Ive been searching for how to mute GBPVR, and i found something that said that the letter 'm' would do that but it doesnt.
i tried some other in that search, like RightArrow, LeftArrow for 'Higher Vol' resp 'Lower Vol' and that worked.
I have been looking into a way to get widescreen material recorded by GBPVR to play on a 4:3 tv with no widescreen mode, but in letterbox mode.
Anyone know how to do that?
This is via the MVP by the way. I have just tried out a freeview recording and it seems to display it, but crops the left & right of the 16:9 images, leaving the middle.
Ideally, i would like to see the black bars, to be sure i am not missing anything.
Obviously the easiest solution would be to replace the 4:3 tv with a 16:9 one, but i don't want to do that just yet.
I tried playing the MPG file in VLC and that seems to auto-detect when the picture is in widescreen and change it's window size, whereas power DVD doesn't do that. This is within the same MPG file !
I know there is a DAR (Display Aspect Ratio) flag for an mpeg stream, but that is on a per file basis.
Hi all,
Sorry if this is has already posted but I searched the forum and have not found anything that directly covers this (admittedly though I am new to HIP and am still trying to learn about it :eek: ).
What I am trying to do is use the green button on my MCE2005 remote and HIP to start or focus GBPVR. I know you can do it with Girder but it is way to powerfull for what I need to do. Has anyone done this? If so, any hints?
Hi,
I'm installing my first mediamvp and am stuck trying to get gbpvr to work with it. I've disabled the hauppauge services and set the number of mvp's to 1 in config. I have a router setup with dhcp. When I plug in the mvp, it stops at the msg 'loading application'. The gbpvr log shows the following:
3/24/2006 8:33:05 AM.953 VERBOSE [19] Received MVP TFTP request: dongle.bin
3/24/2006 8:33:21 AM.484 VERBOSE [51] Received BOOTP request from client. bytesReceived: 300 address: 0.0.0.0

3/24/2006 8:34:18 AM.062 VERBOSE [19] Received MVP TFTP request: dongle.bin
mvp shows version 1.0
gbpvr is 0.98.8
mvp is connected over wifi and I do see a stable link.
The only thing I wondered about was the dhcp client lease. Seems it only gets a 1 minute lease. Tried 2 different dhcp servers with the same result so I'm assuming it's only requesting a short lease ..
Anyone able to offer any hints ?
Thanks,
Greg.
From the changelog

I am failing to get GBPVR to work well.
XP Pro SP2 Athlon XP 2400+ 512MB GeForce FX 5200 128MB FusionHDTV 5 USB Gold
HDTV OTA recording and watching are working.
Recording is sometimes jerky. I "think" it is using either the Microsoft MUX or a Cyberlink mux of VERSION: 4.0.1313 . I tried a 5.0.0727, but it appeared to be worse for some reason.
When I set the BDA Multiplexer to Microsoft DVRMS it seems to work the best for recorded DVR-MS files. At least they are less jerky. I don't have this problem or less witht he native Fusion HDTV app.
Conversion: doesn't do it well at all to MPG. It is either jerky or there is no sound.
Comclean: I've tried all of them from erik's site. It either doesn't work or I get a file with no audio.
Can someone puhleeze hold my hand (figuratively that is) to get this to work?
I just did a clean reinstall of windows, and now my GB-PVR is not working.
It will load and play videos from my video library fine, but when I go to watch TV, I get one of two things:
* If I click "Live TV" I get a blank screen. No video, no OSD, no nada.
* If I go through the Guide, when I click "Watch" GB-PVR does nothing.
FYI:
* I've installed my PVR-150 drivers
* I'm using the latest version of GB-PVR (which worked fine before the reinstall)
* I've installed .Net
* I've installed Media Player 10
Hi guys. I'm trying to get my Avermedia M179 up and running and I'm having some trouble. I had a world of a time even finding drivers for the thing. I ended up getting the driver for MCE from some site other than Avermedia's. The version is 1.1.2.2 from 8/12/2003. The card shows up as 'PVR-PCI, Avermedia MPEG Capture Device' under Device manager. I do have a PVR150 in the box also if that makes any difference.
When I add the card in gbpvr it warns me that the drivers are not loaded for this card even though it appears to be working fine in Device Manager. I do not know of a way to test this card other than using gbpvr.
Can someone point me to the correct drivers for this card or give me hints on what I can try to resolve this issue.
