Playback, I can use all remote control functions.
BUT as soon as it changes the channel once in Live TV, the focus is lost to the small "IR STARTUP" box which shows the message "Found IR Controller (e2)" If I use the mouse to put the focus back on the GB-PVR window, I can change the channel once more - but get the same message.
<edit> I just noticed that when I change from Playback to LIVE TV, the error message also pops up without touching the remote! <end edit>
I have selected the CONFIG option of "Use direct access to Hauppauge Remote" with IR.exe unloaded... but I got no remote control capability that way.
Google reported no cases of the exact error message. Yahoo and FAST Search report only Dekk's message here on GB-PVR.
I have done my best to not bug you on this without first exhausting my ability to track it down... but any help? Please and TIA!
Paul
P.S. Congrats on the little one! .. and I will certainly understand if it takes you a while to get back on this one.
Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone else is having this problem? I can play ratdvd files just fine and even navigate the menu structures but when I attempt to skip chapters within the file it gets strange. The first couple of times I attempt to skip forward it will jump about 2 minutes, then after 3 or 4 attempts at skipping it goes back to the beginning of the show?
Any ideas? If there is a log file that I can post please let me know.
I am very new here. How do I get comskip on GBPVR? Does it record TV programs without commercials automatically or is it an option that I have to set? How is it done? Thanks!
I upgraded to GB-PVR 96.12 from 95.16. This solved the problem of not reading my WINTV-PVR-USB2 after a driver update.
But, when I go into full screen mode or maximize the window the program appears to be confused about the size/resolution (1280x1024) of my screen and just shakes or shutters furiously. It works fine in window mode.
