How would I manually record something on from
fri march 3, 11:30pm to
sat march 4, 6:00am?
I was gonna do fri 23:30 to 23:59 and then sat 00:00 to 6:00 but that wont work. I cant get it to record from 23:30 to 23:59 for friday so if I use 23:30 to 00:00 for friday won't that mean the previous morning?
NOTE: This assumes some knowledge of the Hauppage remote.
I want my PVR user's experience to be as simple as possible. For me this means I want everything controlled by the remote in the most intuitive way possible. GBPVR is a great program and with a little work I've been able to get pretty much everything I could want working with the excellent plugins and tools made by this community.
I particularly enjoy reven's My* series of plugins. This tutorial has to do with issues I ran into while working with MyPrograms. I can run all my favorite emulators but some of them don't like to close when I assign key's to the irremote.ini for the program. I believe this is due to the program being Console based when in fullscreen mode. This post is a solution I found to get these or any programs closed with a few simple steps.
Found this useful free tool NirCmd: (download link is at bottom of page)
It is a command line driven program that can do a multitude of useful windows functions. Including closing a window by passing the program name to it.
Some emulators and games don't accept input directly through the remote interface with irremote.ini. For instance: ePSXe(playstation emulator) does not like to close gracefully for me with my remote.
**Careful** Editting irremote.ini may cause problems if not done in the correct manner. So please only try this if your comfortable modifying this file.
; NOTE: Lines starting with a ";" are just comments, no need to add them to
; irremote.ini
; Create a batch file that will close the window with NirCmd. To do this
; create a regular .txt file and add this line:
; The path "C:\Program Files\NirCmd\" is the path to where ever you installed
; NirCmd. "ePSXe.exe" is the executable for the PSX emulator. I used
; killprocess, because the program would'nt close all of its windows with
; only the closeprocess command. closeprocess is a safer command to use
; though.
; Then save as: (name/save it anything, but you need this later)
C:\Utils\closePSX.bat
; At this point you can test it out by running the program(i.e. ePSXe.exe)
; and then alt tabbing and running the batch file. This should kill the
; program.
; Open your irremote.ini(i.e. C:\Windows\irremote.ini)
; Add this under: [Applications] (found near the top)
; (I always add my new applications right above: GB-PVR=
; The name you add here is the exact window name you see in the
; taskbar while the program is running. Alt+Tab when you run the
; program and put your mouse over the program in the taskbar, to find
; this)
ePSXe - Enhanced PSX Emulator=
; Now go down to the end of the file and find where [GB-PVR] starts
; (I always add my new programs just above [GB-PVR], just my
; preference. These lines will call the batch files we made earlier
; to close the window. I use the back and power button to close
; everything, change these to your preference.)
; NOTE: If you saved your .bat file in a folder that has spaces in it like
; "C:\Program Files\..." the path must look like this "C:\Progra~1\...". I'm
; not going to get into why this is. If you run into an issue saying
; something like Can't find executable, something was misspelled or its an
; issue like that.
Now Restart the IR Software and test it out.
This works quite nicely and while its not the most graceful solution it gets the job done. Enjoy!
I'm trying to record HDTV in .ts file instead of dvr-ms. I changed the BDA multiplexer in MISC tab from "Microsoft DVR-MS" to "transport stream" and restarted GBPVR.
The recording file is still dvr-ms file instead of ts. What am I missing? I believe I don't need to install any multiplexer for "TS" format. My FusionHDTV app records in .tp format flawlessly.
it would be convienant for me if in the system menu, there was an option that could exit gbpvr and then restart it immediatly after. i would find this very convienant when something happens and I need to restart gbpvr but not restart the whole machine.
WinTV PVR 150
Coaixal Cable into my Hughes DirecTV box
Everything had been running fine until a yesterday. I started GPPVR and clicked "live tv" and got just static. I tried updating the EPG and kept getting errors so I re-installed and got the EPG to update. Now instead of static I get the error message, "Error: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it". Does anyone know what might be happening here?
Another little bit of info:
Yesterday when I was getting all the static I tried starting up the Hauppage tv program and got static as well. I uninstalled all the tv card software and reinstalled and still got static. Could my card be messed up?
I have the LiveTV routed to the Hauppauge's TV out (A/V), that part works ok.
However, when I select FM radio, the output goes only to my PC's soundcard, and not to the TV.
Note that this lack of sound-routing also goes for Internet-Radio.
I've done some reading on 'crossbar' and I think that's where I should be setting a cross-connection. I haven't been able to figure out the details of such a connection however.
Someone have an idea on how to 'tee' the sound so that Soundcard-out ALSO goes to the PVR350's TV-audio-out ?

XPpro - gbpvr 09608, WinTV version <whatever.. see other mail>
I have installed GBPVR on my Aldi/Medion desktop (nov2002), configured EPG, I did manage to import the TV guide, I manually inputed the frequencies of the channels of my Dutch TV provider, I even managed to get 1 channel and sound active in the 'live TV' menu.
So far so good, for a basic computer user like me......
I now cannot change the channel in 'live TV'. I figure the configuration settings should be different, but I have no clue where to start.
It appears that the channel I do see on GBPVR is the channel that was last chosen on Power Cinema (preinstalled). That is the only channel GBPVR shows, regardles what menu-route I follow....
Who can help me get the configuration right?
If I need to include logs, where do I find the logs I need to include?
I haven't seen anyone else post this so I'm thinking it may just be my setup. When I installed Daemon Tools it defaulted to C:\Program Files\Daemon Tools. The config app listed the location as C:\Program Files\D-Tools. I've tried to change it by typing it in and by using the browse function, but it fails to save the new location. Trying to mount an iso I get the message "cannont find the specified file", and launching the config app again shows it back as D-Tools. I finally got it to work by changing it in the config.xml. This has been the same with every version of GBPVR I've tried (including the current 96.8). Has anyone else noticed this problem?
