I have a very strange effect with the EPG update in the new version 96.08.
I'm doing the update through
start gbpvr.exe -OnlyUpdateEPG
Unfortunately, this doesn't write any log file.
First, when I do a complete EPG reload with more than 7 days it fails. When I watch the process with the Windows task manager, the memory used by gbpvr.exe is going up during the download from zap2it. When it goes over 1.1 GB, it ends and doesn't update the EPG. If I go down to 6 days, it doesn't reach the 1 GB, so everything is fine.
To get the 14 days into the EPG, I configured the EPG to do an update instead of a complete reload. I did a new installation on the weekend and run the update with reload for 6 days.
Last night, the update (not reload) for the EPG ran at 1 am for 12 days. After that update I have a gap in my TV guide:
I have all shows up to 2/28 6 pm. The next show in the TV guide is 3/1 3 pm up to 3/10 6pm. What happened to these 21 hours that are missing?
The recordings that I had set up in the missing gap are still partially there.
I am watching what happens with the update tonight.

I notice a couple things that used to work in my previous .96 builds of GBPVR but no longer work with the most recent .96.8 build...

- OSD of Volume through the MVP no longer shows up (using MVP dongle) Volume works correctly, but no display
- Keyboard shortcuts do not work in GBPVR window on PC. I can't bring up the guide or any other controls via the keyboard.

Anyone else run into this?

It was mentioned that the tuner that gets picked is the first available tuner in the list. Is there a way to reorder them without adding and removing? I would like to swap things around while testing different cards, but I don't want to keep deleting and readding.

If there isn't a way to reorder, can I ask as a feature request in the Config app?

I seen to always run into this problem. Is there some setting I need to do to get this to work reliably? I am still running v30. I can' seem to get to the wiki to download anything newer right now.

Just installed WIndows MCE 2005 and trying to use GBPVR on same machine. Have two tuner cards a 150MCE kit which comes with the strange remote that looks like a MCE remote but isn't quite! (The one sub doesn't have ) The other card is a Nova-T which has a Hauppauge remote (45 button one). Anyway to get to the point because the drivers are different for MCE 2005 it doesn't install the ir program so the Hauppauge remote doesn't work! Anyone know where I can just get the ir software for my Nova-T?

Attached is the picture I get in GBPVR. No problems with the sound or anything else. The guide sinks up and it has no problem changing the channels on my box. Just this weird garbled video. Any help?

General Instrument set top box (same as the motorola dct2000)
win xp
pentium 4 2.6ht
1gb ddr

Also, I have no problems at all with getting the video to work in wintv2000

I thought I share some issues I found with 0.96.8 (VisionPlus DVB-T, MediaMVP)

• discovered that sometimes recording results in several mpg files with file size 0 except the last one. In the log file five recordings where stopped / started within 6 seconds (see log file attached). Retry logic?
  
• playback of file size 0 crashes MediaMVP.
  
• intermittend crash of playback with MediaMVP (not reproducable). Never saw it before.
  
• delete of recording in "What's new" does not remove recording from the list. Have to delete it again (this time play does not appear) in order to see it removed from list. Leaving screen and coming back though will not show deleted recordings. Is this by design?
  
• inconsistent remote keys (MediaMVP): In video / music library, skip keys are used for page scroll. In recordings, blue botton. Play key does not work for video. Also, play key in music plays only one song. "Play All" could removed when music just continous with the next song like any CD / MP3 player does. Maybe "Play All" makes sense for video.
  
• tried experimental dongle. It's much faster! However, switching on MediaMVP does not work once switched off. Have several avi files with MP2 audio (compressed via mencoder with audio copy for fast transcoding) with audio playback distorted. Works fined with Hauppauge dongle. MPEG playback with 4:3 files does not use full TV screen, which is 4:3.
  

I'm not sure if this has ever been answered before but I was wondering what Sub has for his PVR setup(s)? CPU, ram , hd, capture cards etc. Which one do you use for your daily use...... Inquiring minds would like to know........

Is there any way to change the size or amount of characters that can be displayed in the tv guide program information box as mine seems to get cut short both on my monitor and mvp.

I like the ability of xrecord to find a programme by partial title etc but I'd like to know two things:-

When does it do the EPG search to look for programmes to record as i've waited several hours and nothing has been picked up yet even though they are in the EPG.

Second thing, how does it determine which capture_oid to use? This is important as I have capture oids of 4,6,7 and for some reason, all the recordings that it seems to be scheduling are set for capture source 1 which doesn't exist, results in a failed recording.

I had gone through the recording schedule table in the gbpvr.mdb database to ensure that all season recordings weren't set to use source 1 but they have re-appeared.

I have since deleted and re-set up my recordbypartialtitle recordings but like I said, nothing has appeared for hours.
