display TV Guide with MCE2005 remote
Posted by: moosekaka - 2006-03-08, 02:16 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

how can I display the TV guide with my MCE2005 remote during LiveTV? I can do it with "F1" key on the keyboard. I don't know what button can be used in my remote to do it. The "GUIDE" button on the remote launches XP Media Center and its TV guide. Can I map the F1 key to a button on my remote? I'm using the V2 MCE2005 remote. I've chosen MCE remote in the config app.

Stumbled across this and thought it looked pretty cool. Cool

Has anyone had any experience with this unit?

  PVR 150 Comb Filter on/off??
Posted by: folkboat - 2006-03-08, 01:15 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (4)

I was pocking around the UK Hauppauge site and noticed that all recent versions of the PVR 150 driver have turned off the "comb filter". Some suggested this could cause a "softer" picture. Which is what I am seeing (almost blurry).

Has anyone been able to turn back-on the "comb filters", there appears to be a registry hack for this, haven't tried it yet.

  GBPVR.MDB is very large
Posted by: Landru - 2006-03-08, 12:58 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (13)

Is it realistic to have a gbpvr.mdb grow to over 2gb? I don't seem to be having any problems withthe system, it's just that anything that accesses teh DB (like installing the latest version) takes forever and a day.....

Thanks!

Landru

mpg 1 and not divx recording default
Posted by: karfan - 2006-03-08, 12:16 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

I have 96.12 version and have use config to default the medium recording to mpeg 1 default(because I have a slow computer, and do not want the mvp to decode). I have chosen mpeg-1 with resolution 352*240 bitrate 1150000 bps audio sampling 48000. However when it records, it results in a file with extension .avi and not .mpg.

Any hints.

Many Thanks

MVPWorkerThread - Connection lost, waiting a new one
Posted by: kendrak24 - 2006-03-08, 12:01 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Got this several times in the log since updating to 0.96.12. The MVP reboots, so it's a bit frustrating to have to restart playback 2-3 times per show...
Everything else seems to work just fine.
Couldn't find anything informative in the log files as to what would cause this, but let me know if you need them.

  Media player Classic 6.4.x
Posted by: jam_zhou - 2006-03-07, 11:00 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (1)

Anyone use media player classic for DVD playback? I'm having difficulty navigating menus with the arrow keys. Works fine with mouse. Wondering if it's just me.

I'm testing out different players that work with my RW2. None satisfactory yet.

I've tried winDVD and have recently switched to VLC because it can play iso directly but no RW2 support - so I use the Hauppauge remote for now.

  XDVD menus and language
Posted by: sylv - 2006-03-07, 10:31 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (2)

Hi,

I just installed VLC and XDVD and everything seems to work fine. Great stuff!

However, when I select a dvd folder on my hdd (the dvd was ripped on my hdd), the playback starts with the tons of previews that I am not able to skip. Is there a way to configure the MVP remote (I am using the MVP for playback) to jump to the menu or to jump directly to the main title?

My second question is about language. The playback starts by default in English. I would like to select French. I don't know if it is a setting in VLC, but I looked and found nothing.

Any help would be appreciated.

GBPVR is really great!

Thanks,

Sylv

What can prevent WMP visulizations from working?
Posted by: capone - 2006-03-07, 10:07 PM - Forum: General Discussion - No Replies

Was trying to get them to work in GB when I found out they don't work in WMP.

The dxdiag tests are fine, the nvidia drivers current, and nothing else seems to be not working visually. I open WMP, play a song (and visualization are on...even trying the simple bars one), and it's just the background (black or blue). It's almost like they are just about to play and don't, or there's some overlayblocking them.

Does anyone know what might block or interfere w/ visualizations?
